Hahaha, yea TIna, that Valentines day video is my fraternity, its pretty crazy how much press and over all attention it is getting. How is reading break treating you? Btw, regarding the Clayoquot logging protest wiki topic, are we supposed to mainly focus on one of the protests or do an overview of the whole situation? Thanks --FrankRBIV (talk) 03:41, 24 February 2012 (UTC)

Hi Tina, yes I am from Manitoba, and that is how I know about the ice cream shop! It is quite a random post indeed. My group will be meeting tomorrow to talk about our wikipedia project. Thank you! --Chaereankim (talk) 07:41, 24 February 2012 (UTC)

Hi Tina, Just testing out the talk feature! -Kaitlin

Hi Greentina and Kaitlin, I'm testing out how to use colons to post replies in talk, and how to sign with tildes. _SockeyeSam (talk) 09:27, 19 January 2012 (UTC).
I started the line with one colon for the first response, now two colons for the second response in the thread. To sign, I put four tildes SockeyeSam (talk) 09:33, 19 January 2012 (UTC)

Practice edits

Hi Tina, I decided to edit the article on Jackson, Wyoming, which is my hometown. I added a brief summary of the mountain ranges that surround the town and valley of Jackson Hole. it is in the Geography section, beginning with "The town is surrounded..." There wasn't much information on the geography of the area, especially the mountains. This needed to be changed because the mountain ranges are one of the most spectacular features there! Knowing that I contributed to an article on Wikki is a great feeling, I'm looking forward to adding to our group articles! Kristen Walters (talk) 07:15, 14 February 2012 (UTC)

My first edit was to the entry Jack Miner and specifically to the section on Migratory Bird Banding. I did a little copyediting and added a bit of content regarding how popular his first book was.--Greentina (talk) 22:50, 8 February 2012 (UTC)

Hi Tina, I edited an entry on The University of British Columbia regarding UBC REC in the Campus events section. I added a few sentences regarding the staff of this program and some of the things they are responsible for doing to the end of that section. --Kaypri (talk) 23:35, 9 February 2012 (UTC)

Hello Tina. I added material regarding the impact of colonization on indigenous diet and health to the article on First Nations under section 2.6.1 Colonisation and Integration. I had difficulty finding an appropriate section to add this information, so we'll see how long it stays in place! --Sara Binns (talk) 03:03, 10 February 2012 (UTC)

Hello Tina, I added material regarding the town of "Kleefeld, Manitoba Canada", and also copy edited some grammar. The material added under the heading "Residents" was: "with an ice cream store that opens during summer, called "Happy Earl's Dawg House". --Chaereankim (talk) 07:19, 10 February 2012 (UTC)

Hi Tina, I edited an article that called for a heavy re-write. So I deleted some obviously incorrect material and replaced it with referenced material. Is this okay?? It's a little scary. The article is called Alexandra Kollontai. I wrote the last paragraph of the section titled revolutionary activities, it begins "With the onset of World War I..." and copy edited the first sentence of the second paragraph under the section titled political career. I deleted information in the first paragraph of that section and replaced it with the sentence, "It wasn't until 1915 that Kollontai officially joined the Bolshevik party." supported by a reference. Heather Pottinger: --Heatheralyse (talk) 03:27, 11 February 2012 (UTC)

Hi Tina, I added material to the Women in Ancient Rome entry under the "Motherhood" section regarding wet nurses. My name is Danielle Larsen. It was definitely harder than I expected to find an article to edit or add material to, but nonetheless, I figured it out! --Danilar (talk) 21:23, 11 February 2012 (UTC)

Hi Tina, I added new information to the Wikipedia entry on the Djembe. Mine is the final paragraph in the section "origin". I also found it much harder than expected to figure out how to edit the Wikipedia page. --Stephaniehodgepodge (talk) 23:09, 11 February 2012 (UTC)Steph Hodgins

Hi Tina, this is Cayley McCandless. I added some new information to the Bill Reid page under "Early Years". I added information to already existing sentences, so I was confused about where to put my refrence in that sentence. Anyway I hope I did it correctly! (I added his fathers name, where his mother came from in Haida Gwaii, and the last portion of the sentence in the last paragraph of this section). Cayleym (talk) 19:50, 12 February 2012 (UTC)CayleyM

Hi Tina, I edited the page on the United Fishermen and Allied Workers' Union (UFAWU), which is currently just a stub. I added a sentence on union composition and activities (with reference), and a note about a former union president who ran for the Communist Party in the 1970s (also with reference), as well as some minor copy-edits. --Ebsutton (talk) 20:17, 12 February 2012 (UTC)

Hi Tina, I added material to the Spirituality sub-section of the Alcoholics Anonymous page, which I thought was relevant given the controversy and discussion in the Talk page over the the organization's origins in the Oxford Group, and the fact that this is a common criticism. --Sarah.x.g (talk) 21:48, 12 February 2012 (UTC)

Hello Tina, Mike Hills from 396. I have updated Executive federalism in which I added a definition by Donald Smiley and noted some aspects of Canadian Executive Federalism. Hi Tina! This is Anastasia Ufimtseva. I’ve added material to Niger Delta, in the section on "Nigerian oil". After doing a research on Nigeria, I thought it would be important to add when the operations began and why they were run by Multinational Corporations, also since the previous figure contained only oil data, I had combined these with natural gas produced to show how extensive is Nigerian economy's reliance on oil and gas sector.--AnastasiaU. Hey Tina, I was just talking to my sister Sinead on Skype, and it turns out she took a course of yours at UBC. She's now doing her PhD in Environmental History at Queen's. She's been involved with NiCHE (me too, I submitted a video about firefighting to the site) and was very excited about this course and how you've set it up. She says hi. Hi Tina I got your message about sticking to my sandbox. It totally makes sense because I didn't understand how I could propose an outline for an article that was still awaiting approval. I have written about half of my initial submission and have it in my sandbox awaiting comment from my teammates. Thanks for your message. I have had some contact with the Wikipedia community so far and everyone has been positive so far at least. It is getting easier to remember all the steps required with practice, and I probably would continue to do edits after the course is done. I was even invited to a Women's history event March 25 in Vancouver. Sliver9754 (talk) 02:14, 11 March 2012 (UTC)
