Not sure I agree that manual is the best, although it does offer the most control. Personally I prefer Aperture mode for landscapes, portraits, etc. And Shutter priority for sports, action, etc. I did notice you do some nice macro work, which I'll admit usually gives you the time for full manual. If you have a decent understanding of the triangle (ISO, shutter speed, and aperture), then working with some presets can save time, and maybe even allow you to capture a shot you might have missed while adjusting everything manually. Auto ISO can help too, if you set your upper and lower limits to what your camera can handle. (although I don't practice what I preach on that usually, I've gotten pretty fast at switching it to what I want). You make some good points, and I may be biased in that I tend to photograph still objects giving me plenty of time. These days I am shooting on a Canon EOS 5D Mark III. My favorite lens by far is a prime Canon EF 400mm f/5.6L USM. It is great for long range and also objects about the size of a cat's head. HighInBC ^{Need help? Just ask.} 00:23, 6 June 2021 (UTC)

SWEET! While I'm mostly a Nikon guy, I do have an older version (5D Mark II) that I pull out when I'm looking for those Canon colors. I'm jealous of that 400mm :-). If you're putting down that kind of cash for camera equipment, then you're obviously no amateur plinking about - so disregard everything I said above (sorry to have interrupted). Could I politely ask you to dial it back a bit with your discussions with Valereee? She's one of our better admins, calm and level-headed, but also not afraid to call a spade a spade when it's important for the encyclopedia. Part of the problem is if you take a long wiki-break, then charge headfirst into RfA discussions where you give the impression you don't understand the issues, you're going to attract complaints. Hi, part of your decline of the user's unblock request was incorrrect: "The vast majority of your edits are to user talk pages, very little to actually writing articles." The user had only 50 edits to user Talk pages; I think you meant to say that the vast majority of their edits were to their user space: 4,712 out of about 4,990 edits, not counting a handful of deleted edits. I did not consider it to be a genuine threat. Regardless I passed it on to the foundation emergency contact for them to assess. I suppose better safe than sorry, it does meet the criteria for revdel.
