New talk page! Woo!

Buddy, fix the vandals-from shark kid Hello, no problem, I think everything is fixed now...I didn't intend to change much, but I got to thinking that we should have re-shuffled the orders by rank of importance....looks good, and it's good that we've got people out there checking the page often for vandals, it didn't used to be that good. Welcome to LGBT studies!

[edit]

Hi, Gekedo, welcome to WikiProject LGBT Studies!

We are a growing community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to identifying, categorizing, and improving articles of interest to the LGBT community. Some points that may be helpful:

  • Our main aim is to help improve LGBT-related articles, so if someone asks for help with an article, please try your hardest to help them if you are able.
  • Most important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
  • The project has several ongoing and developing activities, such as article quality assessment, peer review and a project-wide article collaboration, all of which you are welcome to take part in. We also have a unique program to improve our lower quality articles, Jumpaclass, so please consider signing up there.
  • If you have another language besides English, please consider adding yourself to our translation section, to help us improve our foreign LGBT topics.
  • If you're planning to stay, have a square in our quilt! You can put anything you want in it.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask on the talk page, and we will be happy to help you.

And once again - Welcome!

Same to you!

Question

[edit]

I saw you edited the latest WikiDefcon. Is their a group of people who edit it, or can any established user edit it if it needs it?

Template

[edit]

Yes, it is useful: {{subst:non-admin fwarn}}. I added the bit about the contributions being monitored manually as he was starting to annoy me. GDonato (talk) 16:19, 15 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just to let you know I removed the vandalism warning from the userpage of InspiredMind as they were the only significant contributor to the article. This is allowed in the WP:CSD - G7, which is how I have left the article - i.e. with a speedy tag on it. Cheers --Spartaz Humbug! 22:41, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Peter Gabriel 3

[edit]

That's probably a good idea. I'm not sure what the resolution was (200 or 300 dpi), but I don't think it needs to be any larger than 200 x 200 pixels (and maybe that's what you meant). -- Gyrofrog (talk) 20:59, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

[edit]

Thanks for warning that shark kid guy after he edited my page. I know the creep in real life and I told him that he would be blocked and he doesn't believe me, can he be taught a lesson? BeaverWithChainsaw 19:24, 30 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I made a new account, so I am trying to port over the stuff from my old account to my new account. Please stop preventing me from doing it. I am trying to redirect the page. If you do not trust me, I can come back as Orthodoxy. Polleo 20:26, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: IP 149.254.201.121 (Vandal on Https / 15th April 07)

[edit]

Hi Gekedo. I was hoping you might be able to help. I discovered last night that I am using an IP which has previously been warned for removing legitimate content from an encyclopedia entry. I login at the moment from public machines, and via my mobile phone. The IP you warned on 15th April, 149.254.201.121 is the public shared IP used by all Pay as you go Internet users on T-Mobile GPRS. As I login on this route and have an account, I will keep it in my sights and leap wildly if anything comes up in the future!!! :) Thanks again for your vigilance, and just to make sure persons know, I will add the ipowner tag to the IP page. Re:The "Wikipedia is evil" guy

[edit]

I know. I still am assuming good faith with the matter anyway. But he hasn't edited since and I left a message on his talk page and replied to the message he left of the articles talk page. I'm going to wait and see if he continues with the matter regarding Ben10. But thanks for the heads up :D. AngelOfSadness talk 20:05, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use disputed for Image:Urbania.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Urbania.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:19, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. New deal for page patrollers

[edit]

Hi Gekedo,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
