Notice

The article Liam O'Dell has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication of notability per WP:BIO or WP:GNG. Sources are about the wider campaign and not about him specifically. I am unable to find multiple reliable sources with significant discussion of the individual.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ... discospinster talk 23:46, 2 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Help stop deletions

[edit]

how do i improve these articles so they dont get deleted? I'm not sure what's wrong with the sources I used? Hanjifairies (talk) 01:51, 3 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Defeating the proposed deletion is simply a matter of deleting the template. Anyone, including the page creator, can do this. It's best, however, if you include a policy-based reason in the edit summary.
The next step is likely to be a nomination at AFD, since your articles do not appear to do an adequate job of establishing notability for their subjects. Many of the references, in my quick glance at them, appear to be "brief mentions" that are not helpful for notability. For instance, when someone writing an article about a larger subject includes a brief quote and identification of your subject, that's a source you may use, but it does not count towards notability. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 02:42, 3 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. Do you know why the article on Justin Gigliotti was marked differently? Hanjifairies (talk) 02:52, 3 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Not sure why it's different, but there are a range of approaches one can take when challenging the notability of a subject: tagging for notability, proposed deletion, and nominating for deletion are the main ones, except for when someone undertakes the implicit challenge of actually finding additional notability references to improve an article. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 08:12, 3 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
