Speedy deletion nomination of Cinemoz
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Cinemoz, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. —KuyaBriBriTalk 14:23, 21 March 2012 (UTC)
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thanks for taking the time to contribute.
I'm a bot designed by another Wikipedia editor, and I'm here to help you with our deletion process. I noticed that while working on an article recently, you removed a speedy deletion template that tagged it for deletion. Don't get discouraged! Deletion discussions happen on Wikipedia all the time.
If you don't want the article to get deleted, please click here.
The link will take you to the talk page, where you can explain why the article should be kept. If you have any questions about this or need help with editing, you can ask at the Help desk.
We really hope you'll stick around to help make Wikipedia better! Thank you, - SDPatrolBot (talk) 15:51, 21 March 2012 (UTC)
Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with Cinemoz. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Click here to contest this speedy deletion, which appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the article's talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. - SDPatrolBot (talk) 09:29, 22 March 2012 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Choufani (Metal Artwork)
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Choufani (Metal Artwork) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
Orphaned non-free image File:Cinemoz Logo.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Cinemoz Logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. ConcernedVancouverite (talk) 18:42, 23 March 2012 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Comparison between OTT and IPTV
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Comparison between OTT and IPTV requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.mediaentertainmentinfo.com/2013/04/2-concept-series-what-is-the-difference-between-ott-and-iptv.html/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. - The problem is the massive copyrighted table. There is nothing to prevent you from copying the article to your sandbox, where few, if any, people tread, but the copyright issue has to be resolved. We can't delay on that. Fiddle Faddle 11:58, 5 September 2013 (UTC)
- You have two routes forward (thank you for removing the table). Route 1 is to gain permission to use that table. you need to read up about WP:OTRS and the other links on copyright above. Route 2 is to construct an essentially similar table using your own words. Having attempted route 2 in the past elsewhere, I commend route 1 to you. You will need to ask the original author for their release of the work into the wild. There are form letters available in the copyrights area here. A suggested route, since theirs appears to be an image, is to ask them to release the image, or, better, as copyright owners, to upload it themselves to Commons with the correct licencing. You can then deploy that image in your article. Fiddle Faddle 12:07, 5 September 2013 (UTC)
Ok I will do that. But kindly give me some time to build the article properly without deleting it.
- I was only concerned about the copyright issue, but I am only one editor. Others may take a different view. Fiddle Faddle 15:47, 5 September 2013 (UTC)
Ok Thank you. I have done Route 1 and your last suggestion. The copyright owner emailed a form to wikimedia commons, and also uploaded the image on Wikimedia. However I preferred to put the table back because it is easier on the eye. I couldnt find any info on what happens after the copyright owner sends the email. Is it automatically accepted? Thank you
The article Comparison between OTT and IPTV has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Sourced entirely to one WP:RS-failing blog entry, and is mostly just background setup for a comparison table. Comparisons can be made in the individual OTT/IPTV articles.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. McGeddon (talk) 10:00, 10 September 2013 (UTC)
I am still editing it that is why there is not a lot of references yet. And the table has been put on wikimedia and the form has been sent to use it. I do not understand why you removed it.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Grapevine00 (talk • contribs) 11:10, 10 September 2013
- Don't worry, proposed deletion runs for a full seven days, you have plenty of time to find some references. You're welcome to add the comparison table back when permission to reuse its text has been confirmed - we shouldn't get ahead of ourselves and include potentially copyrighted content. --McGeddon (talk) 10:15, 10 September 2013 (UTC)
- Okay, you've removed the prod template. Good luck finding sources, I'll check back on the status of the article in a few days. --McGeddon (talk) 10:16, 10 September 2013 (UTC)
If the form has been sent, it means that there will be a response to confirm the use of the text in the tabler? How long should we wait — Preceding unsigned comment added by Grapevine00 (talk • contribs) 11:29, 10 September 2013
- I don't know. But being able to include a particular comparison table isn't enough by itself, the article needs much better sources. --McGeddon (talk) 11:00, 10 September 2013 (UTC)
Conflict of interest with video-on-demand subjects
[edit]Hello, Grapevine00. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.
All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.
If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:
- Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
- Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
- Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
- Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.
Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.
For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you.--McGeddon (talk) 10:11, 10 September 2013 (UTC)
Ok will work on that
Adding copyrighted text
[edit]Please stop adding apparently copyrighted text to Wikipedia articles. As I say at Talk:Comparison_between_OTT_and_IPTV, Wikipedia requires either a statement on the source website confirming that the text has been made freely available under a CC or public domain licence, or a {{OTRS pending}} template on the talk page. Neither of these are currently present - please add one or the other before adding the text again. Thanks. --McGeddon (talk) 12:37, 10 September 2013 (UTC)
I already said that permission has been given and the form has been sent. How do I place it here?— Preceding unsigned comment added by Grapevine00 (talk • contribs)
- Just put {{OTRS pending}} at the top of the article's talk page. --McGeddon (talk) 14:22, 10 September 2013 (UTC)
- Like that?
Disambiguation link notification for September 11
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Comparison between OTT and IPTV, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Protocol, Category and Examples (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
