Recent wikilinking on Webby Awards and Bert is evil

Hi! I noticed you added some wikilinks on articles on my watchlist. Normally, I only wikilink key concepts or things that people are likely not to know about. But I see you're linking things like "rally" and "news". Could you tell me more about your approach? Thanks, William Pietri 17:36, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

Certainly. In the last few years (though it seems to have become more common since late 2005) wikipedia articles tend to have words/phrases wikilinked any time there is an already existing page for the entry. I'm just trying to do my part when I see a phrase that I know there is an wikipage for, and provide the link in order to save readers the extra step of having to copy/paste instead of a simple click. While some of it I don't personally agree with (having a wikilink for the first mention of every single year, date, etc, for instance) I realize my opinion on the matter is in the minority--so I won't try to change things to have fewer wikilinks. WWE Alumni

Please look up the defintion of alumni, it means FORMER. People still in WWE are not WWE alumni, thank you for making me waste time having to remove them from current WWE wrestles. TJ Spyke 05:47, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

Current Events Solofa Fatu (known as Junior Fatu, and previously as Rikishi) was released from Total Nonstop Action Wrestling on October 25 2007 over a financial dispute, ending his short lived return to television. John Layfield's wife takes serious heat over Citigroup financial advice on November 1 2007. Brooke Adams (known simply as Brooke) was released from World Wrestling Entertainment on November 1 2007. Lilian Ellison (known as The Fabulous Moolah) passed away November 2 2007 at age 84. Chris Mordetsky and Harry Smith (known as Chris Masters and D.H. Smith, respectively) were suspended from World Wrestling Entertainment as of November 2 2007 for Wellness Policy violations. Mordetsky was released from his contract six says later.

WWE released the video game WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2008 on November 13 2007. The game is available for the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PSP, Xbox 360, Nintendo DS and Wii consoles. John Cena takes heat from CNN after an interview involving mentions of steroids. Christopher Irvine (known as Chris Jericho) returned to WWE after a two year hiatus, debuting on the November 19 2007 edition of RAW following months of speculation. Matt Hardy suffered from an inflamed appendix, rendering him unable to wrestle at Survivor Series and possibly for 8-10 weeks. Project News Royal Rumble has been elevated to Featured list status. Its nomination page can be viewed here. WrestleMania III has been elevated to Good article status. New Year's Revolution (2007) is currently a Featured article candidate. Its nomination page can be found here. 2007 WWE Draft is currently a Featured list candidate. Its nomination page can be found here. Briscoe Brothers, King of the Ring (1994) and No Way Out (2004) are currently Good article candidates. The focus on improving Stub-class articles is continuing to pay off, as the number of stubs has reduced from 732 to 717 over the past week. To see a list of important stubs that need some work, or to suggest a stub that you think should be improved, check out stub article subpage. Current Events As of January 2, SmackDown! Superstar Drew McIntyre has been drafted to the Raw brand. As of January 4, Raw Assistant General Manager, Jonathan Coachman has been drafted to the Smackdown! brand to replace JBL as color commentator. On January 12, World Wrestling Entertainment, in conjunction with Bakus International, will begin airing WWE Programming on Sistema Brasileiro de Televisão (SBT) in Brazil. Collaboration of the Week The Pro Wrestling Collaboration of the Week for January 6 through January 12 is Dusty Rhodes (wrestler). Please help to improve it to match the quality of an ideal Wikipedia professional wrestling related article. The next article for collaboration will be chosen on Sunday, January 13.
