Synoman Barris Hi - just a quick work about that account you brought to my attention this morning. We haven't done this part of the course yet, so don't feel bad about this, but this comment by you on their talk page wasn't appropriate. Let me explain...
- If you believed that the editor was a confused newb who was trying to contribute in good faith, calling them a persistent spammer would be insulting, and a failure to WP:AGF.
- If you believed that the editor was a troll who was intentionally disrupting the project (which is what I believe), then WP:DENY applies. Don't insult them, argue with them, or basically give them the attention that they crave - just revert, report to admins for them to be blocked, and ignore them.
I'm not trying to give you a hard time - just one to remember for next time. If you conclude that someone is acting in bad faith, cease communication, report and move on with your day - don't give in to the temptation to tell them what you think of them, it serves no purpose and encourages them to do it again. - @Girth Summit: Thank you for the advice Girth, I will surely do that next time I come across such a situation. Cheers Megan Barris (Lets talk📧) 09:08, 25 June 2020 (UTC)
BLPPROD
[edit]Hi Synoman Barris, while I was looking through your contribs trying to see which article you and Commander Waterford were talking about, I came across your BLPPROD of Riko Kohara. The initial state of the article is here - that is not eligible for a BLPPROD, because it contains a link to an external link to a page with information about the subject. It's a crappy, promotional Wordpress source, but it's a source - see WP:BLPPROD, it only applies to pages that have no sources or external links at all that support any of the information. Not meaning to give you a hard time, just letting you know ;) GirthSummit (blether) 15:33, 26 June 2020 (UTC)
- Girth Summit, Actually I didn’t see that, thanks. Megan Barris (Lets talk📧) 15:37, 26 June 2020 (UTC)
- Girth Summit, Mind going through my other CSD and PROD to see if they are okay. Cheers Megan Barris (Lets talk📧) 15:39, 26 June 2020 (UTC)
- Synoman Barris, do you maintain logs? If so, I'd be happy to skim through; if not, I don't fancy spending ages digging through your contribs, happy for them to be reviewed in the normal course of things as others work through the queues. Logging CSDs and PRODs isn't mandatory, but many people do it for the sake of accountability/transparency - see the links on my userpage for mine - see your Tinkle preferences for how to enabled the logging. - Girth Summit, Yeah i do , see CSD log and PROD log. Cheers Megan Barris (Lets talk📧) 16:22, 26 June 2020 (UTC)
- Synoman Barris nothing in those logs is jumping out at me as being problematic - I haven't reviewed each of the articles, but I'm not seeing any BLP PRODs used for articles that have references. Cheers GirthSummit (blether) 16:30, 26 June 2020 (UTC)
- Girth Summit, Yeah i do , see CSD log and PROD log. Cheers Megan Barris (Lets talk📧) 16:22, 26 June 2020 (UTC)
