Please help me with... I have created a Sandbox User:Gabriele_Segalla/sandbox for a chemical and I have created an infobox as well. In the infobox I have two issues:
- The CAS number does not work, by clicking it I get (correctly) in the Common Chemistry Website but it states Your Search Returned Zero Results. How can I handle this?
- The Input from Wikidata section of the Template:Chembox states that "ECHA InfoCard ID is read from Wikidata", yet I do not see the ECHA InfoCard in the infobox. Again, how can I handle this?
Thank you.

- Leaving the helpme template here in case someone can help, but you're probably better off asking your questions at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Chemistry. Thanks. Darylgolden(talk) Ping when replying 07:03, 20 February 2020 (UTC)
- I see no indication that the Common Chemistry Website has an entry for menthyl nicotinate. I tried searching for that name and also came up with zero results. Where did you get the CAS number from? (I also by accident searched the website for methyl nicotinate and found an entry under CAS number 93-60-7; if I put that into the template, the correct page is linked to, so the template is OK.)
- I haven't tested that, but I would expect that the Wikidata functionality needs the page to be associated with a Wikidata item. Your sandbox isn't (and shouldn't be), so that will likely only work when the template is used on a live article with a Wikidata item. Huon (talk) 08:50, 20 February 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you Huon. The molecule is menthyl nicotinate not methyl nicotinate. By clicking the ChemSpider number 14685547 on the infobox in my Sabdox User:Gabriele_Segalla/sandbox you will reach a page about menthyl nicotinate. How can the menthyl nicotinate entry be inserted onto the Common Chemistry Website?
- I also thought it was so and I hope we are both right. --Gabriele Segalla (talk) 13:57, 20 February 2020 (UTC)
- Sorry Huon, I din't answer to your question Where did you get the CAS number from? So, I'm also creating a Sandbox in Italian [Utente:Gabriele_Segalla/Sandbox] for the menthyl nicotinate and at the item CAS number (Numero CAS) I have inserted the same number (40594-65-8) and I reach a page listing several databases containing the menthyl nicotinate entry. Thought was the same for english wikipedia but obviously it is not. --Gabriele Segalla (talk) 14:37, 20 February 2020 (UTC)
- OK, that's weird because the pages linked from the Italian infobox confirm that the CAS number indeed is correct but Common Chemistry, which advertises itself as "a CAS solution", doesn't know of it. Common Chemistry has a contact form; that's probably the easiest way to let them know about the gap in their coverage. Huon (talk) 18:11, 20 February 2020 (UTC)
- Yes, it is weird. I wrote to Common Chemistry usign the contact form and will inform about the outcome, if somehow interesting... Meanwhile I handled the issue using the CASNoOther= property. --Gabriele Segalla (talk) 22:52, 22 February 2020 (UTC)
