Spoken Wikipedia
[edit]Thank you for contributing spoken word files, it is much appreciated. However, File:Timesfreepress.ogg lacks a file description and license and both this file and File:Leeuniversity.ogg unfortunately have no mention of the license in the soundfile, as advised by the recording guidelines. Please add a description for File:Timesfreepress.ogg and if possible amend the sound files. Again, thank you Hekerui (talk) 04:32, 12 May 2010 (UTC)
File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Timesfreepress.ogg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Timesfreepress.ogg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 10:20, 12 May 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:20, 12 May 2010 (UTC)
License tagging for File:ChattanoogaTimesFreePressFr.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:ChattanoogaTimesFreePressFr.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.
For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 03:05, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for September 4
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Las Vegas Review-Journal, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page KORK (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

CASSIOPEIA(talk) 12:20, 4 September 2018 (UTC)Conflict of interest warning
[edit]Hello, Hkeely! There is a problem with your recent editing here. It is apparent that you have a conflict of interest with regard to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. Please read WP:COI or Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide. Wikipedia does allow editing by people who are paid or employed by or otherwise conflicted with regard to the subject, but only under very strict restrictions. This is because of one of the basic principles of Wikipedia: neutrality. It is pretty much impossible for you to be neutral when you are being paid to write about a subject. And certainly your editing on that subject has not been neutral; you have been removing or minimizing negative material, and adding positive and promotional material - sometimes without a reference source or other verification. If you wish to keep editing here, Wikipedia requires that:
- You must DISCLOSE your conflict of interest; anyone who has a COI and does not disclose it is likely to be blocked from editing entirely. You don't have to tell us who you are; you can say something like "Disclosure: I am an employee of the Las Vegas Review-Journal" or "Disclosure: I am paid to edit articles related to the Las Vegas Review-Journal." You can make this disclosure on your user page or the article's talk page or both.
- Except for obvious edits like correcting typos or removing vandalism, you should NOT edit the article yourself. Instead, you should propose an edit on the article's talk page, and some uninvolved editor such as myself will decide whether to add it to the article.
Your COI/non-neutral edits need to be evaluated or removed. Since you have edited the article so extensively, I am going to revert all of your edits since July when the problem started. I or someone else will then go through your changes and re-add what seems appropriate for Wikipedia. You can help with this by pointing out, on the article's talk page, changes you made that were purely neutral, like personnel changes or information sourced to a secondary source (other than the R-J itself).
I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news like this; I assume you were unaware of Wikipedia's rules about COI. Now that you know, I hope you will work together with uninvolved editors to continue to maintain the relevant pages. If you have comments you can make them here on your talk page; I will see them. --MelanieN (talk) 13:55, 4 September 2018 (UTC)

Weston Wamp moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Weston Wamp, is not suitable as written to remain published. Aside from the obvious notability issues, it appears there is a WP:UPE or WP:COI conflict. Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, and have addressed the UPE/COI issue, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. As per WP policy, please do not move into mainspace yourself. Onel5969 TT me 13:50, 6 March 2023 (UTC)
Concern regarding Draft:Weston Wamp
[edit]Hello, Hkeely. This is a bot-delivered message letting you know that Draft:Weston Wamp, a page you created, has not been edited in at least 5 months. Drafts that have not been edited for six months may be deleted, so if you wish to retain the page, please edit it again or request that it be moved to your userspace.
If the page has already been deleted, you can request it be undeleted so you can continue working on it.

- A "bare URL and missing title" error. References show this error when they do not have a title. Please edit the article to add the appropriate title parameter to the reference. (Fix | Ask for help)
Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can report it to my operator. Thanks, Qwerfjkl (bot) (talk) 17:18, 26 September 2023 (UTC)
Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution
[edit] Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Murphy, North Carolina into Cherokee County, North Carolina. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution
. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 15:01, 3 October 2023 (UTC)

A cup of coffee for you!
[edit]Thanks for the great work on starting a page for George W. Hayes (North Carolina). It would be great to have a reference to his service in the legislature from the North Caroline archive (https://www.ncleg.gov/), although that seems to be uncontactable (at least for me) now. Regardless, that's not urgent, as there are enough other reliable sources in support. Klbrain (talk) 10:34, 6 March 2024 (UTC) |
Disambiguation link notification for March 9
[edit]An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Community Newspapers Inc., you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Georgia.
(Opt-out instructions.) --DPL bot (talk) 06:09, 9 March 2024 (UTC)
The article Community Newspapers Inc. has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
This is a small company with a long history. Still, there is a surprising lack of WP:RS that meet WP:SIRS. I actually tried to save the article, and added few independent sources, but there is clearly not enough. So, delete as non-notable.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Викидим (talk) 07:33, 11 March 2024 (UTC)
