I have no idea how this deletion discussion was a keep. Did you read the discussion? Two editors with extensive experience editing US city articles made lengthy contributions. Please discuss your rationale. Thank you. Magnolia677 (talk) 04:22, 4 November 2015 (UTC)
- I explained my rationale in the close. GedUK 13:05, 4 November 2015 (UTC)
Hi Ged, (as I saw the template have been asked for a full protection by an IP user and been locked by you) can you return the template name back to its original name of "Ethnic groups in Malaysia" just like other Southeast Asian countries ethnic templates: {{Ethnic groups in Brunei}}, {{Ethnic groups in Cambodia}}, {{Ethnic groups in Laos}}, {{Ethnic groups in Myanmar}}, {{Ethnic groups in the Philippines}}, {{Ethnic groups in Singapore}}, {{Ethnic groups in Thailand}} and {{Ethnic groups in Vietnam}} as the template have been "controversially moved" by Alexander Iskandar without any notice before. Thanks! ~ Muffin Wizard ;) 08:22, 5 November 2015 (UTC)
- Not really, no. There needs to be a clear consensus for this article's name, which is a big part of the current dispute. GedUK 12:50, 5 November 2015 (UTC)
Dear Ged, thank for correcting me regarding the deletion rationale for Fazal Qureshi because I didnt know that he met A7 by virtue of being the son and brother of notable personalities. Thanks for that. However, the article creator User:Jinku5454 has removed the PROD tag and seems to defend his article at Talk:Fazal Qureshi. What do you recommend? He seems like a new editor and has limited knowledge of Wikipedia procedures which is why I have left a note on his talk page for Wikipedia know=hows.Pixarh (talk) 17:39, 5 November 2015 (UTC)
- Hi there. Just for clarity, the speedy deletion criteria have a much lower threshold than the normal WP:AFD ones, that's why it's speedy. Notability isn't inherited, so just because he has a famous father doesn't mean he's notable in his own right. It's just for A7, I'm not testing for notability, I'm testing for an indication that he might be significant.
- The BLPPROD tag can be removed if they've added an external source, which they have.
- If you think the article should be deleted, you should nominate it at WP:AFD, where they will assess whether he meets the notability requirements. Hope this helps. GedUK 16:48, 7 November 2015 (UTC)

Protection of University of Bologna
Hello. The protection of the article has expired (the third protection in quick succession, see protection log), and the same IP-hopper in Dubai is right back at it again, just like after previous short-time protections. So could we please have a lomger protection this time? Thomas.W talk 16:01, 10 November 2015 (UTC)
- Hello Thomas.W. FYI Ged UK has not edited since Nov 7. If you haven't already you will want to file a WP:RFPP ASAP to protect the page again. Unless, of course, G is online at this moment :-) Best regards to you both. MarnetteD|Talk 16:15, 10 November 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks MarnetteD. I'll request protection at RFPP instead. Thomas.W talk 16:41, 10 November 2015 (UTC)
I am not sure why this is happening
Hello Ged UK. My wikignome work includes working with the Category:Wikipedia pages with incorrect protection templates. Today User:ChuckNoll vs Vince Lombardi showed up in the cat. I checked and your edit here protected the page so I am not sure why this happened. Is it perhaps that the user added the protection templates with the next edit? I tried a "Null edit" to clear it and that did not work. If you can't track down why this happened no worries. I can also ask Redrose64 who is well versed in dealing with these. Thanks for your time. MarnetteD|Talk 18:10, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
My posting the link to that editors user page has added your talk page to the category. Curiouser and curiouser. MarnetteD|Talk 18:43, 7 November 2015 (UTC)- Well at least I know why my second post happened. Apologies for all the blue pings on your page. I can't tell if they are better than the red pings or not :-) MarnetteD|Talk 19:39, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
- @MarnetteD: I don't notice a difference between colour of ping to be honest! If you hadn't said anything I'm not sure I'd have even known! I'm going to guess that somewhere in the template it says it's only for mainspace, but I don't really know! GedUK 12:09, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for the reply G. You probably saw that I just removed them. That doesn't effect that protections and the editor hasn't complained. Enjoy your weekend! MarnetteD|Talk 14:45, 13 November 2015 (UTC)

- This has obviously been actioned by now. If you need an urgent protection, it's probably best to go to WP:AN or the IRC channel. GedUK 12:11, 17 November 2015 (UTC)
Can you hide some of the recent vandalism. Hindus consider her as a Goddess and it would hurt their sentiment if they read it. --Galaxy Kid (talk) 13:04, 17 November 2015 (UTC)
- Hi there. That sort of vandalism doesn't really get hidden, and it's unlikely someone would see it unless they went looking for it. GedUK 13:18, 17 November 2015 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
