Your comments on Talk:iUniverse and Talk:Angela Gheorghiu
[edit]Hello, there. I have deleted your comment at Talk:IUniverse complaining about an experience with that company and archived your two lengthy essays at Talk:Angela Gheorghiu. I have no opinion one way or the other about your views. However, this was an entirely inappropriate use of article talk pages. Please do not use talk pages as a forum. See What Wikipedia is Not and our Talk page guidelines for more information. Regards, Voceditenore (talk) 05:59, 25 April 2010 (UTC)
- I have also deleted the two inappropriate essays you added to Talk:Richard Wagner. Voceditenore (talk) 13:35, 25 April 2010 (UTC)
Please do not use Wikipedia for self-promotion
[edit]You seem to be using Wikipedia solely for the purpose of promoting yourself and your writing. Your addition of spam links to sites displaying or selling your writings to Angela Gheorghiu [1], Diego Maradona [2], Plácido Domingo [3], and Patrick Stübing [4], have been reverted. Please do not attempt to do this again. Wikipedia:Spam has guidance on this, please read it. You also need to read Wikipedia:User pages. Your current user page, User:Gianni Truvianni, does not follow the guidelines there and contains extensive self-promotional material and external links, not directly relevant to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a a blog, web hosting service, social networking service, or vehicle for self-promotion. Voceditenore (talk) 18:17, 1 June 2013 (UTC)
I assure I have sent no spam and merely posted a link which I felt was relative to the subject and nothing more. Now if your rules do not allow this, so be it but please spare the "spam" note and how I am here to promote myself. And as for what wikipedia is? Basically a bad joke full of misinformation, facts which are at best questionable and promotion for big companies so your little rant is at best ridiculous as well as hypocritical. Of course if you want to remove my account, go ahead. It is no skin of teeth.
- Thank you for removing the promotional material from your user page. The multiple links you added to articles were to Amazon.com pages where your books are for sale. These kinds of commercial links are not acceptable here at all, nor are links which do not contain material which has no use for actually improving the clarity and content of the article. Wikipedia:External links has detailed guidance on this. Wikipedia:Conflict of interest, particularly this section, also has relevant guidance. No one is going to delete your account, although inappropriate user pages are often deleted. The reason I warned you about the link-spamming (and yes, that's what it's called here) is that editors who persistently do this can be blocked from editing, particularly when their only edits to Wikipedia have been to add such links and to create a promotional user page. I am not an administrator, and cannot block you or anyone else. I am just giving you some advice on how to avoid that outcome. Hopefully, you have now taken it on board.
