Request on 12:39:37, 16 February 2015 for assistance on AfC submission by Laura Dormer

[edit]

Hi! You recently reviewed two of my article submissions: Draft:Future Medicine Ltd and Draft:Future Science Ltd. Unfortunately they weren't accepted, both for the reason "references do not adequately show the subject's notability". I'd be interested to learn more about what would be considred acceptable for this sort of article, both describing UK-based publishing companies? Thanks for your help! Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Albert E. Martel, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Lamb. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Recent Edit to Michael Flaherty Page

[edit]

Hi- You marked my recent edit to Michael Flaherty's page as slanderous. While There are some edits I can make to ensure neutrality is foremost, I disagree that the edits were slanderous, as it was all completely sourced. Let me know of the parts that you found lacking and I will happily fix them.

thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jfertig (talkcontribs) 21:58, 25 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I have undone your redirect that you made with the edit summary "Merged per discussion". I see no proper merge. Can you refer me to the diff to which your are referring please? Just Chilling (talk) 22:33, 25 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Your attempt to censor my contribution to Framingham Public Schools

[edit]

Today, you removed my contribution to the Framingham Public School District article claiming it does not have reliable references. I maintain that my contribution follows the Wikipedia guidelines: neutral tone, verifiable, and no original research. My references are reliable and verifiable. To illustrate my point, I will include the contribution you removed in the Employment section I attempted to add:

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on J. Lawrence Cogan requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. – S. Page protection requests

[edit]

When it's one IP disrupting articles it's best to report them to WP:AIV (which you did). It's faster and page protection is very likely to be declined if the issue can be solved with one block. Thanks for looking out for these BLPs, BTW. --NeilN talk to me 14:18, 9 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Request on 04:06:15, 28 July 2015 for assistance on AfC submission by Jetcitypd

[edit]

The Seattle Times is a reliable source... It has won ten Pulitzers. I honestly do not know what I am missing here. The Seattle Times and another newspaper were cited... If newspapers who won many Pulitzers do not qualify as a reliable source I do not know what does. Can you please give me guidance and not simply punt with a link? Should I cut all other sources? It's hard to find stuff on living artists that are not well known... That's what I would like to do; add artists who are known but not hugely popular. Help would be nice... Got any tips?

Proposed deletion of Frank Page (cartoonist)

[edit]

I got your talk page notification on this because I originally created it as a redirect. I'm pretty sure that's what it should be anyway. Is it best to just wait until it's deleted and recreate it as a redirect, or convert to a regular deletion discussion, or...? Thanks, Pi.1415926535 (talk) 00:59, 4 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Could you explain me why this is according to you an attack page? It is just stating facts, in my opinion. Otherwise this would be an attack page too: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosie_Ruiz — Preceding unsigned comment added by 262jelle (talkcontribs) 18:11, 12 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Nancy Newman

[edit]

Hi Hirolovesswords - Apologies for my lack of tech savvy - I'm trying my very best to communicate with you - I realize you have the best of intentions with regard to accuracy in mind. Please know I do too. I am a family member of Ms. Newman's and unfortunately that writer from the Toronto Star over two decades ago made several factual errors which where not corrected back in the day. If you search CHCH history, she did not work there, Newman is her family name not the other, to put the other on the primary line is not a true depiction, she also truly began her career at Channel 10 in Toronto. If you please look at her substantiated bio's from CNN and YES Network, they are the truth. If you see fit, please allow my updates, they are facts right off the pages of CNN and YES Network which are not more than 23 year old mistakes never corrected prior to the internet. Thank-you very much for your time and attention. Respectfully, Teekanis. September 9th, 2015. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Teekanis (talkcontribs) 18:19, 9 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hello, again. I was having trouble saving the citation in regular mode but was able to get it back in. Unfortunately, by the time I did and saved you had gone in and deleted. Are you able to call up and reinstate edits? I have the link to the citation source but unfortunately I have now lost the work I had saved since the article now defaults back to the post-deletion version Elishaholbrooklives (talk) 05:05, 25 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

City Managers and from

[edit]

While the logic at the CFD is sound, it does not effect the people from association. The categories were properly renamed and now match say the mayor categories in that respect, but as with the mayor categories, the city manager categories should also be in the people from food chain. Now, yes, mayors would have to have lived in the city so it is easier for people to understand they should be in the from cat, but the city categories and the people from city categories have long been broader than just residents. For example from Boston's people cat, "The following people were born in, residents of, or otherwise closely associated with the city of Boston, Massachusetts." This "or otherwise closely associated" would encompass city managers, and is a very common part of the headers for these categories. Aboutmovies (talk) 23:24, 29 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

William J. Phelan

[edit]

Hello. I just added an edit which was deleted due to a reason of it containing commentary that did not adhere to a neutral point of view. All of the information in my update was completely factual and without any opinion or commentary. Can you tell me where I was non-compliant? If I need to look for positive things that Mr Phelan did, I am happy to. I am just talking based on what happened in his tenure in my town. If a larger contextual narrative needs to happen in concert with edits covering his time in the position I dealt with him during to better capture the larger scope of his political career then I'd be happy to try and do that. Thanks. Elishaholbrooklives (talk) 22:57, 21 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Deprod

[edit]

I have removed the {{prod}} tag from Robert Duax, which you proposed for deletion. I'm leaving this message here to notify you about it. If you still think the article should be deleted, please don't add the {{prod}} template back to the article. Instead, feel free to list it at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Thanks for expanding that article on Fred C. Langone

Wow, that was fast! After I commented on the talk page, I went to my "sandbox" and started working on a revision. Then I came back to delete my grouchy comment, and you had already expanded the article! LOL. Thank you! I'd like to add a couple more things, if you don't mind. I'll come back tomorrow. I went ahead and added a few things. I think that between the unflattering stuff that I'd have been inclined to leave out, and the somewhat nicer things I added, it's actually pretty balanced. Thanks again. Rosekelleher (talk) 04:37, 16 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Park'N'Fly scandal

[edit]

If you're interested, here's something that might make an interesting article. It's referenced obliquely in several articles - including the work I'm currently doing on the Grand Junction Railroad and Depot Company - but it's certainly worthy of an article to its own. If you happen to be interested in taking it on - and your political and legal research abilities are worlds ahead of mine - let me know and I'll be happy to help with the rail history portion. Cheers, Pi.1415926535 (talk) 03:28, 14 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Ummm...you just threatened to block me for following the guidelines. What gives???

[edit]

Please explain the warning you left on my talk page [1]. It was absolutely unnecessary, as reverting unsourced material is well within the guidelines. In what universe is abiding by the guidelines considered "disruptive editing" punishable by blocking? Please refer to this discussion. 47.55.192.66 (talk) 00:40, 10 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Gia Scala

[edit]

There is no vandalism, I studied, researched, interviewed Gia's family and wrote the only existing biography about Gia Scala. Gia was a naturalized American, her father was Sicilian, born upon an agricultural estate near Mili Marina, her mother came from Derreenaclough, within the Barony of South Durkeron, County Kerry, at the time of her mother's birth in 1906, the people who came from that part of Ireland were called Free Irish. While Gia was born in Great Britain, she became a naturalized US citizen. As you know, the British retain their citizenship even though they may obtain citizenship of other countries. Please do not hesitate to contact me for corrections. However, if you have discovered other information about Gia that is not in the book I wrote, please do not hesitate to contact me. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.0.232.67 (talk) 04:31, 17 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
