er
I just went to edit an entry and it says I've been blocked? Please unblock me, I do not use Wikepedia for spammy content. I've had this account for over a decade and have made legitimate contributions.

[edit]Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. [1][2][3] MrOllie (talk) 14:45, 5 July 2021 (UTC)
I have only made legitimate contributions on the topics of racial inequality and used the reliable source from which I have attained most of my learnings. The studies conducted by Center for Talent Innovation which was rebranded as Coqual. They are a leader in the space, highly referenced, and I'm confused as to why I cannot contribute to the conversation on Wikipedia as I learn about these topics. I think this is important information for people to know and I enjoy contributing as I learn. Am I to contribute and cite studies without including a link? — Preceding unsigned comment added by FreightTrain90 (talk • contribs)
- Wikipedia doesn't use self published materials as sources, see WP:SELFPUB. They might be a 'leader in the space' but they are also an advocacy group / paid consultancy. If you want to make such additions you should stick to peer reviewed sources and reputable independently published journals. - MrOllie (talk) 15:01, 5 July 2021 (UTC)

[edit]Please stop. If you continue to add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did at Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard, you may be blocked from editing. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. — BillHPike (talk, contribs) 00:09, 11 November 2023 (UTC)
