Articles for deletion nomination of Pambokancha
I have nominated Pambokancha, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Pambokancha. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

You marked the above DAB page for cleanup, which I did do this week, but the changes were reverted by an editor, who told me why at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:GeorgeLouis#disambig_St._Paul.27s_Church. I certainly disagree with his reasoning (what I could understand of it) and wonder if you could join the conversation to let us know why you marked it in the first place. Sincerely, your friend, GeorgeLouis (talk) 17:43, 22 August 2010 (UTC)

Your ad hominem
Hi. Your ad hominem comments here, especially you had the nerve, are not likely to persuade others. Also, such comments might be considered uncivil. Commenting on other contributors in general is discouraged per Wikipedia:Civility and Wikipedia:No personal remarks and Wikipedia:No personal attacks. Please consider refactoring your comments to address the proposal and not the editor making the proposal. 69.3.72.249 (talk) 16:38, 5 October 2010 (UTC)
- I'm sorry if they came across as uncivil. I did not intend for them to come across as such, and for that I apologize. I have now amended and struck out the personal comments I unjustly made towards you. I will say though that the whole issue got my back up. From where I stand I have a hard time seeing evidence of you listening to what everyone else is saying. There has been no consenus to move the page either in the previously proposed move or this one, and there wasn't consenus to change the page from a redirect into an article, which I feel is something that warrented further discussion. I understand you have an opinon and I accept that. Unfortunately for you Wikipedia works by consensus and I'm afraid that consensus isn't in your favour this time. At this stage, it might just be best to leave things alone for the moment. That is most certainly what I intend to do. -France3470 (talk) 17:47, 5 October 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you for refactoring your comment on Talk:Bladder (disambiguation). I think it is fortunate for everyone, myself included, that Wikipedia works by consensus. Re your concern with Bladder, the relevant process would appear to be Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. 69.3.72.249 (talk) 19:12, 5 October 2010 (UTC)

Just FYI, you may want to note: [1], [2], and especially [3]. Don't know if you see the same pattern I do, but then, too am in the same boat you are. (Smile). I'm not saying anything, I'm just saying... Hmmmm. Montanabw(talk) 23:16, 5 October 2010 (UTC)
- Well, the above message has resulted in this: Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents, against me. You certainly are an innocent party here, I don't even know you, but it appears anon 69.3 had taken umbrage. Feel free to do as you see fit. (Which may include ignoring me, LOL!) Montanabw(talk) 01:55, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
- I'm sorry to see that this has resulted in an ANI against you. I've offered a comment on user 69.3, from the little experience I have had working with this user. I hope this is able to be resolved without too much drama. Just know that I support your actions. -France3470 (talk) 08:30, 6 October 2010 (UTC)

London Wikimedia Fundraiser
Good evening! This is a friendly message from Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry, inviting you to the London Wikimedia Fundraising party on 19th December 2010, in approximately one week. This party is being held at an artistic London venue with room for approximately 300 people, and is being funded by Ed Saperia, a non-Wikipedian who has a reputation for holding exclusive events all over London. This year, he wants to help Wikipedia, and is subsidising a charity event for us. We're keen to get as many Wikimedians coming as possible, and we already have approximately 200 guests, including members of the press, and some mystery guests! More details can be found at http://ten.wikipedia.org/wiki/London - expect an Eigenharp, a mulled wine hot tub, a free hog roast, a haybale amphitheatre and more. If you're interested in coming - and we'd love to have you - please go to the ten.wikipedia page and follow the link to the Facebook event. Signing up on Facebook will add you to the party guestlist. Entry fee is a heavily subsidised £5 and entry is restricted to over 18s. It promises to be a 10th birthday party to remember! If you have any questions, please email me at chasemewiki at gmail.com.
Hope we'll see you there, (and apologies for the talk page spam) - Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry (talk) 22:52, 12 December 2010 (UTC)

All Hail The Muffin Nor does it taste nice... 18:03, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
I spotted the article by having a redlink of her name on my userpage, for articles i have requested, and still wanted to write someday. It was entirely correct to flag it as such, as it got attention, and of course it would have been easy to recreate if deleted. I agree, unsourced material on living people is serious, for legal as well as ethical and intellectual reasons. If we just play by the rules, we can have a great time here. i think of us as volunteer workers on the Notre Dame cathedral. somewhat anonymous, working to create something much greater than us, whose full realization is not necessarily for us to see. If we lay the foundation right, future workers will not build wrong.Mercurywoodrose (talk) 20:03, 20 March 2011 (UTC)

Deleting old AFC pages
Hiya. Unless I'm misunderstanding something special about these in particular, please don't tag AFC submissions you've accepted for deletion (e.g. 1, 2, 3). Keeping them live helps the author keep track of their submission's status – say they bookmark the page or something, and periodically check to see if anything has happened. If you leave the redirect, it will be clear that the article was accepted, but if they come to the deleted page screen, it is slightly less obvious. Also, redirects are cheap and having them visible from Special:PrefixIndex/Wikipedia:Articles for creation can be useful when tracking submissions or generating statistics. Either way, thanks for your work at the project! Cheers — The Earwig (talk) 00:07, 16 May 2011 (UTC)
- Sorry about that, it makes perfect sense to keep them. I will know for future. For some strange reason I feel like I tagged them with the understanding that deleting the redirect was part of the guidelines. However after re-reading the instructions page again I think I may have just been imagining things. I suppose I was mistakenly thinking of them like normal house keeping moves. Thanks for the help, France3470 (talk) 02:31, 16 May 2011 (UTC)
AFC unreferenced
Hey, OK, so I added something to the code to skip disambig AFC's, which I think will be clear enough to ask you about;
if ( lowercasetext.Contains("{disamb") || lowercasetext.Contains("{{dab") || lowercasetext.Contains("{{dbig") || i.title.ToLower().Contains("disambig"))
- ...then...if any of those conditions are matched, it skips them.
...I think that'd cover most/all DAB AFC cases? Do you think?
I'm very happy to make any other tweaks, and would like to improve it before asking for it to be automated; just let me know. Cheers, Chzz ► 00:55, 16 May 2011 (UTC)
- Looks great! Thanks for making those changes. I can't think of any other pressing improvements, although I have noticed that the talkpage message occasionally causes formatting issues for me. The video seems to drop down to overlap awkwardly with the next section. In one instance, diff, I 'fixed' it by moving the video further up and right aligning. However, I don't notice this in every case, which I suspect means it might a result of my screen settings and/or browser. (I often flip-flop between internet explorer and firefox on different computers).
- However on the whole it is a really useful bit of work. Even as a reviewer I find it helpful, as it makes me aware of what feedback the creator has already recieved so I can tweak my reviews appropriately. Looking forward to seeing it automated, France3470 (talk) 02:17, 16 May 2011 (UTC)
- Great; my basic plan is, to get something workable and not-too-dangerous up and running, probably within the week; refinements to follow. Thanks for your help; I really do think it's progress.
- Re. the layout of the message, the formatting; I know a couple of users who are good at doing that stuff; and they're working on making a better template; that will happen v soon too. Chzz ► 02:56, 16 May 2011 (UTC)

Non-english sources. Can they be reliable enough for the article to not be deleted?
Hello. Thank you for encouraging me to finish the Yozef Ormeny article and for the great 'Getting started' message. I've added two Ukrainian sources to the article, however wasn't able to find any equal (or just suitable) ones in English. Is such an article still up to deletion? If not, should I remove the up-for-deletion tag? Thanks. Yury Bulka (talk) 08:00, 29 May 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for the message, I know that article writing isn't easy and I'm glad to hear you're finding your way through the process. Now that you have added sources to the Yozef Ormeny article is within your right to remove the prod tag. I have gone ahead and removed it for you. In case you haven't already I it might be helpful to read over WP:NOENG, which talks about the use of non-English sources as references. I also think perhaps one English citation, even if one lesser value could be added as an addition to help prove WP:NOTE. It is hard for those who don't speak the language to evaluate the reliability of the source. Are there perhaps any books that mention him? I realize that the article is only a stub at the moment but have a look thorough Wikipedia:Notability (people), specifically WP:ANYBIO and WP:MUSICBIO to make sure the subject fits the criteria. France3470 (talk) 13:35, 29 May 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you much! I'll try to do my best. Yury Bulka (talk) 18:49, 30 May 2011 (UTC)

It's a pleasure. I love translating. --Bermicourt (talk) 21:04, 4 June 2011 (UTC)
Hello. I just placed an G6 tag on Beatitude (disambiguation), this is because it is only disambiguating two items and one of these is the primary topic. I have corrected the hatnote at 'Beatitudes' where the term 'Beatitude' redirects to, which should take care of the album having the same name. France3470 (talk) 16:52, 9 June 2011 (UTC)
- No big deal, but I think the album is piggybacking on a major page and that encourages more of teh same. I am generally fed up with CD/albums of really obscure artists using Wikipedia like Craigslist. So if possible I would relegate the album to siberia or somewhere not give it 30k hits a month and encourage that type of free-ride placement. I will leave it up to you. History2007 (talk) 17:06, 9 June 2011 (UTC)
- Although I can see your reasons and your frustrations, I'm afraid banishing a link to at title at '(disambiguation)' is hardly a vaild reason for creating a dab page which goes against its entire purpose. The reality is that some people will inevitably be searching for the album, not Beatitudes, and since there are no other possible valid items to disambiguate, there is no reason to make navigation unecessarily more challenging. France3470 (talk) 17:26, 9 June 2011 (UTC)
AfD close
Yes, it was an IAR close. The result inevitably would have been delete, and there seemed to be no sense in letting a POV fork stay up for a week. Neutralitytalk 04:35, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
- Sounds good. Thanks France3470 (talk) 10:24, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
Mike Morton - disambiguation
Thanks for your comments on Mike Morton, which I found helpful - I am happy with the way it has been amended. I am quite new to Wikipedia and while I have learned to perform basic editing taks, I do find the subject of disambiguation quite impenetrable - but I shall soldier on! Shaibalahmar (talk) 16:49, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
- I am glad they were helpful and that the hat note does the trick. I wouldn't give up entirely on disambiguation, it takes a bit of getting used to but can be a rather enjoyable way to spend a few wikihours. There are lots of dabbing tasks that can be done, which help build up a general understanding of most of the key ideas behind disambiguation. If you feel so inclined, you might want to have a look at Wikipedia:WikiProject Disambiguation, which lists a number of suggestions for various ways to get involved. Thanks for the message! You edited this in May 2011 with edit summary (Cleanup per WP:MOSDAB using Dabfix) but didn't remove the "cleanup" from the dab template at the end of the article. Was that deliberate because you thought more work was needed, or just an oversight? It was still appearing in Category:Disambiguation_pages_in_need_of_cleanup_from_May_2011, but I've now removed the "cleanup" as it looks OK to me. PamD (talk) 09:42, 18 July 2011 (UTC)

Hi France3470!
I have put together a survey for female editors of Wikipedia (and related projects) in order to explore, in greater detail, women's experiences and roles within the Wikimedia movement. It'd be wonderful if you could participate!
It's an independent survey, done by me, as a fellow volunteer Wikimedian. It is not being done on behalf of the Wikimedia Foundation. I hope you'll participate!
Just click this link to participate in this survey, via Google!
Any questions or concerns, feel free to email me or stop by my user talk page. Also, feel free to share this any other female Wikimedians you may know. It is in English, but any language Wikimedia participants are encouraged to participate. I appreciate your contributions - to the survey and to Wikipedia! Thank you! Speedy deletion nomination of BROJESH BAIDYA
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on BROJESH BAIDYA requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. XenocideTalk|Contributions 17:06, 14 October 2011 (UTC)
- I am not the original creator of this page, I simply moved it. On a different note, I would have waited until Brojesh Baidya gets deleted, then tag the redirect for G8. France3470 (talk) 17:11, 14 October 2011 (UTC)
- That would probably have been better, but in any case it needs to be removed. XenocideTalk|Contributions 17:13, 14 October 2011 (UTC)
- Agreed. I see now that you notified the original author, which was more my concern. Thanks. France3470 (talk) 17:17, 14 October 2011 (UTC)

Welcoming you to the participants list on AfC!
Hi, and welcome to WikiProject Articles for creation! We are a group of editors who work together on the Articles for creation and Images for upload pages.
A few tips that you might find helpful:
- Please take time to fully read the reviewers' instructions before reviewing submissions.
- The project's discussion board is the best place to ask for help or advice. You might like to watchlist this page, and you are encouraged to take part in any discussion that comes up.
- Article submissions that need reviewing can be found in Category:Pending AfC submissions and there is also a useful list which is maintained by a bot.
- You might wish to add {{AFC status}} to your userpage, which will alert you to the number of open submissions. There is also a project userbox. If you haven't done so already, please consider adding your name to the list of participants.
- Several of our members monitor the #wikipedia-en-help connect IRC channel, and you are welcome to join in to ask Wikipedia-related questions.
- The IRC channel #wikipedia-en-afc connect is used occasionally for internal discussion regarding the Articles for Creation process, and also serves as a recent changes feed, displaying all edits made in the Articles for Creation namespace.
Once again, welcome to the project. Mediation4u (talk) 12:13, 18 October 2011 (UTC)

- I wouldn't exactly consider myself new to AFC; I've been around since May, although I did take a long break off over the summer. But nevermind, thanks for the welcome, hope to see you around. France3470 (talk) 12:17, 18 October 2011 (UTC)
- Ah, my mistake. I find the box handy for shortcut navigation links - productivity is key in precious spare time :-) Look fwd to seeing you around. Mediation4u (talk) 12:23, 18 October 2011 (UTC) editing is fun
