Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Goldabrun. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Nicholas J. Ayala, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam#External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. You don't need to be paid by them to have a potential conflict of interest. Kj cheetham (talk) 18:45, 31 October 2022 (UTC)
- Hello,
- Thank you so much for the guide. I know Wikipedia is not a place for advertising or promoting anyone. To be honestly, I'm working with this person right now. But he didn't paid me anything. In that case what should I need to do? Do I need to disclosed the paid contribution(on my userpage) or I need to put while editing the article {{request edit}} on talk pageĀ ? I didn't create this article as you can see. Even, I don't want to be a paid contributor on Wikipedia. I'm just adding references, Sources, wikilink etc. Please suggest me. I don't want to violate any rules of Wimedia Policies. Thank you.
- Regards Goldabrun (talk) 19:10, 31 October 2022 (UTC)
- Hi, given it's not paid, you don't need to disclosure that on your userpage, but I have disclosed your connection for you on Talk:Nicholas J. Ayala. You may wish to use Template:UserboxCOI on your userpage as well. My recommendation is to make use of Template:Request edit on the talk page for anything other than minor changes, but be aware sometimes it can take a few weeks for someone to respond. You can also ask for further advice at WP:TEAHOUSE if you'd like. Hope that helps. -Kj cheetham (talk) 19:20, 31 October 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you very much for your advice, Sir. I really appreciate for your help. Definitely, I will follow the instruction.
- For now, do I need to change/add anything? Goldabrun (talk) 19:36, 31 October 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you for your understanding. I don't think any further immediate action is needed. -Kj cheetham (talk) 09:42, 1 November 2022 (UTC)

[edit]Your account has been blocked indefinitely for advertising or promotion and violating the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use. This is because you have been making promotional edits to topics in which you have a financial stake, yet you have failed to adhere to the mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a form of conflict of interest (COI) editing which involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is strictly prohibited. Using this site for advertising or promotion is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, please read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
at the end of your user talk page. For that request to be considered, you must:
- Confirm that you have read and understand the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements.
- State clearly how you are being compensated for your edits, and describe any affiliation or conflict of interest you might have with the subjects you have written about.
- Describe how you intend to edit such topics in the future.

Request reason:
I deeply regret my previous actions involving undisclosed paid editing on Wikipedia. I understand the seriousness of the issue and the harm it can cause to the platform's integrity. In the future, I am committed to editing Wikipedia articles completely transparently and ethically. I will begin by ensuring full disclosure of any conflicts of interest on my user page and the relevant article talk pages. This transparency will be a top priority to maintain the trust of the Wikipedia community. I will strictly adhere to Wikipedia's policies, including those related to neutrality, verifiability, and reliable sourcing. All of my edits will be made to present information in a neutral and unbiased manner, supported by reputable references. Additionally, I am dedicated to collaborating openly with other Wikipedia editors. I will actively participate in discussions, seek consensus when necessary, and be receptive to constructive feedback from the community. I understand the importance of avoiding conflicts of interest. I will refrain from editing articles with a confrontation unless there is a compelling reason; I follow Wikipedia's guidelines for transparent editing in such cases. I will prioritize the quality of my edits over quantity, focusing on making meaningful contributions that enhance the encyclopedia's reliability and usefulness to readers. I have taken the time to educate myself about Wikipedia's guidelines and policies to avoid repeating past mistakes. I am committed to contributing positively to Wikipedia and rebuilding trust within the community. Thank you for considering my request for a second chance.I'm confirming that I read and understand the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements.
I believe in full transparency when it comes to my editing activities on Wikipedia. Here is a clear description of my compensation and affiliations:
Compensation: I want to make it unequivocally clear that I have never received any form of compensation, financial or otherwise, for my edits on Wikipedia. My contributions are entirely voluntary and are driven by my passion for contributing to the free dissemination of knowledge.
Affiliations: I am not affiliated with any organizations, companies, or individuals that would create a conflict of interest in my editing activities on Wikipedia. I have no financial, personal, or professional relationships with any subjects or topics I have written about on the platform.
Conflict of Interest: Given my commitment to maintaining neutrality and objectivity, I take conflict of interest (COI) issues seriously. If, in the future, I find myself in a situation where I do have a potential COI with a subject or topic I wish to edit, I will adhere to Wikipedia's guidelines by fully disclosing my affiliation on my user page and the relevant article talk pages. I will also seek consensus and input from the Wikipedia community before making any edits in such cases.
My primary goal is to ensure the accuracy and reliability of Wikipedia's content while upholding the highest standards of ethical editing. I am fully aware of Wikipedia's policies regarding COI editing and will adhere to them rigorously in all my future contributions. Goldabrun (talk) 11:48, 17 September 2023 (UTC)
Decline reason:
I'm not thrilled that you used the aid of a computer program to write this, but at least you didn't just ask an AI to generate a request for you, so I won't summarily decline this. That said, I have difficulty believing that you have a COI with one subject of your edits but not another, and I'm not convinced given the SPI information that you aren't a paid editor. Just as you were honest about the AI, we need that honesty from you totally. You will need to describe the nature of your COI and the connection you seem to have with other accounts. 331dot (talk) 23:34, 17 September 2023 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
Did you write this with an AI? 331dot (talk)
Be super honest, No I didn't. However, I took suggestions after writing from Grammarly. I know how to use AI to get better recommendations. But if I am not creative, those suggestions will not be beneficial to me. Goldabrun (talk) 13:44, 17 September 2023 (UTC)
Unblock Request
[edit]Hello @331dot,
I understand that it is my fault for undisclosed paid editing. In the recreation of the "Draft: Nick Ayala" article, I want to clarify that the original creation of this article was not by me but by other users. However, I have a personal association with the subject, Nick Ayala, and I have disclosed this relationship, as evidenced by my connection with @Kj cheetham last time before it was deleted. I was completely unaware that I couldn't create the same article. It is important to note that I have never received financial compensation from my client, Nick Ayala, for my contributions to Wikipedia. My edits and donations were made voluntarily, without any financial gain. I want to affirm the suspected SPI that I have no connections with other accounts engaging in coordinated editing or SP. I have an unused account, "Vimdhayakji," but it has never been used for editing. I participated in the Wikipedia Articles for deletion/Cad Crowd as an independent contributor nothing else.
I deeply regret any disruptive edits I have made on Wikipedia. I am new to the platform and acknowledge that I am in the process of learning and improving my editing skills. I will be more responsible and ethical Wikipedia contributor and am committed to achieving that. Goldabrun (talk) 19:32, 18 September 2023 (UTC)
- You will need to make a new request for someone else to review. Note that you do not need to be specifically paid for Wikipedia contributions to be a paid editor- if Nick Ayala is your client and he compensates you for any purpose, you are a paid editor. Otherwise, every paid editor would deny being specifically paid to make edits. 331dot (talk) 19:34, 18 September 2023 (UTC)
- I understand your point completely and I admit my mistake which I have done knowingly or unknowingly. Goldabrun (talk) 19:38, 18 September 2023 (UTC)
- How long does it take to review my user account. I already made a new request. Could you please review it again?

- Hi @331dot,
- I already made another request for unblock. Could you please review the unban appeal pleaseĀ :) Goldabrun (talk) 23:11, 4 October 2023 (UTC)

- Hello,
- @331dot
- Many days passed, and I received no response regarding my Block Appeal. I'm blocked and cannot ask any admins on their talk page for an Unblock Request. I don't want to get permanent by creating More than one request for Unblock. Pardon my mistake, but could you please ask other admins to review my request? Goldabrun (talk) 17:15, 15 November 2023 (UTC)
- Your request is open and visible to admins. There is nothing else that can be done, sorry. It will eventually be looked at. 331dot (talk) 17:17, 15 November 2023 (UTC)

OK, I was thinking about granting this, but another look at the edits convince me otherwise. First of all, Nick Ayala is your client but doesn't pay you--that's odd. Your COI was not clearly disclosed. Neither is any connection to Draft:Rastislav Å ipkovskĆ½. Then there's Bala Wunti. In other words, it does not look at all like you gave full disclosure. All those edits, the way you started your account, the things that are mentioned in the SPI (including what looks very much like collusion with other accounts including promotional ones), suggest to me that unblocking your account is not in the best interest of the project. Request reason:
Nick Ayala: I apologize for any confusion in my previous responses. I should clarify that while Nick Ayala is not a financial client, I have a personal association with him. I deeply regret that my previous contributions did not adequately disclose this association. I am committed to complete transparency moving forward and will ensure that all relevant affiliations are announced on my user page and relevant article talk pages.
Draft:Rastislav Å ipkovskĆ½: I acknowledge that I have created and edited the "Draft:Rastislav Å ipkovskĆ½" article. However, I disclosed the connection with him on my user and article talk pages. But unluckily, I removed the link from my user page. I admit this mistake.
Bala Wunti: I don't know this person. I edit this article as an independent contributor. Even I didn't create this article either. If a simple edits to disclose the connection, then I'm sorry.
I want to address the concerns raised in the SPI. I can assure you that I have no connections with any accounts involved in promotional editing, conspiracy, or other unethical practices. I acknowledge that my actions may have raised suspicions and apologize for any confusion. I am committed to working within Wikipedia's guidelines and cooperating fully with the community to maintain a transparent and collaborative editing environment.
I deeply regret any disruptions caused by my previous actions on Wikipedia. As a relatively new contributor, I understand I have much to learn and improve upon. I am fully committed to becoming a responsible and ethical Wikipedia editor and am dedicated to upholding Wikipedia's standards of integrity and transparency.
I appreciate your consideration of my appeal, and I respect your decision in this matter. If reinstated, I will ensure that all my contributions align with Wikipedia's guidelines and reflect a commitment to the project's best interests.
Decline reason:
Given the article's history with undisclosed paid editing, I'm somewhat hesitant to believe that you're telling us the full truth about Nicholas J. Ayala/Draft:Nick Ayala. Anyway: I have no way to know for sure whether or how exactly you are connected to the people you write about, but I can say that the articles all read like paid promotionĀ ā and that itself is a problem. Similarly, I can't be certain whether you had ChatGPT write the last few paragraphs of your unblock request, but they certainly read like it. That, too, makes me think that you don't understand the issues at play here; consequently, I am declining this request. --Blablubbs (talk) 17:48, 9 December 2023 (UTC)
