VER, USEPROSE and MOS

[edit]

Hiya. And welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be making similar changes across a lot of articles. Before you continue on, please note that:

  • WP:VER describes Wikipedia's policy on adding reliable and verifiable references. As with your other additions, in this edit you added a complex table which is not supported by any references. If adding content, including which club teams play in which competitions, you must provide a reference. Content which is not supported by a reliable and verifiable reference is likely to be removed.
  • WP:USEPROSE describes Wikipedia's policy on how information should be communicated. In short, unless there is a good reason for information to be represented in a table or a list, then it should not be. This table you added for example could easily (and much more simply) be covered by a single sentence. Like "St. John's fields teams in the Duhallow Junior B and C grades". Simple prose is preferred over complex tables.
  • MOS:HEAD describes Wikipedia's style guide for section headings. Section headings should be "sentence case". IE: Only the first word (and any titles/proper nouns/etc) should be capitalised. The word "grade" or even "championship" should not be capitalised.

Please consider taking a look at your recent editions, in the context of the relevant guidelines, and maybe tweak them. Retrospectively. Before continuing on with whatever it is that you are seemingly on course to do across many (or many dozens) of other articles. Cheers. Guliolopez (talk) 13:25, 5 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. A lot of people in my area don’t know what grade clubs first second teams etc are in so that’s why I added the grade table GaA24 (talk) 20:01, 5 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. You might please want to take a look at the project's core content policies. Including those summarised in the discussions about why ""it is true" or "it is useful" are not (on their own) sufficient criteria for inclusion. "People might want to know" is a good starting point. Sure. But "people can verify in other sources" is critically important. Please don't add/re-add content without also adding verifiable sources. Thanks. Guliolopez (talk) 08:59, 6 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, 2018 Duhallow Junior A Hurling Championship, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. Notice

The article 2020 Cork GAA Season has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This article has been created in both draft space and article space, which appears to be an attempt to game the system. Neither version has any in-line citations, so that verification is difficult, and it does not satisfy event notability. Large sections are incomplete, some because they have to do with future events, but Wikipedia is not a crystal ball. The references are simply a URL Dump. The creation of this article in both draft space and article space has been disruptive, and the least disruptive way to minimize the impact is to delete it from article space so that the draft can be expanded and then submitted for re-review.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. The article 2022 Christy Ring Cup has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Draft:2012 Duhallow Junior A Hurling Championship a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into 2012 Duhallow Junior A Hurling Championship. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. — Mikehawk10 (talk) 19:02, 10 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on 2012 Duhallow Junior A Hurling Championship requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organized event (tour, function, meeting, party, etc.) that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Start it in draft space. You will get no traction in main space until you can prove the event is notable in a draft article. The main space title has been protected from further re-creation, except by an experienced editor who approves a draft for publication. ~Anachronist (talk) 05:57, 16 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on 2018 Duhallow Junior A Hurling Championship requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. IDHT

Hi. If you haven't yet read WP:IDHT, then you might want to give it a quick glance. Guliolopez (talk) 11:01, 30 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked

[edit]

I have blocked you indefinitely for WP:SPA creations of articles, a large percentage of which are deleted; failure to communicate; and persistent logged out editing with Special:contributions/51.37.183.112. See WP:GAB for your appeal rights.--Bbb23 (talk) 12:40, 30 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article 2020 Banteer/Lyre GAA Season has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Subject fails WP:NSEASONS and WP:GNG. While, per WP:NSEASONS, "individual seasons of teams in top professional league" may meet the notability criteria, this season (for a local amateur GAA club) does not. The sources (two tweets and a limited match results page?) do not even support the text. Not to mind supporting the notability of the team's season as a whole. WP:NOTWEBHOST also applies.
