Formatting Discussions on Talk Pages
[edit]Hey. Hope you're well. I just wanted to give you a couple heads ups on Talk page discussions to make the conversation smoother:
- You can use escalating series of colons to indicate that you're replying to the previous comment.
- You can sign your comments by including four tildes ~~~~ at the end.
These help make it easier to see who's saying what, & in response to whom. WP:TALK#USE is also useful reading. I'm enjoying the conversation with you over at Habesha peoples. Pathawi (talk) 19:58, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
Discussion at the noticeboard
[edit]There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. The thread is Edit warring allegation advanced against user:HistoryEtCulture. The discussion is about the topic P'ent'ay. Thank you. - TheLionHasSeen (talk) 21:02, 22 September 2020 (UTC)
September 2020
[edit]Your recent editing history at P'ent'ay shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Blocked as a sockpuppet

Request reason:
Hi, may I be unblocked? I have no idea why my contributions to the Habesha peoples article or the Talk:Habesha peoples Talk Page are in any way violating Wikipedia rules. I edited the article, another editor disagreed with my contributions, I went to the talk page to discuss the differences we had and refrained from editing the main article page. We did not reach a consensus, so future edits stalled, and we continued discussing the issue. Later on, with no consensus or new edits to the article page, I end up getting a block notices. I followed through all the necessary procedures of editing and discussing on Wikipedia when editors disagree. Why am I getting punished for disagreeing with another editor?HistoryEtCulture (talk) 22:29, 23 September 2020 (UTC)

Because you are blocked, the only purpose of your talk page is to request unblocking. If you continue to post your bio and other stuff on here, your talk page access will be revoked. This has nothing to do with race as you accuse it of being. only (talk) 18:14, 26 September 2020 (UTC)
