WikiCup 2021 November newsletter

The WikiCup is over for another year and the finalists can relax! Our Champion this year is Botswana The Rambling Man (submissions), who amassed over 5000 points in the final round, achieving 8 featured articles and almost 500 reviews. It was a very competitive round; seven of the finalists achieved over 1000 points in the round (enough to win the 2019 contest), and three scored over 3000 (enough to win the 2020 event). Our 2021 finalists and their scores were:

  1. Botswana The Rambling Man (submissions) with 5072 points
  2. England Lee Vilenski (submissions) with 3276 points
  3. Rwanda Amakuru (submissions) with 3197 points
  4. New York (state) Epicgenius (submissions) with 1611 points
  5. Gog the Mild (submissions) with 1571 points
  6. Zulu (International Code of Signals) BennyOnTheLoose (submissions) with 1420 points
  7. Hog Farm (submissions) with 1043 points
  8. Republic of Venice Bloom6132 (submissions) with 528 points

All those who reached the final round will win awards. The following special awards will be made based on high performance in particular areas of content creation and review. Awards will be handed out in the next few days.

Congratulations to everyone who participated in this year's WikiCup, whether they made it to the final round or not, and particular congratulations to the newcomers to the WikiCup, some of whom did very well. Wikipedia has benefitted greatly from the quality creations, expansions and improvements made, and the numerous reviews performed. Thanks to all who have taken part and helped out with the competition, not forgetting User:Jarry1250, who runs the scoring bot.

If you have views on whether the rules or scoring need adjustment for next year's contest, please comment on the WikiCup talk page. Next year's competition will begin on 1 January. You are invited to sign up to participate; the WikiCup is open to all Wikipedians, both novices and experienced editors, and we hope to see you all in the 2022 competition. Until then, it only remains to once again congratulate our worthy winners, and thank all participants for their involvement! @BloxyColaSweet Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and not a place for hoaxes or childish things. You may want to take a look at Guidance for younger editors -- Guerillero Parlez Moi 11:20, 10 November 2021 (UTC)
@Guerillero First I am not a child, second I am asking of why did you delete the page I created called Bellis dubia?? — Preceding unsigned comment added by BloxyColaSweet (talkcontribs) 20:00, 10 November 2021 (UTC)
@BloxyColaSweet: It was entirely unsourced, no plant of that name seems to exist, and you made hoaxes in your user space. -- Guerillero Parlez Moi 10:39, 11 November 2021 (UTC)
@Guerillero: First the plant does exist, it seems that your just trolling, now I have to make the Wikipedia page again. and what do you mean I made hoaxes in my user page? is just doesn't make any sense. BloxyColaSweet (talk) 20:17, 11 November 2021 (UTC)
This was a pretty straightforward psudo article about a functional plant -- Guerillero Parlez Moi 20:44, 11 November 2021 (UTC)

List of best-selling manga (someone changes it even though source says opposite)

Hello I read both Naruto & Detective Conan sources in the list. Naruto Shueisha (official publisher) source says it has "sold" 250 million copies, Detective Conan one says "it has 250 million copies in circulation worldwide (including copies not sold)" Naruto should be above as of now. But User:Yujoong changing the order. He first removed Mangaplus/Shueisha source (most reliable source) Now both User:Yujoong and Creating User:Cosmo Sentinel changing the order everyday as they want. Can you prevent or warn them ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ruderhymer (talkcontribs) 13:56, 27 November 2021 (UTC)
