New Page Reviewer Flag

Hi, Hamtechperson.
I've noticed that you are an AfC reviewer but don't yet have the New Page Reviewer flag. Would you please consider heading over to PERM and requesting it? (check the flag requirements HERE)
As part of a larger plan to increase cooperation between New Page Patrol and Articles for creation, we are trying to get as many of the active AfC reviewers as possible under the NPR user flag (per this discussion). Unlike the AfC request list, the NPR flag carries no obligation to review new articles, so I'm not asking you to help out at New Page Patrol if you don't want to, just to request the flag.
Of course, if it is something you would be interested in, you can have a look at the NPP tutorial. Please mention that you are an active AfC reviewer in your application.
Cheers and thanks for helping out at AfC, — Insertcleverphrasehere (or here) 06:23, 11 April 2018 (UTC)

Teenage Seductress

I’m not sure why this cannot be published. I do not see the difference in it to all the film articles on Wikipedia? MissTofATX (talk) 14:21, 3 May 2018 (UTC)MissTofATX MissTofATX (talk) 14:21, 3 May 2018 (UTC)

WP:NOTPLOT. Your article is 95% plot summary, 5% lede. Add more information about the significance of the film. As it stands, there is nothing in the article to make a claim of notability. I moved the article back into draftspace rather than nominating it for deletion. Please see WP:NFILM for more information on what you can do to establish notability. Gatestone

I did explain why. Almost all of the information on the page that deals with charges of being "anti-Muslim" or "pro-Russian" come from one source from NBC News that has been highly disputed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Karysrhea (talkcontribs) 21:38, 16 May 2018 (UTC)

@Karysrhea: If you have citations to back up your claim that the one source (in the lede) that claims the group is anti-Muslim, please provide them on the talk page. Furthermore, you are removing other citations and content unrelated to the claim you are disputing, and are in danger of being considered to be edit warring. Please bring your information to the article talk page, where other editors can review it and consensus can be determined. Hamtechperson 21:52, 16 May 2018 (UTC)

here you go:

Also, here is a list of contributors, many of whom are prominent Muslims and would highly dispute the claim that Gatestone is "anti-Muslim." Moreover, many contributors on this list are not "right wing." https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/authors/

As for the charges related to Russia, the links above cover those as well. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Karysrhea (talkcontribs) 22:07, 16 May 2018 (UTC)

Google Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks!

Hello,

Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.

I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. Please sign up at the contest page and send us your Google account address to google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org, so we can invite you in!

From my own experience, Google Code-In can be fun, you can make several new friends, attract new people to your wiki and make them part of your community.

If you have any questions, please let us know at google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org.

Thank you!

Articles for Creation: List of reviewers by subject notice

Hi Hamtechperson, you are receiving this notice because you are listed as an active Articles for Creation reviewer.

Recently a list of reviewers by area of expertise was created. This notice is being sent out to alert you to the existence of that list, and to encourage you to add your name to it. If you or other reviewers come across articles in the queue where an acceptance/decline hinges on specialist knowledge, this list should serve to facilitate contact with a fellow reviewer.

To end on a positive note, the backlog has dropped below 1,500, so thanks for all of the hard work some of you have been putting into the AfC process!

Sent to all Articles for Creation reviewers as a one-time notice. To opt-out of all massmessage mailings, you may add Category:Wikipedians who opt out of message delivery to your user talk page. Regards, Sam-2727 (talk)

WP:AFC Helper News

Hello! I wanted to drop a quick note for all of our AFC participants; nothing huge and fancy like a newsletter, but a few points of interest.

  • AFCH will now show live previews of the comment to be left on a decline.
  • The template {{db-afc-move}} has been created - this template is similar to {{db-move}} when there is a redirect in the way of an acceptance, but specifically tells the patrolling admin to let you (the draft reviewer) take care of the actual move.

Short and sweet, but there's always more to discuss at WT:AFC. Stop on by, maybe review a draft on the way? Whether you're one of our top reviewers, or haven't reviewed in a while, I want to thank you for helping out in the past and in the future. July 2024 Killing of Sonya Massey Article

This is concerning the Killing of Sonya Massey article, in which I provided edits transcribed directly from primary sources: the two bodycam videos from Grayson and the unidentified deputy. You can find them (see Grayson's bodycam at 10:40) here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U2rMB2fYjuY&rco=1 If you need a slowed-down version in order to actually see Massey throwing the pot of steaming water, you can go to the 5:11 mark in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E6_1WtaSAAU By implying that I provided nonconstructive information, in the message you left for me on my talk page, as an excuse for deleting factual information clearly seen on the bodycams, you turn Wikipedia into an unreliable source. You've been unsubscribed from the Feedback Request Service

Hi Hamtechperson! You're receiving this notification because you were previously subscribed to the Feedback Request Service, but you haven't made any edits to the English Wikipedia in over six months.

In order to declutter the Feedback Request Service list, and to produce a greater chance of active users being randomly selected to receive invitations to contribute, you've been unsubscribed, along with all other users who have made no edits in six months.

You do not need to do anything about this - if you are happy to not receive Feedback Request Service messages, thank you very much for your contributions in the past, and this will be the last you hear from the service. If, however, you would like to resubscribe yourself, you can follow the below instructions to do so:

  1. Go to the Feedback Request Service page.
  2. Decide which categories are of interest to you, under the RfC and/or GA headings.
  3. Paste {{Frs user|Hamtechperson|limit}} underneath the relevant heading(s), where limit is the maximum number of requests you wish to receive for that category per month.
  4. Publish the page.

If you've just come back after a wikibreak and are seeing this message, welcome back! You can follow the above instructions to re-activate your subscription. Likewise, if this is an alternate account, please consider subscribing your main account in much the same way.

Note that if you had a rename and left your old name subscribed to the FRS, you may be receiving this message on your new username's talk page still. If so, make sure your new account name is subscribed to the FRS, using the same procedure mentioned above.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask on the Feedback Request Service talk page, or on the Feedback Request Service bot's operator's talk page. Thank you! Top Thrill 2

I do not think "Top Thrill 2" will reopen at all. Do you think the ride will be closed forever? I think it will be closed forever. 2601:40A:8400:1820:DD5F:F5B8:ECBD:A7EC (talk) 11:57, 1 August 2024 (UTC)

It matters not what I think. It matters what can be proved with reliable sources. If you can find a reliable source that states the ride is permanently closed, then feel free to readd the statement and cite that source. As it stands, it appears you pulled the idea that the ride is permanently closed out of your rear end, and your rear end is not a reliable source. Hamtechperson 12:37, 1 August 2024 (UTC)
Can you please send an email to know if the ride will reopen or not? 2601:40A:8400:1820:CD6:2D41:A6D5:A5A9 (talk) 14:51, 2 August 2024 (UTC)
Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn. If you care that much, you send whatever emails you want. A private email wouldn't be a good source per WP:PUBLISH anyway. Hamtechperson 15:09, 2 August 2024 (UTC)
