Irrelevant links
Can you explain it to me, how the link to the biography and works of an artist is spam and irrelevant ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Naomiger (talk • contribs) 07:50, 1 March 2011 (UTC)
For example, how this: Biography of William Bouguereau (Art Renewal Center) is different from Adolphe William Bouguereau - Life and Works ? While the former is sitting on the page, the latter was removed as "spam". Provide a clear explanation (and not just "I decided so"), then I will agree or disagree with you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Naomiger (talk • contribs) 08:26, 1 March 2011 (UTC)

Online Ambassador Program
Please take a look at this project page and see if you can be a mentor to one of the many Areas of Study. If you can, please put your name in the "Online Mentor" area of the Area of Study of your choice and then contact the students you will be working with. As the Coordinating Online Ambassador for this project, please let me know if I can be of assistance. Take Care...Neutralhomer • Talk • 04:23, 3 March 2011 (UTC)

You're now a filemover
Hi Guerillero/Archives/2011/March, you're now a filemover. When moving files please respect the following advice:
- Use the CommonsDelinker link in the {{rename}} template to order a bot to replace all ocurrences of the old title with the new one.
- Please do not tag redirects as {{speedy}}. Other projects, like InstantCommons, might be using the file even though they don't show up in the global usage. Deleting the redirects would break their file references.
- For guideline when to rename a file, please see here.

- May I recommend you move free images to commons rather than renaming them? Magog the Ogre (talk) 07:06, 11 March 2011 (UTC)
- It takes a month to wait for a file to be moved to commons. It takes 5 min of research and 30 seconds to move the file. --Guerillero | My Talk 11:41, 11 March 2011 (UTC)

Marking articles students are working on
Howdy, Online Ambassador!
This is a quick message to all the ambassadors about marking and tracking which articles students are working on. For the classes working with the ambassador program, please look over any articles being worked on by students (in particular, any ones you are mentoring, but others who don't have mentors as well) and do these things:
- Add {{WAP assignment | term = Spring 2011 }} to the articles' talk pages. (The other parameters of the {{WAP assignment}} template are helpful, so please add them as well, but the term = Spring 2011 one is most important.)
- If the article is related to United States public policy, make sure the article the WikiProject banner is on the talk page: {{WikiProject United States Public Policy}}
- Add Category:Article Feedback Pilot (a hidden category) to the article itself. The second phase of the Article Feedback Tool project has started, and this time we're trying to include all of the articles students are working on. Please test out the Article Feedback Tool, as well. The new version just deployed, so any bug reports or feedback will be appreciated by the tech team working on it.
And of course, don't forget to check in on the students, give them constructive feedback, praise them for positive contributions, award them {{The WikiPen}} if they are doing excellent work, and so on. And if you haven't done so, make sure any students you are mentoring are listed on your mentor profile.
Thanks! --Sage Ross - Online Facilitator, Wikimedia Foundation (talk) 18:11, 15 March 2011 (UTC)
Questions
why my website always being delet in a short time. i have already redo it for two times? i don't know what's wrong with it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by XuehuaCC (talk • contribs)
- I honestly have no clue. I wouldn't tag it as an A1. It looks close to the first version of my first article. (This is what it looks like today.)
- I removed the CSD tag and left a note on the taggers talk page. What might be part of the problem is that the stub you wrote is only about the two groups in dispute for the case. Maybe you could put a quick line describing the holding and outcome after the bolded test at the beginning of the article. cheers --Guerillero | My Talk 01:05, 16 March 2011 (UTC)

Michel Foucault
I saw you labeled my edit of the Michel Foucault page as vandalism. I added a sourced criticism of Michel Foucault that previously did not exist on the page and no longer exists on the page. I understand you may have a particular fondness for Foucault, but that does not justify censoring criticism from the Michel Foucault page. Professor Obar Concerns
Got a message about an hour ago from Professor Obar of the Media and Telecommunication Policy project and I think it is viewed best in full:
Can you please communicate to the online mentors that I DO NOT want them moving student material into the main space for them. This is a big problem. I have noticed that this has happened with a number of the projects already, for example, in the broadband.gov article and the media cross-ownership article. We need the students to be doing this on their own, of course so they can learn how to do it, and also so that I can grade what they've done. How am I supposed to follow student submissions if the data is associated with online mentors? A BIG PROBLEM ALREADY... please help me with this. None of you responded to my post about this on the discussion page. This is about to get out of hand. Jaobar (talk) 05:27, 20 March 2011 (UTC)
With that, of course, please only give instructions on how to move, don't do it for them. Please only let them know what to do and let them do it themselves. If they run into problems, provide further instructions. Do not it for them. This seems to be making a mess of Prof. Obar's grading system and I would like to avoid that. Thanks. - Neutralhomer • Talk • Coor. Online Amb'dor • 06:16, 20 March 2011 (UTC)

Sam Funk Mentor Request
I am Sam Funk a sophomore at Syracuse University taking a class on Transnational Non-Government Organizations. One of our class assignments is to improve upon wikipedia articles relating to TNGO's or public policy in an area of our interest. I am editing the "Wildlife Conservation" page and other articles concerning raptor (birds of prey) conservation. A requirement of the assignment is to have an online mentor, for aid in citing, editing, and general wikipedia functions. Would you be available over the next few weeks to help with my project? If you are able, please contact me as soon as possible, and if not would you be able to recommend someone else to me? Thank you for your consideration.Smfunk7 (talk) 00:48, 24 March 2011 (UTC)

Regional Ambassadors map
Hi Guerillero, thanks for offering to make a map of the regions! I'm also drawing this by hand onto a printed-out map, but it would be great to have this mapped out electronically too. The regions are still subject to change, but I think they're pretty stable now for the most part, so if you're willing and able it'd be awesome if you could create a digital map. =) Ultimately I'd like to have an interactive map that people can click on in order to zoom into regions and see the activities/Ambassadors/professors in that region in more detail. If you know how to create something like that we should definitely talk more about it; no worries at all though if not! Thank you very much. Annie Lin (Campus Team Coordinator, Wikimedia Foundation) (talk) 18:41, 23 March 2011 (UTC)
P.S. the "names" that I've given to each region ("Northeast," "Central Plains area," etc.) are really not very important and are very likely to change. Annie Lin (Campus Team Coordinator, Wikimedia Foundation) (talk) 18:43, 23 March 2011 (UTC)
- Hi Guerillero, the map you made looks great! Thanks so much. I'm pretty sure I'll use it in the description for the Regional Ambassador role.
