Help please

[edit]

I have been blocked from editing apparently because I am an AOL user. I even tried to use a secure bypass that someone suggested. Can anyone release these blocks? Here is a copy of one of the block messages. Thank you. GwenW 05:13, 1 August 2006 (UTC) -- notice, not Eleanor of Aquitaine.[reply]

Your user name or IP address has been blocked from editing. You were blocked by User:Pschemp for the following reason (see our blocking policy): Autoblocked because your IP address has been recently used by "Prnstr6996". The reason given for Prnstr6996's block is: "Your username (Eleanor_of_Aquitaine) has been blocked indefinitely because it is either inappropriate or too similar to an existing username (see our blocking policy for more information). Your IP address is 207.200.116.134.

This is not because you are an AOL user, but because you were caught in the autoblock. At the moment you are sharing the same IP as a vandal. When vandals are blocked, it blocks the underlying IP. Your misfortune in being assigned the same IP is the problem. I have unblocked the underlying IP, you should be able to edit normally. pschemp | talk 05:20, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Helping out with the Unassessed Wikipedia Biographies

[edit]

Seeing that you are an active member of the WikiBiography Project, I was wondering if you would help lend a hand in helping us clear out the amount of unassessed articles tagged with {{WPBiography}}. Many of them are of stub and start class, but a few are of B or A caliber. Getting a simple assessment rating can help us start moving many of these biographies to a higher quality article. Thank you! --Ozgod 20:47, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Muhammad Ahmad

[edit]

I don't know if you've looked into this further already, but the claims and achievements of Muhammad Ahmad have a section devoted to him here. That article was created to distinguish the subject of Mahdi from the people claiming to be the Mahdi. This is similar to there being a page for Messiah which is about the figure, and a separate article for the List of messiah claimants. I wasn't trying to thwart your concerns for including him, but he is already included in the list of other Mahdi claimants in their respective article. I believe the section you're concerned about could be cleaned up, and or deleted, but it does provide a snippet about where the first claimant appears in history, as well as a link to the claimants page. Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello GWhitewood! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot notifying you on behalf of the the unreferenced biographies team that 1 of the articles that you created is currently tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 34 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
