Maithili is the Official language of Begusarai
I just want raise a concern over a statement which I think edited by you in that statement you put Hindi as a Official language of Begusarai in "Begusarai" page which is totally a false claim in fact Begusarai falls into a Mithila region where majority of people are Maithili speakers and they also use Maithili and English for all Official work. If you ever saw mens speaking Hindi in Begusarai they are just migrants from neighbouring State like Uttar Pradesh, Delhi etc. If you still have any doubt just check these survey reports 1. "Linguistic Survey Of India" By George Abraham Grierson 2. "Population By Mother Tongue" By Census of India Kindly we request to you please revert back the Official language Maithili to the Begusarai. Thankyou. Vikas Sharma223 (talk) 19:34, 15 February 2022 (UTC)
- @Vikas Sharma223: It doesn't matter which languages are spoken in which part of the state. Standard Hindi is official in Bihar with Standard Urdu being additional official. There are many sources for that. The source provided is a government official source. The source you added is in older version of it. Unless you can provide a reliable WP:RS source that says Standard HIndi is no longer official in Mithila, and Maithili has become official, you cannot make such claims. As for Hindi, most people of the Hindi belt speak other languages like Bhojpuri, Mewati, Kumaoni, etc, but the official in those states is still Hindi. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 19:43, 15 February 2022 (UTC)
It's not your fault.Hindi always disturbs our all beautiful regional languages. Indian government forces students to study Hindi in their Main Subject instead of regional languages. And It's a fault of State maker who mixup Mithila region with making Bihar. And this time we Maithils waiting for Our Separate Mithila State with Maithili(Official language of all Maithil District.) So then, No-one able to Change Our Official language with unwanted other languages like Hindi and Urdu. Thank you so much 👍 for False Editing Hindi(the Official language of Begusarai).
Vikas Sharma223 (talk) 20:12, 15 February 2022 (UTC)
- @Vikas Sharma223:I can agree with govt forcing standard Hindi on all of the states of Hindi belt, when many of the languages natively spoken there are classified as separate languages by the linguists. And Maithili is not even considered a Hindi dialect. Thing is, the govt has declared Hindi/Urdu as official and these are supported by reliable sources. WE at Wikipedia are only allowed to reflect what the source says. It is not false editing. If in future, Mithila becomes a separate state, or Hindi/Urdu are specifically removed from official status in that particular region, then we would make necessary changes, sources provided. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 06:27, 16 February 2022 (UTC)
Begusarai
Thanks for your edit at Begusarai the IPs and that editor are trying to mislead people by replacing information from, and reference to, the 52nd report, with a reference to the earlier 47th report which states "The State Government did not furnish the required information for the period." NOT what has been claimed in their edit. - Thanks again - Arjayay (talk) 19:28, 15 February 2022 (UTC)
- @Arjayay: You are most welcome . - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 06:29, 16 February 2022 (UTC)
Maintenance tag review request
Greetings @ Fylindfotberserk
I have tried to improve a draft content for Draft:Ex-Muslim activism in Kerala as per feed back received on the article talk page and Maintenance tags.
I am looking for some help in review of the maintenance tag and feed back if any plus little copy edit help if needed.
Your user ID selected from recent changes and you seem to be helping out some articles in clean up and copy edited.
Thanks and warm regards

- @Bookku: Thanks for asking. I'll try to help whenever I get the time. Seems well sourced, but would require c/e to make it look more neutral. Copyvios can be taken care of , if any, through rewording of passages. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 12:36, 17 February 2022 (UTC)

Indic script
Hey, this is reply to a message you sent me on my talk page with the same title (i.e. Indic scripts). I recently added names in native indic scripts on few articles where these were not present. I think these were not against the policy of using non-indic scripts on India related articles. Because I have observed there are some exceptions to this policy which includes religion/dharma and ancient texts/people/places/culture related articles. If you think I did wrong, let me know specifically.
Also, I personally think this policy is very rigid as well as old. These days when people are not able to write in their native scripts correctly, it would be beneficial for them if wikipedia contained it. Controversies could be avoided by adding multiple scripts. Thanks for reading — Preceding unsigned comment added by ऐक्टिवेटेड् (talk • contribs) 19:02, 23 February 2022 (UTC)
- @ऐक्टिवेटेड्: Actually controversies started when multiple scripts were added, with people demanding some to be removed (claiming non-nativity) and/or rearranged (based on priorities), that's when the consensus for a blanket ban was reached. You can add scripts in other sections without any problem
religion/dharma and ancient texts/people/places/culture
- Only the language articles; religious things (temples, gurdwaras, mosques) are exempt, not ancient people, culture or places. Note that this does not apply to Paksiatn, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri lNka, Nepal, etc . - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 19:32, 23 February 2022 (UTC)
- @Fylindfotberserk: Does this policy also applies to Etymology and other sections or just lead section and infoboxes? ऐक्टिवेटेड् (talk)
- @ऐक्टिवेटेड्: Just lead sections and infoboxes. Fine in etymology and other sections. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 15:31, 24 February 2022 (UTC)
Edit on Eden Gardens
There Many stadium in India which has Indic scripts then why are you reverting my change in Eden Gardens ? Ari Bandho (talk) 19:12, 25 February 2022 (UTC)
- @Ari Bandho: I said if there are any then remove them. I saw you removed Hindi script from some Himachal Pradesh stadiums. That's fine. I've reverted your edit because you added Bengali script in Eden Gardens article, which contravened WP:NOINDICSCRIPT policy. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 19:14, 25 February 2022 (UTC)
Why don't you remove them? Policy should be applicable in every stadium in India Ari Bandho (talk) 19:16, 25 February 2022 (UTC)
- Which one? Link me. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 19:17, 25 February 2022 (UTC)
