Introduction to contentious topics

[edit]

You have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Additionally, you must be logged-in, have 500 edits and an account age of 30 days, and are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on a page within this topic.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

On list of heads of states of Paraguay

[edit]

Hi Guyermou . Listen i appreciate your effort to improve the list just let me finish my edit i have not finished yet i am trying to add time in office and other stuff .The american table is not really a good a example also that article litterally can not be edited anyone who tries anything gets reverted . There many other latin american tables that are good look at lists of Honduras , Panama , The dominica republic , Look at your edit with the page White House Chief of Staff i am trying to make it more like that minus the sortable stuff . So pls let me finish the editing . Friendlyhistorian (talk) 16:37, 21 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, finish your edit and maybe later we can discuss what to do, maybe a middle ground of sorts. I just don't think the table should have too much stuff, look at the mess in List of heads of state of Argentina for example. Guyermou (talk) 16:46, 21 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much for the opportunity i wont let you down . Also i fully understand your concerns for some reason some asian and latin american lists have this tendency to put notes which make the articles much worse . Yesterday if you see my edit history i worked a lot on colombia venezuela all day to make those lists better as well but got tired so i wraped things up and went to sleep . I worked a lot on african lists and and caribbean ones but yeah latin american lists are something else . Anyway thanks a lot whenever you want send me message on my talk page if you want to raise any issues . Have a nice day Friendlyhistorian (talk) 17:06, 21 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Btw you did a really good job adding those photos they look really good. For the life of me who thought that it was a goood idea to add a full body pic of Stroessner . Also may i ask a question . You added in the political party column you added that José Félix Estigarribia was Independent from 1940 so before that was he a member of the Colorado party or the Liberal party ? sorry for asking just doing for the purposes of editing . Friendlyhistorian (talk) 17:23, 21 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Estigarribia was elected as a liberal, then he abandoned the party when he basically ended democracy. Guyermou (talk) 19:02, 21 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much Guyermou this helped me a lot . Friendlyhistorian (talk) 19:27, 21 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
