A tag has been placed on your user page, User:George Quinn Ltd, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be blatant advertising which only promotes or publicises a company, product, group or service, and which is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages; user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

If you can indicate why the page is not blatant advertising, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: Click here to contest this speedy deletion which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy deletion candidate). Doing so will take you to your user talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also edit this page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would help make it encyclopedic. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. —C.Fred (talk) 15:49, 7 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion

[edit]

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because... it presents information that is of interest for the general public and for other business from the interior design market. The name associated with the user and the article have no connection or interest other than giving information about the Irish leader from the stair parts market. I would have created the article using my own Wikipedia account, but I found it more relevant to create a new user with this name. --George Quinn Ltd (talk) 15:57, 7 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Well, one problem then is that your username is a gross violation of the WP:Username policy. You will need to create a new account or change your username. Further, I note that a reviewer looked at the draft article you created and found it needs work. You should have continued to work on the draft rather than copy the material to your user page. —C.Fred (talk) 16:02, 7 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Hi C.Fred. Thank you for your advice. I didn't know about the policy against the username until I uploaded this article. I will do something about it, or just upload the article with a different account (my own this time). I'll improve the article as well - any advice on this (I know about the review from Happysailor, but I have the feeling that he just looked at the name of the article and compared it with the username and took a decision based on this)?!--George Quinn Ltd (talk) 07:34, 8 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I have consolidated the material from your user page to Draft:George Quinn. —C.Fred (talk) 16:06, 7 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Oriel collection - Modern staircase design designed by George Quinn Stair Parts Plus.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Oriel collection - Modern staircase design designed by George Quinn Stair Parts Plus.jpg, which you've attributed to George Quinn Stair Parts Plus. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 00:40, 24 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
