Filing RFC or something
[edit]I want to file a complaint against LJS, but I don't know how. I think you mentioned a specific form this complaint is supposed to take - an RFC or something. This is utterly ridiculous and he is seriously undermining the credibility of Wikipedia, given that most people probably are looking up information on Katrina at the moment. I'm just tired of having to guard the article, and I've noticed weariness has started to take it's toll, as I've gotten rather snappy in talk. I'd really like to bring this to the attention of anyone who can block LJS --Jentizzle 23:24, 10 September 2005 (UTC)
- See [1] I will be happy to second. The core policies violated here are wp:NPOV and wp:NPA. --Gorgonzilla 01:36, 11 September 2005 (UTC)
- Don't forget to add some description of his violations of NPA at the filed RfC. I've added NPA to the "Applicable Policies" section but as you're one of the users certifying the dispute, I thought it best to let you add the evidence yourself.--chris.lawson 04:33, 17 October 2005 (UTC)
Mediation
[edit]I see you and DKorn have a message at WP:RFM here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requests_for_mediation#User:DKorn_in_dispute_with_User:Gorgonzilla_and_others Are you (still) interested in mediation? If so please comment at there. Redwolf24 (talk) 01:38, 27 September 2005 (UTC)
- If you are explicitly not interested, comment so I may archive it. Thanks, Redwolf24 (talk) 01:39, 27 September 2005 (UTC)
I am not much interested in mediation if the other person insists on continuing as before through sockpuppet accounts. If he is serious then I am interested. But he has just rediverted First Responder to install a POV screed. --Gorgonzilla 02:00, 27 September 2005 (UTC)
...Please comment on its page. Redwolf24 (talk) 02:15, 27 September 2005 (UTC)
Persistence
[edit]Not sure if this is the right place for this, but I just wanted to commend you for your impressive patience with the Ray Nagin article. I gave up weeks ago and just checked back on the article to see if things blew over. I saw that not only have admins come to talk (I assume as a result of your efforts) but you also found incontrovertible evidence of LJS's sockpuppetry, and beyond the fact that I've no idea how you accomplished that, I'm amazed that you may actually be somewhere close to getting that ne'er-do-well banned. Bravo. --Jentizzle 14:46, 28 September 2005 (UTC)
- The sockpuppetry was pretty blatant and sloppy. He forgets to log into his sock account and so his IP address keeps falling out. Meanwhile I was told by a GOP staffer that the reason they dropped the buses story is that numerous FEMA staffers have confirmed Blanco's claim that Brown told Blanco to wait for FEMA organized buses and then failed to deliver them.
I probably will not be around very much longer I am afraid. I was asked to look into Wikipedia as a live example of wide scale collaboration security issues. I think I have found a solution to the sockpuppet issue which we will be proposing to the Wikipedia and blog community in due course. --Gorgonzilla 18:27, 28 September 2005 (UTC)
- Cheers for your work putting together the RFC, if Wikipedia gets anywhere towards being a reputable source of information, it'll be because individuals like yourself persevered longer than the vandals. --Jentizzle 07:52, 19 October 2005 (UTC)
Fabricated VIP claim removed
[edit]It seems that some troll has accused you of vandalizing an Indian-related article by removing a tag. I have removed his superflous claim and false 5RR claim.[2]Voice of All @|Esperanza|E M 03:39, 21 October 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks, he was miffed because I have filed an RfC against him. Can't see how it is not going to lead to a RfA given his history. He has recently discovered tag vandalism and has been 'expert' tagging the girls aloud pages to retaliate for the deletion of his prized 'Nagin buses' article. Of course the fact that Chertoff himself was on the TV this week saying that FEMA screwed everything up, not Nagin or Blanco is not going to stop him from similar POV pushing on the Abramoff related pages. --Gorgonzilla 14:49, 21 October 2005 (UTC)
New LJS sock?
[edit]You might want to take a look at Barwick (talk · contribs). While the page targets aren't the same, his modus operandi appears to be. I'd recommend at least a second or third opinion before adding it to the RfC, though.--chris.lawson 02:56, 5 November 2005 (UTC)
- Interesting, definitely similar modus operandi, but nowhere near as persistent. On the other hand LJS seems to be mellowing somewhat after discovering that there are penalties for revert waring and POV peddling. I think best to watch a while before committing to an opinion. --Gorgonzilla 15:01, 5 November 2005 (UTC)
