A tag has been placed on Draft:The Beat Goes On Inc., requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hi,
I am unsure why this article is being declined for lack of sources. I am using information directly from the company’s website as well as the owners of the company. Herosarm (talk) 20:14, 4 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I’ve included references to official city websites, a third party and impartial interview, and relevant links for the business itself. I am unsure why this is still being declined. Herosarm (talk) 19:23, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The submission is very far from being approved. It would also be declined for being blatant advertising. Note that WP:COI states that "COI editing is strongly discouraged on Wikipedia. It undermines public confidence and risks causing public embarrassment to the individuals and companies being promoted. Editors with a COI are sometimes unaware of whether or how much it has influenced their editing. If COI editing causes disruption, an administrator may opt to place blocks on the involved accounts." I suggest rather familiarising yourself with Wikipedia and contributing to topics unrelated to your COI where you can learn what is required. Greenman (talk) 20:43, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
I have included reference links that were not written by myself or the business owner in the cited sources. I have also included objective language. If you could point to what language exactly is reading like an advertisement and not like a business’ biography I would greatly appreciate that as I have rewritten this several times and it keeps being declined. Herosarm (talk) 18:21, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello,
Could you please provide more context as to what is causing this article to be declined? The language is objective and the cited sources are third party except for one or two that direct the reader to expanded information about the company.
Thank you Herosarm (talk) 22:14, 31 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, could I please receive additional information as to why this has been declined? This is written objectively. Herosarm (talk) 03:59, 14 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent article submission has been rejected and cannot be resubmitted. If you have further questions, you can ask at the Articles for creation help desk or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help. The reasons left by Iwaqarhashmi were: This topic is not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia. This submission is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia.

Hello,
I am unsure why a popular Canadian business is not suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia. I can list hundreds of other businesses that have their own pages, including competitors in the same space. Herosarm (talk) 20:50, 11 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia is not a directory or database of things that exist. Competitors meriting articles(if they do, they may not and we just haven't dealt with it yet) does not mean your business does. Only articles that are classified as good articles should be used as an example or model. If you have a good article that is similar to your draft, please point it out.
Typically, articles are written by independent editors wholly unconnected with the topic in any way. 331dot (talk) 21:49, 11 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
After reading the cited article on “good articles” you attached, I do not see how this article does not qualify nor do I understand how factual information about a popular Canadian business is not something permitted on the platform.
Reviewing the article attached good articles are “well-written, contain factually accurate and verifiable information, are broad in coverage, neutral in point of view, stable, and illustrated, where possible, by relevant images with suitable copyright licenses.” I’ve had to edit the article multiple times because it was deemed promotional, now that I have taken out all superlative information and extensive content about the business as a whole it is being rejected for a different reason altogether. Herosarm (talk) 21:55, 11 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia is not for merely providing "factual information". It is factual information to say that my local grocery store has a sale on oranges, but that is not valid encyclopedia content. As I said, Wikipedia is not a place for businesses to tell about themselves. We want to know what others say about the business and what makes it a notable business. What are the three best independent reliable sources that discuss your business in depth, on their own, not based on materials from the business?
Please examine some articles that are actually classified as good articles to see what is being looked for. 331dot (talk) 22:51, 11 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I’d like to request an additional review from another reviewer. I merely responded quoted your own citation. Herosarm (talk) 22:59, 11 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You are free to do that, but the response will be the same. You seem to fundamentally misunderstand what is being looked for, and seem to be disregarding my advice. 331dot (talk) 23:13, 11 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of The Beat Goes On Inc. (Record Store)

[edit]

Hello Herosarm,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged The Beat Goes On Inc. (Record Store) for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

Hello, I contested the speedy deletion and would like to request reconsideration. This is a factual account of a business operating in Canada, it is not advertising but rather an encyclopedic biography of a Canadian business. Herosarm (talk) 20:30, 26 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
