Apr 25, 2013 - Bono revealed the working title of the new album is "10 Reasons to Exist" The band have been recording in Dublin, New York and the South of France over the last few months. [2]
No Line on the Horizon was released on 27 February 2009.
It marked the longest gap between studio albums of U2's career.
The band originally intended to release the songs as two EPs, but later combined the material into a single record.
The supporting U2 360° Tour, spanning 2009 to 2011, was the highest-grossing concert tour in history, with ticket sales over $736 million.
The singles for this album were "Get on Your Boots", "Magnificent", "I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go :Crazy Tonight"
The Album's Cover
The cover art for No Line on the Horizon is a photograph of Lake Constance, taken by Japanese photographer Hiroshi Sugimoto; titled Boden Sea, it is one of 200 pictures in his Seascapes collection.
Thank you so much for signing my Guestbook. I've heard about Mike Hutchence and it was so sad what happened to him. He had a great and special voice. Have you listened to "Slide Away"?? I love that song. I think U2 haven't lost all their spirituality, it is just that Bono has been focusing in another matters.
I didn't wake up the WP U2 by muyself, a lot of people helped me to do it. Sometimes (when things happens here) I think about giving up, but then I listen comments like yours and it gives me strenght to carry on.... so thank you so much for your kind words. :)
About the videos, I have not money to buy U2 Live at Red Rocks: Under a Blood Red Sky and watch it but I've listened the album and I like it very much (specially Sunday Bloody Sunday). My favourite concert is U2:Go Home Live From Slane Castle. There was a dark side on Bono that I rarely get see in another concerts, I love his performance of Kite and his tears :'( There are a lot of things that I admire about him no matter all his faults. The Goose
This is the only thing on Paul's nickname there is in U2 by U2:
Bono: The Prunes came up with a name for Paul. He was The Goose.
There is also this above (I don't if his attitude (Paul's) has to be with the nickname ):
Edge: Paul would point out that we were literally paying these people to piss off our audience. Our loyalties to the prunes were such that we were happy to give them the oppotunity to play. We really liked what they were doing, although I don't know we realized just how great they were. At that time, you couldn't see anything like it in London or New York, let alone Dublin. Looking back they were really cutting-edge and extraordinary.
There are a few things on Paul mcGuiness (a lot). if you can point out the sections that needs more work I can search for information and add it or write them here. Miss Bono (zootalk)16:45, 18 June 2013 (UTC)
Thanks. I have added Bono's quote to the article and I think that is all the clarity that can be given for that! I will take another look and see what we might could use. Way cool :) Fylbecatuloustalk16:56, 18 June 2013 (UTC)
I am curious if you know the difference between these two books 1. Bono on Bono: Conversations with Michka Assayas and 2. Bono: In conversation with Michka Assayas? Are they the same book? New titles and cover images? I am really confused about this. I have started a draft of Michka Assayas and if you are interested or could help me please feel free to edit, comment, constructively criticize, or otherwise I would greatly appreciate it. This is my very first attempt at an article and there is an already existing french article of the same. Also there appears to be two spellings of the Michka's name 1. Mishka and 2. Michka do you know anything of that? Thanks so much in advance. TattØØdẄaitre§ lĖTŝ tÅLĶ20:06, 12 July 2013 (UTC)

Bono on Bono
Hello friend,
I was wondering if you can make a brief resum on each chapter and post them in the article? Don't know if it's the best thing, but will give to the reader a better understandment of the book. What do you think?Miss Bono [zootalk]☆15:15, 15 July 2013 (UTC)
Hi, I am not too keen on filling in the chapters. According to WikiProject Books they frown on this. It is better to write out in summary form whatever needs to be said about what is in the chapters. For example: Bono discusses what a difficult time they had with Adam during his drink and drugs binges in Australia during filming of Zoo TV Live. Bono also talks in open detail of how Ali found Bono to be angrier than usual after his father's death and suggested he needed therapy. Not within each chapter heading, but as a synopsis. If you click on the "Biographies about musicians" category the article is in, you can see some really good articles that do not use a chapter list. In fact earlier in the history of this article on Bono on Bono the chapters list was deleted because "Wikipedia is not a directory". Sorry for such a long way to say it, but if we don't know if it's the best thing to fill in the chapters with text, I say let's not.
Thanks. I wasn't sure about what I asked, but I had to give it a try. With those things you have said... now I am sure I want a copy of Bono on Bono. my aunt couldn't send it :'( Miss Bono [zootalk]☆20:22, 15 July 2013 (UTC)
Yes, again; this is absolutely the best book. I read it again this morning really early and it just lit up my day. Bono really revealed himself as quite human and complex in these interviews. Stuff you'd never learn elsewhere...I wish you could get a copy. Fylbecatuloustalk20:31, 15 July 2013 (UTC)
It is currently available on the Amazon website in the US in various formats:
Kindle Edition -- $11.04 --
Hardcover -- $18.92 (new) $2.88 (used)
Paperback, Import -- $9.53 (new) $0.01 (used)
I don't know where your aunt lives but I suppose Amazon ships pretty much anywhere and I know there is also an Amazon site for England. Fylbecatuloustalk12:17, 16 July 2013 (UTC)
Muchas gracias! My aunt lives in the USA. I am going to save money... already have 12 bucks :). It's pretty cheap, I thought it'd cost 50 bucks or something. Miss Bono [zootalk]☆12:42, 16 July 2013 (UTC)
I love Golden Retrievers and as for the bad day... no problem, that kind of things happen sometimes. I had an awful night, but now I am ok. Thanks for the puppy. I hope our friendship remains :)Miss Bono [zootalk]☆12:01, 17 July 2013 (UTC)
I am sorry for your awful night. I promise never to stress you again beause I know what it feels like. No matter what I will not cause you to have to worry. If you will accept me with my flaws, yes we are friends and I would like that. Wishing you a peaceful, blissful day ツ Fylbecatuloustalk13:10, 17 July 2013 (UTC)
I saw the whisperback this morning, I was on holidays... Thanks for your attempts in editing the article and thanks for thinking that all my articles are good (I don't know why you say that because amost alll of them are stubs), but thanks I do my best. Also I wanted to thank you for helping to the WP:U2. I will continue asking you for help... Best to you... Miss Bono [zootalk]15:33, 29 July 2013 (UTC)
And... as I promised above... I am going to ask you for help again lol. Can you find something on this song Seconds (song), I saw it in a link above in your talk page and as I like it very much I would like to expand it. BTW, some friend of mine who is going to travel very soon is going to buy Bono on Bono for me, I have to save the money now. 20 buck :) Miss Bono [zootalk]15:41, 29 July 2013 (UTC)
Hooray for getting the book! Yes, I will see what I can do to get Seconds out of the 'stub' category, at least. I really like it because I first saw it in the U2 Live at Red Rocks: Under a Blood Red Sky video (which I still watch). I had no idea what meaning Bono had for it though, until I read our Wikipedia article. The things one can learn on our beloved Wikipedia - lol ツ Hope you had an awesome vacation. Fylbecatuloustalk16:02, 29 July 2013 (UTC)
Pretty cool, thanks for asking. I went to a night club called The Yellow Submarine, on Saturday. Cool music and a live band performed. We were just in fornt of them. They played a lot of awesome songs, the best of them: House of The Rising Song. The premises are quite large and welcoming. Plenty of references to The Beatles on the walls... :) Cool! The lead guitarist lent me the guitar to take a picture with it. It was a BC Rich. I also went to the John Lennon's park and took a picture with him ;)
I don't have that video (I wish I had it, tough, and I have the live album, but doesn't conatin Seconds). See this, that's my entire digital collection, I only have one album in original CD, The box set of No Line On The Horizon :). Also, I have U2 360º Live at The Rose Bowl, Live From Chicago and Go Home, Live From Slane Castle. I have a few videos The Best oF 1990-2000 Videos, and 16 more videos... Still working to get more of those :P. I will look for more about Seconds in U2 by U2. I remember having read some about it form Edge :) Miss Bono [zootalk]16:12, 29 July 2013 (UTC)
Aha! that's a good idea. I have pulled out my books to see if there's anything about "Seconds". There just might be, in Unforgettable Fire by Eamon Dunphy, since it has a chapter on War. Fylbecatuloustalk16:23, 29 July 2013 (UTC)
I only found this:
Bono: It was very lonely writing lyrics. I was always encouraging Edge to write, but he wasn't very interested. But he wrote some of Seconds, he might even have come up with the line It takes a second to say goodbye. "Seconds" is particularly pertinent today because it's about the idea that at some point someone, somewhere, would get their hands on nuclear material and build a suitcase bomb in an apartment in western capital. It was twenty years early but I wouldn't call it prophetic, I'd just call it obvious.
Edge: I sing the first verse, probably because I wrote the lyric for that section. I actually imagined Bono would always sing it. But he said, 'You sing it, I'll do another verse.' So he wrote the second verse and sang it.
You know what? When I read this note, I decided to see if I could just borrow this book at my library. Sure enough, it said online there were two copies sitting on the shelves at my local branch. So I just walked over to get one. I had no idea it was so heavy! A tenth of my weight, I'm sure. Anyway, I can keep it for four weeks, so I will read all about Michael and see what's up for his article. I will enjoy it all. I surely won't be taking it to bed to read, though. Fylbecatuloustalk23:09, 29 July 2013 (UTC)
My copy isn't that heavy, maybe just because it's a 2008 edition, preety small. Bono talks several times about Mike. There is a funny story about when they spent some time in France. You should read it. It is in the chapter 1994–98: Some Days Are Better than Others (I think). Miss Bono [zootalk]12:13, 30 July 2013 (UTC)
Now I should like to have a copy; thank goodness it can come in a smaller size. Actually, this is a really good book filled with a lot of informational text. It quite deserves to have the article you are working on. It is not just a picture book. Fylbecatuloustalk12:49, 30 July 2013 (UTC)
Nope, it isn't. I really enjoy reading it. If you still have the book and you want to know how do I look like, find a picture of Bono and Ali Hewson that says: Bono and Ali in Ajibar, Ethiopia, 1986. My friends say I look like her in that picture (of course, without make up on)Miss Bono [zootalk]12:56, 30 July 2013 (UTC)
Never, my friend, never. We are chatting and we are still on the subject at hand ツ
About "Seconds": By the way, I have added some content to "Seconds" and removed the 'stub' tag. It will probably stay at 'start' class: there will probaby never be that much more to add. Today I am digging around to see if I can add anything about "reception" or "composition". Fylbecatuloustalk13:17, 30 July 2013 (UTC)
That's great, I thanked for your edits this morning (my time). You should check the reception and compotsition out in u2.com. I bet there has to be something. Did you see the picture? Btw, I added a few links in my user page of articles I'd like to take into GA. You should see that and tell me what you think :) Miss Bono [zootalk]13:24, 30 July 2013 (UTC)
I just looked at the picture in the book. Ali and Bono are beautiful people and seems so peaceful. She does have a Spanish descent appearance. I think Bono says that somewhere when he first met her. That he found that attractive. And therefore, you are quite attractive too. Fylbecatuloustalk14:36, 30 July 2013 (UTC)
I added a reception section to "Seconds". Although I am still going to look for something on the composition (key, chords, whatever) I am going to declare this section completed. Then I can concentrate on what is next down page to consider. ツ Oh, and the potential GA candidates you have listed. Fylbecatuloustalk14:36, 30 July 2013 (UTC)
Wao! Thanks for the compliment. Should I think that Bono thinks I am a attractive. Mmmm interesting ;P... hahaha anyways thank you. My boyfriend says I have Spanish eyes :).
Regarding Seconds. I am going to look at it right now. I bet there is something wonderful.
Hey, Fylb... the article is much better now. We all make a good team. We should start by fixing and improving all those song articles that are poor. What do you say?
Yes, I agree about trying to improve the song articles. Some are purely neglected. We do make a good team. And yes, I've been reading a lot of the book. All the parts about Michael, "Hutch" as he was called. He had been talking about the suicide of Kurt Cobain (another really troubled rock star I just loved). Pretty sad. By the way, I like the nickname you have given me, Fylb; you can call me that anyday ツ Fylbecatuloustalk11:35, 2 August 2013 (UTC)
Good, I will callyou that way Fylb... Yes, both death were devastating. Saw the part were Bono tells that Ali had been phoned Hutch a few days before his death? Miss Bono [zootalk]12:06, 2 August 2013 (UTC)
Yup, she seems a nice person. I need some help. I am trying to organize all te achievements we have had in the pravious month in the WP, we havea TFA scheduled for Aug 9. I want to request another interview for the project. What do you think? Want to help? It is messy and I don't think I can do it all by myself. Miss Bono [zootalk]12:53, 2 August 2013 (UTC)
OK, yes. I will try to help. This evening and this weekend, I will be free. I need one of those on and offline templates. Because I'll be off until late afternoon or evening. ツ I have no idea what we need to do, but since you've been involved before, just let me know an action to take. We will start a new section your page or mine. I am still remembering about the GA list you have and the portal review. I will look at those this weekend too. Your friend, Fylb. Fylbecatuloustalk13:06, 2 August 2013 (UTC)
Let's keep the discussion here here. I will post something right away! :) Cheers! Miss Bono [zootalk] 13:08, 2 August 2013
Fylb, I need you to check for info on Ali in Bono on Bono as soon as you can, please reply. I will be working to take it into FA.
Info mostly in this sections: Marriage and family, Early life and Awards and honours.
Can you? You may post the information here User:Miss_Bono/Ali_for_FA
Thanks!
Miss Bono [zootalk]15:21, 2 August 2013 (UTC)
Good morning. Sorry for a late answer. I took a look at Bono. I will try to help. It seems the book in question has already been used quite a bit. I will see what else can be gleaned and I still have the book by Eamon Dunphy. It leaves off about the time after Joshua Tree, though. It might be helpful for some early history. By the way, what were you hoping to find about Ali? Is it for all those hidden citations in the article? I ask, but I won't really be free much this week (through Friday) due to real life. But I have not forgotten. All the best, my friend. ツ Fylbecatuloustalk11:13, 6 August 2013 (UTC)
Take your time, there's no rush. I want to take Bono to GA and Ali to FA, the two of 'em are potential articles... about Ali, yes, it is about the hidden citations... and because the sections I pointed out somewhere up there... have a lack of information. Have a beautiful day! :) Miss Bono [zootalk]12:17, 6 August 2013 (UTC)
Two of my favourites. But again, two tragic rock stars. This is why it is really good for my well-being to work on U2 articles. Each member of the band seems well-balanced and mentally healthy. (Even Adam!) I can never thank you enough for inviting me to this project. I really, really mean this. You have been angel sent my way. Speaking of health, I am thinking about you: whatever is happening, you are in my thoughs. Fylbecatuloustalk14:52, 9 August 2013 (UTC)
Yeah, I like the videos too, and INXS and Nirvana. Kurt died the same day my best male friend was born 5 april 1994, seven days later I was born, that is a bit sad.
As for U2, the band keeps me calm. There is a rage inside of me that sometimes it just settles down with U2 music. They are a good therapy for me. I have a song for each mood. Today I woke up with Stuck In A Moment... in my head, because the sound of my alarm is the solo of All Because Of You, so, literally I woke up with 2 songs.
As for the project, there is no problem, you are a great member and I am glad I have invited you. (Tough the Project isn't mine, I am wondering where the idea of pinging all the members came from, and why I thought that I'd be able to restore a project that was semi-inactive)? I guess I have to thank you and everyone who helped me in this battle. I will never be able to see my favourite band play live, I won't have their new album until 2014, I won't even have a Bono autograph ever, and there are so many things I will never be able to do that the least thing I can do is... help U2 this way.
Again, thank you! :)
Good bless you.
PS: Do you like "Slide Away", the song by B and Hutch?
Yes, I do like "Slide Away ツ ...and my name is pronounced: fill - be - cat - you - lus. Accent on 'cat'. and say 'lus' like in fabulous. Run it together really fast and you have it. However, instead of meaning I am a crazy cat fancier, it actually refers to a small scene in a movie about time-travel: Primer. The two main characters were actually briefly looking for a lost family pet cat named Filby. My userbox on my page that says "this user hasn't eaten since later this afternoon" is a quote from the movie. I am totally fascinated by this movie. I have watched it about 90 times.
and PS: My crazy week has just about ended, so I am going to try to work on some U2 Project tasks this weekend. I think what I will do is take my early U2 book "Unforgettable Fire" and see if I can give you different sources for those that need changing in Ali Hewson's article. I notice the book is not listed in the 'bibliography' section, so I am hopeful. Fylbecatuloustalk19:44, 9 August 2013 (UTC)
Sorry the misuderstanding in my talk, Fylb, but I didn't understand your first comment (maybe is my poor knowdlege of English). Would you mind explaining it to me? Sorry again. Miss Bono [zootalk]12:43, 15 August 2013 (UTC)
I few months ago I started working on Grace (U2 song) (One of my favourite songs in ATYCLB), but I added everything there was in U2 by U2. I was wondering if you could find something on your books or on-line sites. What do you say? Miss Bono [zootalk]15:16, 15 August 2013 (UTC)
OK, I just pulled out my book: Walk On, The Spiritual Journey of U2 and it has a chapter on ATYCLB titled "Grace", so this seems promising. I have the article bookmarked and will see what I can find. I see the article itself does not yet use this book as a reference. I will do my best. Thank you for assigning me songs. That is probably what I do best: albums and songs. They live in my heart, so I know them well. After you asked me, I helped Seconds grow into a little flower. ツ Fylbecatuloustalk15:35, 15 August 2013 (UTC)
Songs live in my heart and soul too... I wear them like a crown, but I don't have the resources to make full productive additions. Just what I have is what I can use... U2 by U2. Do you know who Arthur Fogel is? And yes, Seconds is a bloom now thanks to you. I have a lot of songs that needs work. Should I point this to you? I like working on songs too, so, I could find what I have in U2 by U2 and add it while you search in your lots of U2 related books. I will soon have a copy of Bono on Bono. Yay! Miss Bono [zootalk]15:47, 15 August 2013 (UTC)
Good choices: Unforgettable Fire and October will always be my favourites. Recently, a rather new editor turned all the album reviews in Boy and October into prose in their "Reception" sections. That takes a lot of time. You have to look each link up and describe what the critic said. It's in the history. I sort of wondered if she/he would like an invitation to WP:U2? Fylbecatuloustalk16:07, 15 August 2013 (UTC)
Don't worry Fylb. It surely is because there was a black out in the block of the school and the servers turned off :)... It happens all the time :I.... You can post your message on my talk page if you want... or here. :) Miss Bono [zootalk]12:23, 19 August 2013 (UTC)
The email I sent to you was a question or something? I think I am remembering now but not completely. Look, never mind, I'm sure I will remember sooner or later :) Miss Bono [zootalk]12:00, 20 August 2013 (UTC)
You are Back! :)
I've spent most of the day fixing Elevation and Walk On. Can you please make some copyediting or fixing anything I left in the wrong place... or better, adding some info to the article or finding references for some CN template I left... Thanks! :)Miss Bono [zootalk]20:13, 21 August 2013 (UTC)
No, actually. This was a pounce, as 'in waiting to pounce'. It took between three and twenty minutes for you to see me make an edit and deliver me this to-do list. I feel like I am punching in to work! Sorry. Fylbecatuloustalk17:10, 26 August 2013 (UTC)
