key control
I will revise what I wrote The information currently on the site tells one nothing about about this esoteric term. Thirty years go I wrote the only article that's ever been written on KEY CONTROL published in Security Management Magazine. To this day no one has written one any better. It seems the locksmith industry likes the system just fine the way it is...CHAOTIC.
ALOA Associated Locksmiths of America as I pointed out in my contribution has no opinion about key control. You'd think they could provide a written specification on sound key control, they can't and won't. I'd venture to say you don't know anything about the subject either. What's the point of having a key control section on Wiki if it tells ya nothing about the subject. The contributions there are esoteric to any lay person looking for information to learn about the subject. What's there is understandable by locksmiths.
What's posted as key control is worthless when in fact its a huge part of security. I spoke about my product without mentioning it by name .... generically its known as a KEYLESS LOCKBOX which means nothing to anyone, that's why it had to be explained in terms of its function. Go to my website ... www.keysure.net ... educate yourself. I wrote generically describing how the existing products function. KEYSURE is the wild card of the key control industry. It's the highest form of key control.
What specifically did you object to so I don't have to guess in my revision.LEONARDO SIDERI```` — Preceding unsigned comment added by Leonardotoo (talk • contribs) 15:45, 30 November 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Leonardotoo and welcome to Wikipedia. I appreciate your expertise in this subject and you might want to consider joining one of our Wikiprojects like Wikipedia:WikiProject Metalworking. Moving on, the problem with what you wrote was that it wasn't written formally, as in, in Wikipedia tone. For example, you often used the words "You" and asked hypothetical questions. This is fine for a magazine but not for a formally written article. Secondly, you didn't cite any reliable sources except for the "KEYSURE.NET," and added with the informal tone, it made me think it was promotional. If you want to write about "KEYLESS LOCKBOX" you will need to adopt a formal, professional tone (think like a journal article) and secondary sources to prove it is a notable, significant topic. This is often difficult for new users to adjust to Wikipedia tone so I suggest editing other articles a bit more before jumping in to create a new article or any such major edits. If you have further queries do not be afraid to ask here or at the WP:Help desk. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 19:18, 30 November 2018 (UTC)
- Leonardotoo Also, I'm not sure how I forgot to mention this but you should not be using Wikipedia as a vehicle for promotion. You said you created the KEYLESS LOCKBOX and therefore have a conflict of interest. You should not be advertising this product on Wikipedia or stating a personal opinion about the Associated Locksmiths of America regarding your product. Please refrain from using Wikipedia to promote KEYLESS LOCKBOX or KEYSURE.NET. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 19:39, 30 November 2018 (UTC)

Hello, I saw your thanks for the username warning on Oaklandhouse's user talk page and it drew my interest. Thanks for replying to that editor as I probably wouldn't have seen it and Wikipedia might have lost a productive editor. Happy Editing, Kb03 (talk) 21:16, 4 December 2018 (UTC)
Need help For Article
SIR I NEEED YOUR HELP IN PUBLISHING MY ARTICLE ON GOOLGE — Preceding unsigned comment added by SAJID ALI THAHIM (talk • contribs) 07:01, 7 December 2018 (UTC)
- Hi SAJID ALI THAHIM and welcome to Wikipedia. I suggest you go to your talk page (User talk:SAJID ALI THAHIM) and read the advice about not making autobiographies for yourself. However, even if this was not an autobiography there is, unfortunately, no way Draft:Sajid Thahim will ever get published in its current state. There is not sign of notability (per WP:Notability) and there are no references. I suggest you stop trying to write articles about yourself, which seems to be your only purpose on Wikipedia. Writing articles are hard. I suggest you edit other articles first (check out our community portal for ideas) and drop this issue. Pursuing this topic will only end badly, such as a block. Please try and show you are not just here to promote yourself and you want to actually help us expand knowledge. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 07:05, 7 December 2018 (UTC)
Camberwell Carrot
It is a real edit that needs t be made, not vandalism. Camberwell Carrot is an expression deriving from this film. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.104.12.180 (talk) 05:25, 9 December 2018 (UTC)
- Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. I realized it was not vandalism so that is why I did not warn you as such. If you look at the film's page there is no mention of Camberwell Carrot except for the quote of a reference. This does not allow readers to understand what it means. The page Camberwell Carrot current redirects to, does. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 05:30, 9 December 2018 (UTC)
Natina Reed
Hello,
As a former friend of Ms. Reed, I find that bit of information to be pointless and a half truth. For someone of a celebrity status, that sort of information only serves the purpose of tarnishing her legacy - especially when the source below mentions that she was living in a hotel (before moving into her new home.) Had the article mentioned the latter, I wouldn't have minded. Can we please somehow either fix this or delete that part of the paragraph?
Thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2605:E000:1525:A504:8DF8:15CE:DEEC:64E2 (talk) 05:41, 9 December 2018 (UTC)
- Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. You should raise this issue on the article's talk page Talk: Natina Reed. By source below do you mean the footnote? You can suggest leaving just a footnote on the article's talk page but removing such well-sourced information for no other reason than personal opinion may not go over well. The quote about her living in a hotel seems to come directly from her mother even. Before posting on the talk page I suggest you read over some of our policies and guidelines like Wikipedia:Writing better articles, neutral point of view, and our conflict of interest policy. Just copy and paste what you posted here on the talk page (especially concerning your relationship with Reed). Since you have a conflict of interest you are strongly discouraged from editing her page. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 05:49, 9 December 2018 (UTC)
Re. Brett Queener
Well, I personally witnessed the events described in the edit, e.g., the unsportsmanlike acts that caused him to be expelled and that 1-2 deputies and school admins. escorted him from the venue. Hundreds of others did as well. Naples Daily News April 13, 2017 wrote:
Gulf Coast midfielder Luke Curran had four goals, comprising all of the Sharks’ offense for the night except for two late inconsequential goals. Gulf Coast coach Brett Queener was unavailable for comment after being ejected. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hockeyguy0302 (talk • contribs) 04:06, 13 December 2018 (UTC)
- Hockeyguy0302 Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. What is stated above is very different from what you wrote on his page. I couldn't find a source for the quote about sportsmanship and when adding controversial material about a biography of a living person you need good reliable sources. One line about him being ejected doesn't deserve mention on his article. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 04:09, 13 December 2018 (UTC)
Removed something
I had a citation on Paxton Pomykals page. So this does not make sense on why it was removed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Annasulliii (talk • contribs) 06:12, 13 December 2018 (UTC)
- @Annasulliii: Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. As I explained on your talk page [1] the citation did not back up what you added. It just showed at one point in time he had a girlfriend. Nothing about her school, sorority, or that they broke up. Even if you did have a reference, that fact that at one point he had a girlfriend and they broke up falls under WP:NOTNEWS and WP:DUE and would not have a place on his Wikipedia page. You also randomly added this under high school career with no reference either. References are important because if the information is not verifiable than anyone could change it and we would have no way of knowing the truth. As well, please understand that if you are Hicks or have any connection with either Pomykal or Hicks you have a conflict of interest and should not be editing their related pages.HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 06:15, 13 December 2018 (UTC)

Would you please check before removing my additions?
Hello, I am a staff of Hong Kong Baptist University. I have been adding project links to relevant pages of Wikipedia today. These links are permanent websites containing research results, data sets, or primary sources of our faculty members.
For example, I was adding "Hong Kong Solar Map" (http://digital.lib.hkbu.edu.hk/solarmap/) under "Solar Map", and "Tribute Data Curation" (https://digital.lib.hkbu.edu.hk/history/tribute-gift.php?lang=en) under "Tribute" and "Imperial Chinese Tributary System".
However, I found that all the links that I've added was removed by you (I suppose...). Would you please check? If I did not violate Wikipedia's rules, would you please help revert all my additions?
Thank you in advance.
Best, Rebekah Wong — Preceding unsigned comment added by 158.182.30.115 (talk) 07:41, 14 December 2018 (UTC)
- Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. I removed the links because, as I correctly assumed, you were spamming links that promoted your university. Please read over our conflict of interest policy. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 07:44, 14 December 2018 (UTC)
Then, how could we contribute our university knowledge to Wikipedia, in particular those projects are highly relevant to and can bring academic value to the topics? I saw American universities' project links also included their university names. Do you want me to remove our university name then it would work? Please advise. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 158.182.30.115 (talk) 07:50, 14 December 2018 (UTC)
- Hello again! Would you mind giving me examples of American universities with links like this? I looked at the link for solarmap and I do not see how it added more information than the article already has (a key aspect of our excluding external link policy). I think some of your links work as "neutral and accurate material that is relevant to an encyclopedic understanding of the subject and cannot be integrated into the Wikipedia article due to copyright issues, amount of detail (such as professional athlete statistics, movie or television credits, interview transcripts, or online textbooks), or other reasons" (see WP:ELYES) but merely having a map did not seem relevant. This is why I did not remove all of your links. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 07:57, 14 December 2018 (UTC)
Thanks for your quick feedback!
On this page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jean-Baptiste_Lully), the last external link is from the University of North Texas, and I was trying to add this website: https://digital.lib.hkbu.edu.hk/OTCL/
I was also trying to add this website (https://digital.lib.hkbu.edu.hk/sunyatsen/index-en.php) with lots of park photos, data, and info to "Zhongshan Park" and "Sun Yat Sen Park". I think at least these two links should stay.... thank you so much. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 158.182.30.115 (talk) 08:43, 14 December 2018 (UTC)
Robert S Katz Reverts
I have 14 pages of links, pictures, and documentation that would clearly show the information posted about him is fake. The image of him, is a stage photo by a company called Glass River Media. It part of their promotional video. If I'm not allowed to post links that show who he really is, how am I supposed to disprove the info is also false on his page?
- @BadIdeaToLie: Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. As I stated on your talk page, if your only purpose on Wikipedia is to bash Katz than that is going to be a problem. Wikipedia is not to be used to WP:Right great wrongs. You cannot turn the page into an attack against him. Before you proceed, you need to read our biography of a living person policy, balance and due weight to issues policies. Failing to follow these rules could lead to a block so please tread carefully. Now, if you look at Talk:Robert S. Katz, you can see that Sphilbrick, an admin on Wikipedia, has already trimmed the page a lot. I strongly recommend posting on the talk page your edits before actually editing the page. It is hard for new editors to write articles that follow our policies so posting on the talk page will allow for other editors to help. For example, he is not notable for being a firefighter. He did not get a Wikipedia page because he is a firefighter so removing everything from the lead and replacing it just with firefighter is not okay. Fiesta Broadway
Hi, I made the recent change to the Fiesta Broadway page. The referenced attendance in the lead paragraph of the event description is highly inaccurate. The quoted attendance in the article referenced was for a specific location and time and not a total attendance figure. I can provide photographic evidence from recent events that will clearly show this is inaccurate — Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.90.187.46 (talk) 21:23, 20 December 2018 (UTC)
- Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. It would be better if you could find a different reference to back up what you saying. Another option is that you can just adjust the wording so it says "attendance at this time at this location". You can also bring it up on the article's talk page or if that is inactive ask at the WP:HELPDESK. They may have knowledge about this. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 21:33, 20 December 2018 (UTC)
Jamie Olesiak edits
Why are these edits "not constructive"? It is a relevant event and was reported on by numerous sports news outlets. Sources were clearly recorded. Relevant events should be added without bias. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.47.204.135 (talk) 19:43, 21 December 2018 (UTC)
- Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. While I was mostly talking about the vandalism that occurred, not everything needs to be reported. See WP:NOTNEWS. Just because something occurred doesn't mean it always needs to be recorded. If he is placed on IR then it might be important but Wilson gets into a lot of fights. Not every one needs to be reported on. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 20:13, 21 December 2018 (UTC)
- By the way, I never called your edit "not constructive." I reverted to the last version I knew was unvandalized so I said it was "last good" [4].HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 20:24, 21 December 2018 (UTC)
Wilson gets in lots of fights but rarely do they end up getting reported on by multiple sports news outlets. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.47.204.135 (talk) 18:33, 23 December 2018 (UTC)
- Hi again! I would say his fights do get covered by lots of news papers and websites. It seems like every time I turn on Tv or look at Sportsnet it's covered. So yes, I would say they get covered quite frequently. I would argue it's just routine news stories. After all, "old time hockey eh?" Part of WP:NOTNEWS is that we don't cover every breaking news story or routine sports stories. As I said above, if he gets put on IR or it significantly impacts his career then it is important. Why would someone 5 years from now need to know about this fight? I'll give you an example. Erik Karlsson hit LA rookie Austin Wagner last night and is having a hearing [5]. If Karlsson is suspended, I would say people can put it on his Wiki because it is significantly impacting his career and players do not often get suspended. Does this make sense? If it was just a regular hit than no. It would just be routine. Anyways, I hope this helps! HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 18:48, 23 December 2018 (UTC)
Regading removal of edits for Ramanujan College Page
Dear Sir/Mam,
I am writing to request you that I have gone through the details of your various policies, terms, conditions and copyright rules relating to adding, editing and uploading contents. I seek to inform you that my edits to the Ramanujan College are in conformance of your all guidelines. The edit contained completely neutral, non-commercial and factual information regarding the academic institution, i.e., Ramanujan College. There were not even any exaggerated claims or any marketing-advertising propaganda. It was only to inform masses about the institution which is in line with the Wikipedia's vision to make reliable, unbiased, fair, transparent and verifiable information freely available to all. So, I kindly request you to approve and permit all my edits to the Ramanujan College page as soon as possible in the larger interest of thousands of college students and the general public who will be greatly benefitted by accessing it on your platform. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Arnav Kumar 37 (talk • contribs) 16:29, 23 December 2018 (UTC)
- @Arnav Kumar 37: Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Please read the guidelines I posted on your page about editing with a conflict of interet. I see you have still yet to disclose it on your user page. Secondly, your edits were overtly promotional and unsourced so I will not be re-adding them. Please understand that Wikipedia is meant to be an encyclopedia, not a supplementary website for your college. Please read over our neutral point of view policy for a better understanding of how to write neutral articles. Since you have a conflict of interest, you should make WP:Edit requests on Talk: Ramanujan College after your disclose your conflict of interest on the appropriate pages. If you have further questions, don't be afraid to ask here, at the WP:Teahouse, or WP:Helpdesk. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 18:40, 23 December 2018 (UTC)
Dr. Thomas Oakland
Hello Hickory,
Thank you for your help on the Thomas Oakland page. As a brief history, the page was created by someone unfamiliar with his professional work, likely someone who saw news stories of his murder. Frankly, I don't think that he would have ever wanted a Wikipedia page, but since it is up, it's important to properly document his contributions to his profession and diminish the sensationalism of his murder. Any help you can provide would be appreciated. Doakland (talk) 03:35, 24 December 2018 (UTC)doakland
- @Doakland: Hi Doakland and welcome to Wikipedia. Well, you are off an okay start by declaring your conflict of interest. The next step would be to either let go of editing his page (which is strongly recommended) or using WP:Edit requests on the talk page. It is very likely whoever created his page was unfamiliar with him. All the pages I have created are about people I found about a few hours to days beforehand. This helps me write in a neutral point of view which is vital to this encyclopedia. The problem with your edits is that you are making it into a memorial about him. For example, we do not start pages with "so-and-so was a world-renowned professor in the field of international school psychology." We typically say their name, date of birth and death, and what they are notable for in completely neutral terms. As well, having an indiscriminatory and very long list of all of their accomplishments goes along with the memorial idea. Before submitting edit requests (although again, it is strongly recommended you just walk away) you should read up on people similar to Dr. Oakland to see how their articles are written. If you have more questions, do not be afraid to ask here, at the WP:Help desk, or Wikipedia:Teahouse (which is a place for new editors to ask questions). Jean Beauvoir
Hi Hickory,
Thank you for your message. I just went back to the site and saw that pertinent, sourced and verifiable information has been removed leaving the site in a poor condition as compared to a few days ago. The page is missing over 50% of my career and achievements.
Myra is my executive assistant, but an in-depth professional researcher communications specialist for US law enforcement and one of the best in her field. Thus why she has been hired. She has in-depth knowledge as to sourced material, verifiable info, legal aspects etc. The information that was edited regarding Jonghyun (for example) was sent with details and a link to the #1 status on billboard, most viewed Video etc. This being “one” important aspect of my career and he being discussed everywhere from CNN, NBC, Fox, Fortune, Billboard, Rolling Stone and hundreds of other publications makes it problematic that it has been removed. I see that the entire section was removed at a crucial time.
I request that you at least put the site back to where it was previous to this edit and going forward including anything that is verifiable, which everything provided was, any further additions will be made with references which my team has in detail. That said, the page is at present missing over 50% of my career and achievements, which are all 100% documented and verifiable.
The purpose of people working on this on my behalf is specific to misinformation about my career across the internet, missing detail and mistakes such as this which are defamatory to me as an Artist and an executive.
The page at this very stage is in this direction with all the information which has been removed and is a problem. I also personally do not have the time to deal with this, as you can see, I am very busy working.
I’ve been working with Wikipedia for 10 years plus and have never encountered such issues across any sites.
I met Jimmy Wales when working with Bruce Springsteen/Steven Van Zandt several years ago when similar issues happened to Bruce. Is Jimmy still the CEO?
Wikipedia is everyone’s voice to the world and needs to reflect accuracy and the necessary information needed for others to make certain judgements.
Blocking my page from edits from sourced materials or removal of pertinent information by anyone, we would consider vandalism.
Please advise on the above requests so I can advise my team on next steps to resolve all of this promptly.
Thank you and I wish you Happy Holidays. Jean Jeanbeau (talk) 14:40, 23 December 2018 (UTC)
- @Jeanbeau: Hi Jeanbeau. Once again, please don't worry about not having the time to deal with this as you should not be editing your own page anyways. I cannot stress enough that your team does not own the page and thus don't control who edits and who doesn't. By the way, blocking you from editing is not our definition of vandalism. Please keep some good faith here as myself, and other editors, are just trying to follow Wikipedia guidelines. I know you haven't run into this issue before, and it can be distressing, but we are cracking down harder on conflict of interest editors and you really should not have been able to get away with this for so long. There are so many pages on Wikipedia that we cannot look at every single one but I am lucky to stumble onto this one. I am sorry to tell you but I will not put the page back to the previous state because it was overtly promotional, a bunch of namecruft, and unsourced. I know you say the information is verifiable but we need you to provide reliable sources backing it up. Myra did not provide many sources to back up the information. Please use WP:Edit requests on the talk page once you have collected your sources. Happy holidays! HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 19:06, 23 December 2018 (UTC)
Hi Hickory,
I am in receipt of your message and thank you. Myra or members of my team have not been involved with this page until recently. I did note your comment of “shouldn’t have gotten away for this long”, which is incorrect. Materials on that page were submitted by other parties except for the recent edit Myra had submitted and was rejected or minor detailed edits submitted through my account. Until recently, I have not personally viewed the page except on rare occasions. I was only made aware recently by companies and others that my page was out of date, did not include factual materials, contained some misinformation and necessary details, which should be viewable by the world. I appreciate the good faith efforts on your part, but verifiable sourced materials such as my work with Jonghyun were removed by you personally, whereby links and all relevant factual info were provided to you personally and through proper channels. This brings up question as such materials should not have been removed.
As previously mentioned, I do not have time to go line by line or check edit history etc., but it is of extreme importance to me that my name and likeness is represented correctly and factually across the web and that all such information is included without interference. In regard to overtly promotional, that has nothing to do with us and as you mentioned, there are thousands of Wiki pages that are far more promotional than mine. My concern is the facts.
When I referenced the last edit and state of site, I was referring to the site previous to Myra’s edit request.
This and other removal of verified information, details by various users and facts that many times I’m not aware of throughout the years is causing sustainable damages. Note that I’ve gone to Wikipedia to reference information about myself.
In closing, at this stage, I’m not 100% clear as to what has been changed or removed per your last edit, except what I’ve mentioned. I have children and it’s Christmas after all... It would be helpful and appreciated if you could provide me or point us to where the content resides previous to your edit, so we can see where things are really at and proceed accordingly. I do note your reference to submitting verified materials through the “WP edit requests - talk” , will prevent any further issues and will advise. Thank you and Happy Holidays once again... Jean Beauvoir Jeanbeau (talk) 17:30, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Jeanbeau. I completely understand your reasoning behind the edits. It is absolutely understandable that you want to avoid misrepresentation. The problem with this is the information was often unsourced, which just adds to the possibility of misinformation, and added in a not neutral way. Yes, I did remove cited material but that was because it was just a list of people you have worked with. That is considered "namecruft", as in just adding names to bolster one's own image. Think of it like namedropping.
- Unfortunately, you are very correct in saying there are pages worse off than yours. As I said earlier, there are thousands of pages on Wikipedia and the community cannot get to them all. This doesn't mean promotional pages should stay just because others are worse, though. I am trying my best though to attack promotional pages and make them fit our encyclopedic style. You can find the past edits here in the page history. As you can see, I have added citations where none existed and removed a lot of promotional material and namecruft. Although you say "all information is verifiable" the burden is on you to provide those citations. I am also not sure how adding a citation needed tag next to "CEO/President of Hot Boy Music and Tigre Noire Music" and "He also writes and produces for other artists" and removing unsourced material that I could not find a source for is causing "sustainable damages." [6]. I urge you to read WP:BURDEN. I have tried to find sources for the content in the article (as you can see in the edit history) but really the burden is on your to add sources yourself. You should not re-add this material without sourcing and using "edit requets", please. Myra's edits at first seemed like spam to me because they kept using "X-apple-data-detectors://23" which does not link to a page. The ones that didn't use "X-apple-data-detectors://23" were completely unsourced.
- By the way, what I meant by "shouldn't have gotten away with it" was more regarding how someone in the community should have noticed that the page was being edited by someone with a conflict of interest sooner. After all, your username does not hide your affiliation and you even admit here to being the person of the article by saying "my". Regardless, I am very pleased with the conversation we are having and am very grateful for your willingness to take the time and understand my reasoning. Using edit requests will be the best way to add information moving forward. Happy holidays! HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 22:20, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
