Welcome templates

[edit]

Hi Hmccasla. Thanks for welcoming new users, it is valuable for new users to receive a friendly introduction to Wikipedia. I would suggest, however, that you add the templates to users' talk pages as they are more likely to notice them there; the automatic notification is pretty hard to miss, but many new users will be unaware of changes made to their user pages. Best wishes, Rje (talk) 00:15, 21 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the heads up! I'll be sure to add the welcome message to new users' talk pages from now on. The Beast The Beauty 00:20, 21 April 2010 (UTC)Hmccasla[reply]

Template:Proud to be Texan

[edit]

I noticed you added a {{Proud to be Texan}} transclusion to the Texas page, which results in an animated GIF image of Jimmy Wales popping up over the page. It's funny, of course, but I'm not sure why it should appear in an encyclopedia article. A Pattern O (talk) 03:00, 9 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've taken the template off the page. Before creating a template or adding it to a page, please try to make sure it won't be disruptive, otherwise it might be interpreted as vandalism. -- AndySimpson talk? 08:55, 9 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Job 41 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:NPS This is already covered in depth at Leviathan

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Savonneux (talk) 04:26, 14 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Vital Articles

[edit]

To all editors displaying the "Vital Articles" template on their User Page.

Hi,

I recently tried to make a change to the list of Level 3 Vital Articles by replacing the entry

" [[Comparison of the imperial and US customary measurement systems|Imperial and US customary measurement systems]]"

with a new replacement article

" [[Imperial and US customary measurement systems]]".

Although I have advertised the proposed change on Wikipedia talk:Vital articles, I had no response and an anonymous IP editor took it upon himself to undo my changes on grounds that my proposal did not have a "strong consensus".

Will you please look at the discussion Wikipedia talk:Vital articles#Replacement article: Imperial and US customary measurement systems and add your opinion.

Nomination for deletion of Template:Taylor Alison Swift

[edit]

Template:Taylor Alison Swift has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the template's entry on the Templates for discussion page. SSTflyer 11:49, 17 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Template:Taylor Alison Swift requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an unambiguous misrepresentation of established policy.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. New deal for page patrollers

[edit]

Hi Hmccasla,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
