Invitation to join WikiProject Endangered Languages

[edit]

Hola, Guillermo! Come join us at Wikipedia:WikiProject Endangered languages. I'm certain we have many languages in English Wikipedia that need the International Phonetic Alphabet table, if you know how to do this ... Djembayz (talk) 12:15, 19 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Babel

[edit]

Hello, Guillermo2149; I see you have "zh-yue" included in your list of languages on your user page. On the English Wikipedia, we've deprecated the "zh-yue" code, so you might want to change this simply to read "yue" instead. This will help other editors find you when they are looking for Cantonese speakers. Also, if you are not a native speaker of Cantonese, you might want to add a number after the code to indicate your level of proficiency. Thanks! --R'n'B (call me Russ) 12:31, 4 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Cyrillization of Arabic

[edit]

Hello Guillermo2149,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Cyrillization of Arabic for deletion, because it appears to duplicate an existing Wikipedia article, [[:{{{article}}}]].

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks, Travelbird (talk) 05:24, 3 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Transliteration schemes

[edit]

Dear Guillermo2149, I noticed you've created a couple articles on transliteration schemes (Cyrillization of Arabic and Romanization of Inuktitut). These articles lack any references to third-party publications. Could you please add references to the article showing the source of the information? Without such information, there is no evidence that the transliteration schemes you've documented have any authority or history of use, and the articles may end up being deleted as a suspected violation of our guidelines WP:MADEUP or WP:OR. —Psychonaut (talk) 09:57, 11 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Another editor has now expressed similar concerns about the first article. As you haven't been forthcoming with the provenance of this scheme I've proposed that it be deleted. —Psychonaut (talk) 17:27, 24 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Apologies to both of you. I was just an eight-year-old kid with too much time on his hands back then, heh. Guillermo2149 (talk) 09:25, 1 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of LANGAS

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on LANGAS requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. --Non-Dropframe talk 01:03, 5 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,

Thank you for the Proto-Tupian language article. I linked it to the Tupian language article, but that's the only current link. There are navigation templates now at the bottom of the article, perhaps it could be added to one of the templates - or one of the see also articles.

If you have any questions about this, please let me know.—CaroleHenson(talk) 02:19, 31 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
