Copyright problem removed
[edit]Prior content in this article duplicated one or more previously published sources. The material was copied from: http://www.angelagheorghiu.com/biography/. Infringing material has been rewritten or removed and must not be restored, unless it is duly released under a compatible license. (For more information, please see "using copyrighted works from others" if you are not the copyright holder of this material, or "donating copyrighted materials" if you are.) For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or published material; such additions will be deleted. Accordingly, the material may be rewritten, but only if it does not infringe on the copyright of the original or plagiarize from that source. Please see our guideline on non-free text for how to properly implement limited quotations of copyrighted text. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with these policies. Thank you. Voceditenore (talk) 16:05, 12 February 2011 (UTC)
Even if it hadn't been a copyvio, it was completely unencyclopedic and promotional in tone, and had no references to support any of the assertions. Also, by pasting that text in wholesale, all the formatting and references from previous editors (representing a lot of work) was removed. If you wish to make additions. Do them gradually, in your own words maintaining a neutral point of view, referencing them, and respecting the existing formatting. Also please do not add commerical links to Amazon. The wig story
[edit]My understanding is that the wig incident happened in Japan, not New York as explained in the article. The reference — which is not a good one — doesn't clarify this one way or the other. Does anyone have better information? --Kleinzach 05:26, 16 April 2011 (UTC)
- It looks like it was on the Japan tour. I've clarified and added 2 (better) references. I also changed the peculiar wording ("...called for Micaela to wear a blonde wig, a nuance to which the soprano refused to wear it.") Voceditenore (talk) 10:57, 16 April 2011 (UTC)
Official Facebook page on external links
[edit]Hello. The official page was here on Wikipedia for a while and later on removed. Is there a particular reason, taking into account that it's the official page on FB? http://www.facebook.com/angelagheorghiuofficial Thanks Madamabutterfly (talk) 19:00, 25 April 2011 (UTC)
- The guideline WP:LINKSTOAVOID lists in the "Links normally to be avoided" section: "Links to social networking sites (such as Myspace and Facebook), chat or discussion forums/groups (such as Yahoo! Groups), Twitter feeds, Usenet newsgroups or e-mail lists". I would imagine this covers the removal of a link to that page. The WP:EL page it is from says: "Links in the "External links" section should be kept to a minimum" - so there already being a link to the Official website will be sufficient. Hope this helps. Yours, almost-instinct 14:10, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
- Clear. Thank you! Madamabutterfly (talk) 21:18, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
