Thanks for the contributions to smarta. Because of the overwhelmingly predominance of Advaita among Smarta brahmins, I almost accepted that they were equivalent. But as a practical manner, probably 99% of smarta brahmins are raised in advaita. It's interesting you point out that the Iyers apply gopichanda. Kota Brahmins of Karnataka apply bhasma or ash.

Stubs

[edit]

Hi. Thanks for adding a number of pages to wikipedia, however new pages are orphaned - that is to say, only you know their existence. Please try to add an appropriate stub to your new pages in order to allow users to find your articles and to help you expand them. Best wishes AA Milne 14:35, 10 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

moves

[edit]

Harishsubramanian, what do you think you are doing, copy-paste-moving Sarasvati to the misspelled title Saraswathi?? (1) please see Wikipedia:moves. (2) Saraswathi is a misspelling. Before you move around major articles, try to at least check your spelling, and maybe make a proposal on a talkpage. Wikipedia is a collaborative project. Also with regard to the bunch of warnings above because you seem to upload image after image without proper references, please make a little effort to respect Wikipedia's rules, thankyou. dab () 08:49, 17 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Natyasastra

[edit]

Nātyasāstra is the sastra of natya and i dont know whether you are aware of it or not, the exact title of the book writen by sage Bharata Muni is "Nātyasāstra". And widely all over the world Nātyasāstra refers to the work of Bharata. Sreekanthv 08:16, 26 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Its better to keep the page Natyasastra as it is now. Now there wont be any confusion. I agree that the meaning of natyasastra is sastra of natya only, but as you know its commonly reffered to as Natyasatra of Bharata.

The most ancient drama tradition of world, Koodiyattam ( which is far far old- atleast 1500 years compared to Bharatanatyam )strictly followes Natyasastra of Bharata. The legendary guru Māni Mādhava Chākyār had an indepth knowledge on the subject. Anyway we will try to keep update the page.

Bharata Muni

[edit]

I undid your page move of Bharata Muni. All the guys called with that first name are listed at Bharata (including the king). If you disagree with that move, please write here, I will keep your talk page on my watchlist. Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 03:19, 28 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
