User talk:Gelegenheitsleser
Welcome
[edit]Hello, Gelegenheitsleser, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I notice that one of the first articles you created was Draft:Lutz Michael Wegner, which appears to be an article about yourself. This is a common mistake made by new Wikipedians—as this is an encyclopedia, we wouldn't expect to have an article about every contributor. Your user page, however, is a great place to write about yourself, making sure to stay within user page guidelines. Just click your user name at the top of the screen when you are logged in, and edit it normally.
The page you created about yourself may well be deleted from the encyclopedia. If it is deleted and you wish to retrieve its contents, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

DGG ( talk ) 00:40, 8 April 2015 (UTC)This is excellent news. The challenge you face now is that, to improve the article yourself is difficult. See WP:COI, something the review process protects you from. Now it is an article the rules 'change'. There are mechanisms to allow edits from you (but not by you, ideally) to happen. The article's talk page and {{Request edit}} is an excellent mechanism, because it lets you ask for alterations to the article while remaining at arms length.
What you do is deploy the Request edit template at the head of a new section on the talk page, and place your detailed request below it. Type it out in the way you would in the article, including citations. If you include citations deploy {{Reflist talk}} at the foot of your piece. This gathers any citations in the right place for your request rather than allowing them to float to the foot of the page. Fiddle Faddle 08:51, 8 April 2015 (UTC)
