Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Gmd18, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Ian and I work with Wiki Education; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Hello from a classmate!

[edit]

I think it's really cool that you are talking about weightlifting. It's a good idea to tell others the benefits and how to perform exercises correctly! Adin smith (talk) 17:48, 4 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Cool Music Taste

[edit]

Your taste in music is really diverse! I'm used to people saying country or rap, but never both. It's cool that you listen to both! :) MeanJarco (talk) 18:45, 18 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your Favorite Movies

[edit]

Grease is a great movie! I totally agree. Though, I have unfortunately never seen Fast and Furious. I'll have to add it to my list! EMLEdits (talk) 17:35, 27 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent editing history at Strength training ‎ shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. We understand that you are a new user and think you are improving the article, but please stop making this edit. Deleting your warnings does not hide them. You've seen the warnings and the explanations and you are continuing to make the same edit. That is edit warring, and you will almost certainly be blocked if you continue. Meters (talk) 22:38, 3 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Meters Since this is a WikiEdu student, I wonder if there's a college professor you can contact. I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 22:39, 3 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Pinging the associated Wiki Ed users: user:Helaine (Wiki Ed) and user:Ian (Wiki Ed). Meters (talk) 22:54, 3 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I dream of horses, if this user doesn't stop they'll end up blocked. Drmies (talk) 01:03, 4 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Drmies I'm not surprised. I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 01:06, 4 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Drmies@I dream of horses I will message the professor and ask him to intervene. Ian (Wiki Ed) (talk) 14:04, 4 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
^^ @Meters (forgot to ping you on the previous message). Ian (Wiki Ed) (talk) 14:10, 4 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I'd hate to see a student get blocked. They were not taking any notice of the posts to their talk page and another revert might have been the last straw. Meters (talk) 15:55, 4 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you Ian. I appreciate all the work you're doing. Drmies (talk) 16:03, 4 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
