WikiProject Missouri
[edit]Dear Jwestbrook, I am beginning the process to create a wikiproject for Missouri. in order to do so i'm required to show that there is a base of at least 5-10 people who would be interested in contributing to such a project. the project would serve to aid in the creation and editing of articles related to the U.S. State Missouri, its cities, counties, geography, transportation, culture, history, education, and so on. It aims to expand Wikipedia's resources on Missouri in a fair and accurate manner. Since you're stated as being a wikipedian in missouri, i wanted to see if you were interested. if you are, please add your username at Wikipedia:Wikiproject/List_of_proposed_projects#Missouri and User:Preschooler.at.heart/Missouri. thanks for your consideration. --preschooler.at.heart my talk - contribs 16:05, 7 April 2006 (UTC)
- I've added my sig to the list thanks for the invite! J\/\/estbrook Talk VSCA 22:29, 7 April 2006 (UTC)
Thank You for your support. WikiProject Missouri is now online. please feel free to contribute, and add your name to the list of members. --preschooler@heart my talk - contribs 23:30, 7 April 2006 (UTC)
M2 page
[edit]Hey man, Yeah, pictures are always helpful... I've got loads of them, having been a member for 5 years, but more are always good (since quantity doesn't necessarily yield quality). Right now I've got a pet article I'm working on (which you probably saw right above where you left your message) but after that, I'm up for a collaborative effort on an M2 page. Let me know what you think, and maybe some ideas, etc. I think we should at least have mention of the following: 1) History of, including formation 2) Past directors 3) Any notable alumni (none come to mind) 4) Functions and roles at MU 5) Include mention of Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma 6) We should find a way to get an animated GIF of the flip tiger drill... my buddy does all the M2 DVD's and he might be able to do that, or definately at least provide source footage.
That's just a quick list off the top of my head... leave me a message sometime and we can work on it. Thanks!--MUSpud2 20:53, 15 April 2006 (UTC)
Hey; I removed the speedy deletion notice you put on this page. Your tag was correct, I just feel like we should give the creator a little more time to try to write an article before we zap it. I've got in on my watchlist, and I'll re-speedy it if it remains in such bad shape for more than several hours. Mangojuice 19:31, 21 April 2006 (UTC)

Your first name would not happen to be Jason would it?
[edit]This is a very small world and apparently a very samll internet. lol My name is Stephen Gentry. My brothers are Mark, Robert, and James Gentry. It is so incredible that there is someone I know working on the same site I am. (Steve 16:39, 1 May 2006 (UTC))
- Yes small world, I saw but figured I'd let you find out....heh J\/\/estbrook Talk VSCA 17:15, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
Hazelwood Central
[edit]Hey Jason,
I realize that you are a busy man. I am becoming so to now that I'll be student teaching this fall. (YAY! I am almost done with college). However sometime this summer I was wondering if you would help me put together a good article on Hazelwood Central. The original was deleted because someone had just copied from Hazelwood School District's page. Since Central is one of the larges schools in the stat and since both of us went to the school i was wondering if we could put our heads together to right a good article for Wikipedia. Let me know regardless of your decision. I am going to write one either way. Later! (Steve 21:44, 3 May 2006 (UTC))
- I had already started to add some content and the like to the article. The Hazelwood Central article was total biased and unfouned dribble. (ie The teachers all beat the students etc) which was quickly deleted. I'll help contribute what I can, just let me know. J\/\/estbrook Talk VSCA 22:30, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
My Apologies
[edit]I'm sorry for topping the list on the Google Sitemap page. I have just read the WikiSpam page and raced back to repair the link. I see that you zapped it already. I have re-added it to the bottom of the list to avoid being labelled a spammer. It is a new service that is unlike other sitemap services and it is free for everyone. I'm not trying to circumvent you removing it which is why I'm writing you now.
Once again, my apologies for 'cutting in line'. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 65.25.168.59 (talk • contribs) .

delete history
[edit]Can you please delete my user page's history and my user talk's history? I don't want to use it anymore. But people don't get the message. (Kyla 15:13, 15 May 2006 (UTC))
- I can't but if you add {{db-owner}} to the top of the page, a admin will double check it and come by and delete it J\/\/estbrook Talk VSCA 16:05, 15 May 2006 (UTC)
Can you check my userpage and talk page to see if i am doing it right? (Kyla 13:02, 16 May 2006 (UTC))
- close, it needs to be just {{db-owner}}. I used a shortcut in Wikipedia to prevent the message from being put on my talk page. If your looking at the source copy everything inside the <nowiki></nowiki>. If you can't get it quite correct let me know and I'll fix it. J\/\/estbrook Talk VSCA 13:55, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
I hope I did it right this time. Can you check if I'm doing it right? (Kyla 14:55, 16 May 2006 (UTC))
- Yep you did it right, Happy Contributing! J\/\/estbrook Talk VSCA 18:42, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
So does that mean someone can have Kyla as a account since my account is deleted? (Kyla)
- your account is not deleted, because of the GNU Free Documentation Licence all edits must be attributed to an editor, so if Wikipedia were to delete your account all those edits would go unattributed. Wikipedia admin's don't have the power to delete user accounts, only sysops do, and it is only done in extreme circumstances. Most of the time deleting you user page is enough to tell other users that your no longer use that account. To answer your question, that username is yours, no one can create the user account Kyla, unless you give them the password (which I would not recommend). Let me know if you have any other questions. J\/\/estbrook Talk VSCA 00:16, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
How come you don't recommend wikipedians to give their passwords to other people? If someone doesn't want to use it, why not give it to someone who does want to use it? Then people don't always have to keep registering new usernames. (Kyla)
- The reason is 2-fold.
- the edits you have contributed establish a history for the user, if another person were to use your user account to vandalize articles, your edit history might be used against/for that person.
- it is not good practice on the Internet to share passwords with others.

Synopsis?
[edit]Hello J,
I saw that you took out my paragraph about the service on Google's website. After reading this page over a few times, it offers lot's of info on how to make maps and where to submit them but doesn't explain any of the features or tools available within the Google sitemap account on their site.
It may have needed to be fleshed out some, but it wasn't entirely repetetive, was it? MaxPowers 18:07, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
- I would say the paragraph was out of place in the section about the tools to generate sitemaps and restated (albeit differently) what was in the About section. I do agree that there needs to be more on what is offered to the user, but more likely in its own section. J\/\/estbrook Talk VSCA 05:02, 28 May 2006 (UTC)
yeah go ahead and delete the Intel MSA article... I copied it but it was in quotation marks and I gave the source so I figured it'd be ok... sorry for the misunderstanding...—The preceding unsigned comment was added by DellWhore18 (talk • contribs) .

WHY DO MY ARTICLES KEEP GETTING DELETED!
[edit]I have written a number of articles for wikipedia but they keep getting deleted. Everything i have wrote is true and does not affend anyone or any culture. I want all my articles restored so people can read about my local town and the people in it. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 81.105.123.42 (talk • contribs) .
- I can look into why some of the articles have been deleted if you list them here. My guess is that the articles may not have met some of Wikipedia's guidelines (Notability Vanity Guidelines). Take a look at those guidelines, see if the articles would have met them, and let me know about the articles in question. J\/\/estbrook Talk VSCA 15:51, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
Tech OCP
[edit]Tech OCP was originally founded in 1996 and ran as a technology newsletter in Tennessee. We even own the Business name Tech OCP, LLC in the state of Tennessee and have since 1998. It was not until recently we decided to bring Tech OCP online and an actual TV station broadcasted here in TN. Just because you may know about the "online, fake world" doesn't mean your knowledge is vast enough to know about real world factors. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by TechOCP (talk • contribs) .
- That's great put that information into the article and see that it is cited correctly and it should live a little longer J\/\/estbrook Talk VSCA 02:15, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

The Overland Missouri Page
[edit]Recently you edited the Overland, Missouri Page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overland%2C_Missouri#Local_News_Websites) to "remove a POV link" which was www.overlandexaminer.org.
Being the administrator of The Overland Examiner, I would be curious to know why you would do that. I understand that you consider that site to have a Point of View. However, it is not one sided. Furthermore, The Overland Examiner, though in blog form at the moment, is being developed into a Online Community Newspaper and is a Member of the National Newspaper Association. As the Editor of that site, the developer of the Community Newspaper site, and the primary Journalist posting there I would like to point out that I am a Member of the Society of Professional Journalists, the Investigative Reporters and Editors, and the Online News Association, just to name a few.
I can see where the site could seen to have a limited point of view in its reporting, but that is because the research so often favors one side. I hope you reconsider your position on that site's inclusion to the Overland site.
I would welcome further discussion on this. Please feel free to contact me at overlandsailor(at)aol(dot)com Thank you for your time and consideration.

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Charter logo.gif)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Charter logo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 01:35, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:JillSobuleHolidayCD.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:JillSobuleHolidayCD.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 19:42, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)
