Reassessing Stub and Start class Philippine-related articles
Hello. I appreciate your numerous efforts in fixing Tambayan pages. I see you also use Rater in reassessing articles. The Assessment statistics table is quite dejecting; a lot of Philippine-related articles have been assessed as Stub and Start (40+% each). To verify, I have randomly checked several Stubs and Start-class articles and, upon checking the articles, have found that many assessed as such should actually be one level higher. Although I quite trust Rater in recommending articles to be assessed as Stubs or Start-class, I do not fully trust its recommendations for B (and even C) classes since many articles fail the B-class criteria and should be lower in actuality. I am currently reassessing some Stub articles in my free time. If you have time and are willing, can you please assist in reassessing Stubs and Start-class Philippine-related articles? Sanglahi86 (talk) 20:31, 31 August 2022 (UTC)
- Hi! I admit I do sometimes use the Rater recommendations but usually only if the probability is above 60+ percent. I'd be willing to manually scrutinize any Stub and Start class articles I come across though in light of this. Thanks! Ganmatthew (talk • contribs) 04:44, 1 September 2022 (UTC)

Needs Citation Tag at Juan Ponce Enrile
Hi. I noticed you added a More Citations Needed tag on Juan Ponce Enrile in May 2022. The article has changed a lot since then. I was wondering if you think the tag can be moved down to specific sections now, rather than the whole page? (I won't ask if it can be removed, since I see there are still sections that need more citations.) Just so people who want to do cleanup (like me, hehe) can figure out what to focus on or where to start? Thanks. - MistahPeemayer (talk) 09:05, 22 February 2023 (UTC)
- Yup, it does seem like the article has improved since then. I think it's good to remove the actual tag now but retain the four citation needed footnotes at the claim/paragraph level. Thanks! Ganmatthew (talk • contribs) 23:57, 22 February 2023 (UTC)
Request in fixing section layout
Hello Ganmatthew. The Administrative divisions section of Philippines is currently not optimized for mobile view. I tried to adapt the layout used in Vietnam#Administrative_divisions in my sandbox, although I think that code might be too much/complex instead of a mere ordered list. Since you are adept at css layouts, can you please fix the layout of the said section? Perhaps you also have better ideas for that section. Thanks. Sanglahi86 (talk) 05:05, 28 February 2023 (UTC)
- Hi! So from what I've seen, it already does match the one on the Vietnam page, but I've made a few edits to the layout so that it actually folds on narrow screens or mobile view. I also switched it to use a display flex grid so that it treats each region as tiles so that it adjusts the number of columns accordingly to the screen width. Feel free to modify further! Ganmatthew (talk • contribs) 10:54, 28 February 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you. The content is now mobile view-optimized. As an aside, do you think it would be good idea to replace the plain svg map of Administrative divisions section with an image map (like this old one)? If I remember correctly, this old image map was generated manually by filling in the png image using GIMP; unfortunately, this caused some "holes" within the svg; the old map also was difficult to maintain because it was a png and not an svg. HueMan1 was able to upload a new svg version of the map, which is the one currently used in the section. To add interactivity and improve the Administrative divisions section, I was thinking of converting that svg to an image map. I tried searching online and found no easy way to convert the svg paths to polygon points, which image map recognizes. Sanglahi86 (talk) 02:30, 1 March 2023 (UTC)
- Hmmm, it sounds like a good idea though I'm not really that familiar with working with SVG files so I might not be able to help out. But I'm in support of the idea since its a typical thing on other Wikipedia pages as well. Ganmatthew (talk • contribs) 03:11, 1 March 2023 (UTC)
- That's OK. I might try to find a manual way to select only the largest islands, then probably try to rediscover how to use GIMP to extract the points from the SVG. For now, it seems like a very tedious task, so I guess it is sufficient to use the plain svg image in the section. Thanks again for your help. Sanglahi86 (talk) 06:04, 1 March 2023 (UTC)
