Your request for undeletion
[edit]Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that a response has been made at Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion regarding a submission you made. The thread is Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Harry Nagle. JohnCD (talk) 13:53, 25 August 2014 (UTC)
Your page and your user page
[edit]I should first apologise that we do not explain clearly enough to new users that Wikipedia is not a social-networking site like LinkedIn or Facebook for people to write about themselves. That is strongly discouraged for reasons explained at Wikipedia is not about YOU| and Wikipedia:Autobiography.
If you do wish to write about yourself, submitting a draft by way of WP:Articles for creation, as you have done, is the right way to go about it, so that it can be reviewed by an uninvolved user. It will not be accepted in its present form: read WP:Your first article for advice, and note particularly that Wikipedia is quite selective about subjects: the test is called Wikipedia:Notability and is not a matter of opinion but has to be demonstrated by showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." Significant means more than just listing-type mentions; reliable excludes Myspace, Facebook, LinkedIn, blogs, places where anyone can post anything; independent excludes the subject's own website, affiliated ones and anything based on press releases. The test is, have people not connected with the subject thought it significant enough to write substantial comment about? More detail at WP:Notability (people) and WP:Notability (summary).
I have deleted the copy of the same text from your user page, because Wikipedia user pages are not like those at social-networking sites. They are intended for the volunteers, who are here to help build the encyclopedia, to say something about themselves and their Wikipedia work, to assist communication within the project. Their use is explained at WP:NOTWEBHOST:
"Wikipedians have their own user pages, but they should be used primarily to present information relevant to working on the encyclopedia. Limited biographical information is allowed, but user pages should not function as personal webpages or be repositories for large amounts of material that is irrelevant to collaborating on Wikipedia. If you are looking to make a personal webpage or blog or to post your résumé, please make use of one of the many free providers on the Internet or any hosting included with your Internet account."

Your draft article, Draft:Harry Nagle
[edit]Hello, Harrynagle. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Harry Nagle".
The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply {{db-afc}}
or {{db-g13}}
code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.
If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by one of two methods (don't do both): 1) follow the instructions at WP:REFUND/G13, or 2) copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Draft:Harry Nagle}}
, paste it in the edit box at this link, and click "Save page". An administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.
Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. HasteurBot (talk) 04:00, 31 March 2015 (UTC)
