License tagging for Image:1261.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:1261.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 09:04, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

Image:Private sözlük.JPG listed for deletion
[edit]If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.
If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.
If you have any questions please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. —Pilotguy (go around) 23:11, 9 March 2007 (UTC)Unspecified source for Image:Marilyn.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Marilyn.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 13:33, 26 March 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rossrs 13:33, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
PS
[edit]For wikification, just follow the links on the template. It basically means that there needs to be blue links in the article. And it also needs to be cleaned up since it doesn't look an encyclopedic article, but more like a random website. It should be written in an impersonal and objective tone. Statements like "You can do this" shouldn't be there. I have to go, but if you have any other questions, feel free to contact me. Baristarim 19:57, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
By the way, I was thinking that maybe you would like to get involved with Wikipedia:WikiProject Turkey - we need all the help that we can get! There you can also find and contact users who are trying to improve Turkey-related articles. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Baristarim 07:39, 7 April 2007 (UTC)

Cheers! Baristarim 17:31, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
Private Sözlük article
[edit]Hi! Wikify means putting things in wiki format, by adding hyperlinks to related concepts, which appear as blue. Clean-up is just that, the article needs to be made similar in format to other Wikipedia articles and it needs to be checked for grammar, a neutral point of view etc. so that it becomes encyclopedic. The tags show that someone thought these had to be done. Read Help:Contents/Editing Wikipedia, this should give you all the tools needed to fix the article and let you know what is expected. Regards, --Free smyrnan 18:34, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
AfD nomination of Private Sözlük
[edit]An editor has nominated Private Sözlük, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Private Sözlük and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. A tag has been placed on Infantiphagia, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself.
If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Crunch13 17:03, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:Image:0076744.gif
[edit]Thank you for uploading Image:Image:0076744.gif. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. hbdragon88 03:36, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:Naoko.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Naoko.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:1261.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:1261.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:41, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Patricia Newcomb
[edit]A tag has been placed on Patricia Newcomb requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. TravellingCarithe Busy Bee 16:44, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Othreis, and it appears to be a substantial copy of http://www.theoi.com/Nymphe/NympheOthreis.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details.
This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 21:22, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
A tag has been placed on Othreis requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

The article Adnan Çolak has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Triwbe (talk) 10:56, 9 May 2010 (UTC)
The article Natasha Lytess has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Non-notable person, article unsourced for 3 years. Being associated with a notable person is not notability.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Kenilworth Terrace (talk) 19:56, 3 July 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of The Cat Lady
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on The Cat Lady requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.gog.com/game/the_cat_lady. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.
You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Zoetrope Interactive, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Transcend. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Your draft article, Draft:Carol Reed Mysteries
[edit]Hello, Hebele. It has been over six months since you last edited your Articles for Creation draft article submission, "Carol Reed Mysteries".
In accordance with our policy that Articles for Creation is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply and remove the {{db-afc}}

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.
Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Puffin Let's talk! 14:57, 25 June 2016 (UTC)
Hi. I was wondering if you'd be interested in setting up Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Turkey), based on Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). Now it's not a contest in itself, it's designed to motivate people to inspire others to improve content and build something which demonstrates the hard work going into the country which is visible. The focus is more on quality improvements but new articles are welcome too. Eventually a Turkish National Contest could be created to fuel it, like Wikipedia:Awaken the Dragon, in which contestants can choose to keep the Amazon vouchers themselves to buy their own books for more articles or put them into book fund to help editors further improve Turkish-related topics by giving them the books they want. It will begin though as purely an improvement drive. If interested, or you think anybody else might be interested, alert them and sign up on the Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Turkey talk page at the bottom. Thank you. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 14:12, 19 September 2016 (UTC)
Asian 10,000 Challenge invite
[edit]Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 02:08, 20 October 2016 (UTC)

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution
[edit] Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Diomedes into Aphrodite. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution

Speedy deletion nomination of Babys (mythology)
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Babys (mythology) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://mythreligion.philology.upatras.gr/files/dictionary/B.pdf. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Fram (talk) 15:32, 12 March 2020 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Babys (mythology) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

The file File:Private sözlük.JPG has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Uploaded for Private Sözlük. No other use.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 12:57, 5 December 2022 (UTC)
Hi
[edit]Thanks for your edits at Bennington Triangle. Sadly but all of Your sources need our criteria at [[WP:RS and WP:VERIFY, eg the cool stuff website. I am about to go to sleep or I’d say more. Talk tomorrow. Doug Weller talk 22:07, 10 March 2023 (UTC)
- I've reverted you, see my edit summary. You could ask at WP:RSN about Grunge and the author of the article, but unless you can show she's got publications that prove she is qualified enough I think people will say no. Doug Weller talk 11:35, 11 March 2023 (UTC)
- As far as I understand, a few people who were unrelated to each other (different ages, genders, etc.) disappeared in this area in a short period of time for unknown reasons and therefore a native horror writer coined this "Bennington Triangle" phase in a radio program and presented some pseudoscientific paranormal hypotheses about these people's disappearances. So what makes this subject important and notable? If you ask me what makes this subject noteworthy and grounded, I will tell you that it is all the native lore told by Native Americans. If you see this article in this aspect, I think the Wikipedia page about this subject is problematic all over because there are no scientific, historical, or theoretical informations or explanations for all this Bennington phenomenon in this wiki article. I think all this article should be rewritten at the base of this area's native folklore, because native folklore makes this subject notable and grounded in the historical aspect. I'm actually kind of surprised this article was nominated for deletion on September 3 (UTC), and the result of the discussion was to keep it. Don't get me wrong I think this subject has notability because of it's historical background especially when you consider Wikipedia rules, but they keep this article for the wrong reasons. Veganism
[edit]Pay attention to edit summaries when your version is reverted. I said: "Unreliable newspaper source; WP:UNDUE content". The Daily Mail is not a reliable newspaper. The content you added is minor and unnecessary, WP:UNDUE. Do not edit war. If you think this has significance to veganism (I do not), raise the topic on the talk page to establish consensus among other editors, WP:CON. Zefr (talk) 14:32, 3 August 2023 (UTC)
- I have no intention of starting an editing war. This person was a social media personality and died from anorexia because of her strict raw vegan lifestyle, and her death was mentioned in many notable sources. I gave more reliable references in my second edit, like the New York Post, and I think her death must be mentioned under the social media section. Hebele (talk) 13:29, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
- The second edit was reverted because the New York Post is generally regarded on Wikipedia as unreliable; see discussions about it at WP:RSN. Your edit was carelessly written, with grammatical mistakes throughout. Further, the story is less likely about her veganism than it is about refraining from water consumption and medical care. Overall, it's just a weak case about veganism, with poor writing and sources. Zefr (talk) 15:59, 4 August 2023 (UTC)

[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of stock characters, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages It and Henry Bowers. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Please use Edit Summaries
[edit]Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that one or more recent edit(s) you made did not have an edit summary. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or to provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief.
The edit summary field looks like this:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary, and then click the "Save" button. Thanks!
I notice that nearly every edit you have made so far has no edit summary.--David Tornheim (talk) 21:33, 15 February 2024 (UTC)
