Restoring Trevor Braun page
Hi HickoryOughtShirt?4,
I wanted to reach out asking if you could reconsider your deletion of Trevor Braun's page and having it added back. In this request I will address the 2 complaints raised, G11 and G12.
For G11 dealing with advertising and promotion, I want to start off by saying I created this page on my own. After seeing his performance in Dash & Lily that appeared on Netflix, I was curious to know more about the actor, as I am sure others fans of the show had. In my research I found that he had notable roles in Broadway plays including The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast. After seeing this, I found that his experience had the notoriety for the creation of a Wikipedia page and enhance the other pages he was associated with from his work and personal life. In order to finish complete the page I looked online to find a photo but was unable to find one up to standard. I reached out to the actor through social media asking if he had any images I could use and he sent me the one that appeared in his infobox and I claimed it as my copyright. Granted, if this is not the proper way to do so I will look for another image (or not include one altogether) to ensure I do not break any guidelines and have the page restored.
Relating to G12, the website that came into question, https://moviefit.me/es/persons/1315260-trevor-braun was created after mine. As I explained in my original appeal the Wikipedia page was created on November 18 while the Moviefit page was created on November 24. 6 days after I created mine another website copied all of my wording as well as the image I used. I should not be penalized for someone else stealing my work and as a community, Wikipedia should look out for their editors and protect each other's intellectual property. By deleting my article, it comes across as my work being unappreciated despite nearly 3,000 people viewing my article within the first 30 days.
All I ask is you please reconsider the deletion of this page. Thank you and please feel free to reach out if you have any additional questions some we can resolve this issue accordingly. Slasher2point1 (talk) 17:38, 18 December 2020 (UTC)
Picture at Melissa R. Michelson
Hey! I can't remember if we talked about this particular picture (or was it another picture?), but I thought that the picture you introduced in this diff was specifically released to Wikipedia, but tonight it was removed in this diff. Just wanted to give you a heads up because I thought I remembered the copyright on this image was totally fine. But I might be remembering a conversation we had about another picture - Astrophobe (talk) 05:08, 19 December 2020 (UTC)
- Or rather, should I say, the file was deleted on commons here. - Astrophobe (talk) 05:09, 19 December 2020 (UTC)
- Astrophobe, I don't think it was this image we discussed but I have messaged Dr. Michelson and she's going to try and upload it a different way. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 13:36, 19 December 2020 (UTC)
- Ahh all right, I misremembered. Your image additions are just too prolific to keep track of! :) - Astrophobe (talk) 18:36, 19 December 2020 (UTC)

NA sports panel
Hey, sorry to ask last minute, but is there anything I need to know ahead of this WikiConference sports panel? I have the Zoom link, but I dunno if there's anything else I should know. Thanks, IagoQnsi (talk) 19:28, 12 December 2020 (UTC)
- IagoQnsi, I sent you a link to the slideshow we'll be using. Feel free to add to it. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 19:29, 12 December 2020 (UTC)
- @HickoryOughtShirt?4: Hmm, I don't seem to have received it. I assume you sent it via email? I haven't gotten anything that I can find in my inbox. My email is haydenschiff@gmail.com if you want to send it again directly (maybe something went wonky with Wikipedia's emailer). Thanks, IagoQnsi (talk) 19:33, 12 December 2020 (UTC)
- IagoQnsi, Alright, let's see if that worked. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 19:34, 12 December 2020 (UTC)

For all the sports-related work you have done, both in content and organizing the North American sports talk for WCNA 2020 Daniel Case (talk) 21:32, 12 December 2020 (UTC) |
BTW, I mentioned Baseball Rule that day ... for an article at the intersection of sports and law, it's interesting. Daniel Case (talk) 01:56, 23 December 2020 (UTC)
- Daniel Case, Hockey really could use that. Ariana Grande got hit with a hockey puck TWICE! as a child. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 04:24, 23 December 2020 (UTC)
- Actually, it has been applied to hockey as well ... see further down in the article. Thanks to Brittanie Cecil, we now have those long nets hanging down behind the goals as well as higher glass on the ends.
I don't know where Ariana was sitting when she was hit, but if it was along the sides and she was seated ... well, the same rule applies as with baseball: in that situation you are assumed to have been paying attention to the game, so no lawsuit.
But if it was while she was a child, at (I imagine) youth games ... well, that's tougher, since those rinks usually don't have the kind of protection options NHL arenas do. Daniel Case (talk) 23:34, 23 December 2020 (UTC)
- Daniel Case I should have provided a link. She was actually the first person to be hit by a puck in the Florida Panthers new arena. [1]. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 23:37, 23 December 2020 (UTC)
