The article Westbourne School for Girls, has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Article, properly titled without a comma at the end, already exists as redirect to The Glasgow Academy
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Postcard Cathy (talk) 07:06, 21 March 2020 (UTC)
Muriel Sanderson moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Muriel Sanderson, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. noq (talk) 23:16, 26 March 2020 (UTC)
The article Alice Robson (Doctor) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Fails WP:BIO. A source from a hospital reporting on their own history, a passing mention, and primary sources? While being the first to do something is an achievement, it doesn't automatically make someone notable, as there are thousands upon thousands of women to be the first to graduate in X at university Y.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

Annie Walker Craig moved to draftspace
[edit]Thanks for your contributions to Annie Walker Craig. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it has no sources and Not ready for mainspace. This is a BLP and a lot of content is missing references. . I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. CNMall41 (talk) 18:44, 28 October 2023 (UTC)
- Hi, Thanks for the feedback-I'm new at this . I'm not sure what you mean by no sources. I have links within the article and 9 references...just trying to clarify what's needed GirlOK (talk) 19:56, 28 October 2023 (UTC)
- HI - please pause for a second - I have a big edit to put in then I'll talk to you some more. thx. --Tagishsimon (talk) 21:20, 28 October 2023 (UTC)
- Okay, quickly: I've made some large edits to the article. I was keeping some notes in a text file, but since you;re around right now, let me post them here now...
- I think four of the refs were formatted as simple external links, so did not show up in the references section at the botton of the page. A couple of editors have worked on them & they're looking much better now. There are some sentences which should probably be attended to in the draft - e.g. where you speculate in the lead that she may be have been known by other names, or speculate that "It is impossible to know although it is hard to believe she quietly retired from the fight." ... the WP writer should not have a voice & thus cannot speculate in this way.
- I've removed three other sentences - please reinstate them if you have sources for thm:
- Whether Annie was politically active in the Midlands is unknown, but she turned into a tenacious campaigner with a ferocious commitment to Socialism and votes for women. She reported on activities in Glasgow for The Suffragette newspaper.
- Her membership of the School Board indicates some serious political connections in the local area but what they were is unknown.
- From there-on evidence is fragmentary, It may be that acting under other names Annie was involved in further action.
- I've now overwritten the last 3 edits you made. I'll go back in and reinstate them, then promote the article, then tell you I've done that. Please give me about 3 minutes. thx. --Tagishsimon (talk) 21:24, 28 October 2023 (UTC)
And now it's promoted as an article. I removed the inline external link you made to Thomas Mason - I'll add a note to the article shortly, but you can have it for a wee while. --Tagishsimon (talk) 21:29, 28 October 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks very much...I get it and that's been a really useful learning session. Thanks for taking the time GirlOK (talk) 21:30, 28 October 2023 (UTC)
- No problem. Thank you for doing the article. I'll try to make some more small improvements. Any more refs to newspapers always useful since they evidence general notability. There are two areas where there are no citations for assertions - 1) that she moved around a lot as a child / father was a teacher and 2) the executrix stuff in the final paragraph. Not hugely important to reference these, but obvs better if it can be done. --Tagishsimon (talk) 21:35, 28 October 2023 (UTC)

Tagishsimon (talk) 13:37, 29 October 2023 (UTC)- Hurrah-the feedback from the previous article definitely helped me. I will continue to submit for review until I get more confident.
- Thanks GirlOK (talk) 13:39, 29 October 2023 (UTC)
- I'll try to keep an eye out for your work. Here's some more feedback fwiw:
- Section headings - sentence case (only the first word capitalised)
- Would be ideal if you used the {{Cite web}}, {{Cite book}} &c templates for references. Maybe worth a quick look at Help:Referencing for beginners#RefToolbar and Help:Referencing for beginners with citation templates
- For refs from newspapers, ideal to have the story title/headline as well as the newspaper and date.
- For my money, you sometimes introduce your references too early in sentences. Ideally refs are at the end of the sentence, except where there's a particular assertion within the sentence which deserves an immediate ref.
- References after punctuation, not before.
- Finally, and again this is probably just my personal preference, you have a repeated style of what I would call backward sentences; example: Born in 1880 on the southside of Glasgow, Bella Williams, met ... rather than Bella Williams was born in 1880 on the southside of Glasgow. She met....
- But mainly, I'm delighted to read your work. t/y. --Tagishsimon (talk) 13:55, 29 October 2023 (UTC)
- The free use rationale on File:Annie Walker Craig estimated date 1920s.jpg is looking good to me; spot on. --Tagishsimon (talk) 14:49, 29 October 2023 (UTC)
You don't say to what Isabella Lappin was elected. Dunbartonshire County Council? --Tagishsimon (talk) 18:55, 29 October 2023 (UTC)

AfC notification: Draft:Jane Falconer Coulter has a new comment
[edit]- Thanks -I haven't finished..but it got a bit screwed up GirlOK (talk) 16:30, 30 October 2023 (UTC)
- lol. You created it in article space ... probably the best way to start articles in draft space is to temporarily create a link here, or somewhere, and include draft: at the start of the link, so Draft:My new article. It'll be interesting to see if you can come up with refs to support notability of Jane Coulter ... there's a long history of first women to x being hard to make stick on WP. Good luck. --Tagishsimon (talk) 16:46, 30 October 2023 (UTC)
- Oh, or if you search for draft:My next article (i.e. draft: plus the article name) you'll get a redlink in the search results which you can use to start the draft article. --Tagishsimon (talk) 17:17, 30 October 2023 (UTC)
