D20 and trade names

[edit]

Hi,

I've noticed that you continue to change the Arri name to all caps in the D20 article. As I've mentioned in the comments section, please respect the Manual of Style with regards to trade names - namely, do not use all caps. Also note that wikilinks to the same target should not be used multiple times in shorter articles. Thank you, Girolamo Savonarola 22:51, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks,

ARRI is the recognised trade name, made from the names Arnold and Richter, and has always been written in capitals. Just like the WHO or UNICEF. Arri is a boys name, well my nephews at least. Just a little bit of info for you, in case you are interested. Arnold was Nazi party member 100, Richter was 101. Arnolds surviving son Bobby likes to collect vintage cars, mostly Jaguar's he restores to better than new condition. He has a huge collection of vintage cars stored in barns at his house, including the Staff car his father used while working for the Nazi war effort. I've sat in it. He home brews a particularly vile kind of Grappa he insists you drink if you visit him. He is a very odd man. At the ARRI headquarters in Munich the cameras that Leni Reifenstal used to shoot the Olympiad are kept, away from public view. Instead of the ARRI logo, cast into the metal of the camera are Swasticas. Grubbytoy 01:05 11 March 2007

I'm sorry, but please read WP:MOSTM, as I've requested. Continued reversion of this will be considered wilfull vandalism. Girolamo Savonarola 09:40, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have the read WP:MOSTM. ARRI is an acronym. In Wikipedia there is use of many acronyms that are also trade names. AT&T, IBM, BBC and DVD are all acronyms in use in Wikipedia as written here. ARRI is just another acronym. I can't see your objection in light of that. Grubbytoy 19:46 12 March 2007

How do you refer to the same link multiple times in the same article? Grubbytoy 03:54 11 March 2007

You don't link the same article multiple times. Again, see WP:MOS. Girolamo Savonarola 09:40, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi

[edit]

Just stopped to say you hi. You removed certain info from your talk page - that is fine. You may also try to archive the same for future reference :) --old man 10:45, 11 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I addressed the issues noted there. New to this. Was that ok to do? Grubbytoy 03:54 11 March 2007

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Chemical Wedding Inc., requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Ducknish (talk) 03:29, 1 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:Alan Gordon MkIV Director's Viewfinder.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Alan Gordon MkIV Director's Viewfinder.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that this media item is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media item could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media item is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the file discussion page, write the reason why this media item is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 00:14, 4 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm Oshwah. I noticed that you made an edit to a biography of a living person, John MacInnes (writer), but that you didn’t support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. Wikipedia has a strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. ~Oshwah~ (talk) (contribs) 01:27, 19 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited John MacInnes (writer), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Anglo-American. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
