Welcome to Wikipedia, Gearspring! My name is Ryan, aka Acetic Acid. I noticed that you were new and haven't received any messages yet. I just wanted to see how you were doing. Wikipedia can be a little intimidating at first, since it uses different formatting than other sites that use HTML and CSS. Thanks for your message. Sorry I took so long to reply. You're welcome for your welcome (Say that five times fast :P). If an editor feels a topic isn't worthy of having its article, he or she can redirect that article to a more general article that covers the information. For example, let's say hypothetically that there is a really good article on apples. It talks about everything, including apple seeds. Say someone else decides to write a separate article on apple seeds. Another editor might see this as pointless and redirect Apple Seed to Apples since the article on apples would cover that information anyway. I'm not sure if this was the case with you. Articles can be deleted (must be voted on first, see WP:VFD). But anyone can create a redirect. Ac e tic '^Acid 03:16, 26 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Harry Potter

I'm not sure Speculation about the Harry Potter Storyline is appropriate. This article may function as an original research magnet, which isn't what wikipedia is about. What do you think? Friday (talk) 03:10, 24 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

It doesn't have to truely be "original" to be original research. I don't see much way for that article to ever be encyclopedic, but I can see the theoretical value of it keeping all the speculation in one place. However, I doubt it will really accomplish that. People still put speculation in the oth1er articles all the time. I also recently discovered Knight2King theory, which I don't really believe should be an article either. BTW, some of this stuff would probably go great at Harry Potter Wikicities, even if it's not all appropriate for here.
