okay, why was this deleted? it's true - see Deep Space Nine for one example.
In North America, root beer is often perceived as the drink selection of an immature or uncultured person, and this has been used for comedic effect in television and other dramatic presentations.Michael Dorosh 05:47, 2 January 2006 (UTC)
- You're over-reacting. I'm a fan of root beer also - have a bottle collection too. Of course Deep Space Nine is a work of fiction, that was what the point on the entry was - "has been used for comedic effect in television and other dramatic presentations." There was an episode of Three's Company in which a character asked for a drink in a bar, and the punch line of the joke was when he asked the bartender to "put a little root beer in it."... —the preceding unsigned comment is by Michael Dorosh (talk • contribs) 07:19, 2 January 2006 (UTC)

Re: Howdy
(Is this how people reply to stuff in their talk pages? I'm still finding my way around.) Anyway thanks for the welcome. I'm hooked. I'll be messing with lots of Ethiopia-related pages. My first project is a fairly complete Tigrinya language page. (I see we also have saxophone in common (though I'm hardly "advanced").) -- MikeGasser (talk) 21:38, 4 January 2006 (UTC)
Yikes. "Hornet's nest" is right. FWIW, I think it's generally accepted among Ethiopianists that Amharic descended from a now-extinct sister language of Ge'ez, the idea that it descended from Ge'ez being a convenient myth (which I've heard a lot too, like you). But since I know almost nothing about Ge'ez, I'd prefer to stay out of the debate. Too bad it matters so much to some people for the WRONG reasons. - You could start with William Lynch Speech. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 16:07, 12 January 2006 (UTC)
Moin. You are doing very much to the Ethiopiaarticle. I opend a Projekt on the german side month ago. Maby it is usefull to you, because I saw that you are able to read german a bit. My written englisch is not so good, so I just keep on contributing images to the en Wikipedia. And I try to translate as much as I can to improve the german Äthiopien. And maybe you can distribute a bit. I for my self was born in Addis Abeba as a missonary son and grew up in that wonderfull country for 16 years. So, keep on working and greetings from Hannover. By the way: Just look at de:Tsehai (Flugzeug), maybe you know a little more than I found out... -- Andro96 21:20, 9 January 2006 (UTC)

- sorry to write here again, but I don't know how to reply to the thing you wrote in my talk page ...
I unterstand now why you removed the "savethebluths.org", but why did you remove the other link? (the daily schedule page I linked in there) ? Well?
Hi, I saw you've been editing that article before and thought I'd ask you. Do you know anything about the real population of the place, since the only source I could find beyond wikipedia or its mirrors says the estimated population of the place is 30,000 [1] and even then the mention was incidental. In the article the population has been listed as that, 60,000, 85,000, 100,000 and 200,000 (and maybe something else, those are the ones I found fast). I saw the message on the talk page, but if there are no sources on the population, would it just be better to get rid of the mentions to it altogether? - Bobet 04:34, 13 January 2006 (UTC)

I too think they are the same person. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 20:43, 13 January 2006 (UTC)
You never saw a taxi that big?
Wow, man, I saw some with far more than twelve people! Cheers ፈቃደ (ውይይት) 15:03, 16 January 2006 (UTC)
- Hmm, I remember riding in some that had a huge back compartment where the passengers were actually sitting facing one another, and not in rows... It was actually the size of a small bus... but that was a while back, so maybe that model is no longer used nowadays... ፈቃደ (ውይይት) 16:30, 16 January 2006 (UTC)
Konono
I see! This information you have is over and above what was available to me. It makes things confusing. Perhaps the leader, when asked, couldn't even remember the date he'd formed Konono. In any case, as you've shown, the 1978 album is proof that the group was formed at least by 1978, maybe earlier. This should be mentioned in the article, as well as the name of the group as constituted on the 1978 compilation. Badagnani 05:06, 17 January 2006 (UTC)
This Heat "2006 reissue (!)"
How nice it was for this to light up on my watchlist this morning. Do you know which label's doing it and if they're doing more of the albums too? I know Deceit got re-released a few years back but it's out of print already. Jellypuzzle | Talk 11:28, 19 January 2006 (UTC)
Re: Somalilant Transportation
Hello,
Collecting this information took me quite a time, and am very sure that this material is correct. I want you to understand that (Somaliland) is not recognized internationally, but that does not necessary mean that the country has no data and or inforamtion. I wonder why did you remove without profing otherwise. Please remember that this is not a game to play, and I am asking you here to explain.
Thanks
Abbey Ismail

Regarding Somali people
I was glad to help with the article as Khoikhoi told me about the article's problems. I just thought I'd do what I could to help out. And hey if you have suggestions or things you want, then go for it! Tombseye 22:58, 30 January 2006 (UTC)
