Recent edits to Grant Hochstein

I noticed you have been recently editing the Wikipedia page on Grant Hochstein. Some of your table edits have been factually incorrect (e.g., reverting his 2017 Rostelecom Cup placement to "TBD" after I already updated it) and distorting the "Competitive highlights" section (e.g., putting incorrect column sizes for his junior career). I am not sure why you are doing this, but if you need help or can clarify why you are doing this, please leave a comment here before editing again. I do not want to have to continually revert your edits.

Additionally, I believe you have been trying to add a "Detailed results" section for the page, but you have been using a table from another source (likely from a Russian figure skater, as some of the entries indicate Russian nationals instead of U.S. nationals). It is fine to go to other pages and refer to them for templates, but please do not drag-and-drop all the irrelevant information and edit each entry one-by-one. If you want to add a "Detailed results" section, please do so after experimenting on your userpage's sandbox. You can save and make edits on your sandbox until all the information is correct and applicable to a given skater. Personally, I have not been keen on making a "Detailed results" section for Grant Hochstein as he has not won any major international medals.

Again, I noticed you've been editing the page on Grant Hochstein and have made some incorrect edits, again, on the "Competitive highlights" section. I'm not sure why you are altering the junior results table, nor do I know why you have changed his Rostelecom Cup result back to "TBD" even though the event has already passed. I will be reverting your edits soon, but in the future: 1. Avoid incorrect edits; 2. Try to avoid successive edits (i.e., editing multiple times in a row), as it makes fixing things easier should they go awry; 3. Leave an edit summary with everything, even if it's a minor thing; 4. Make tables consistent in their date format, since it appears your "Detailed results" have just been pulled from random skater pages without editing for consistency.

Don't be afraid to leave a comment if you need help. But again, I do not want to have to continually revert your edits.

Additionally, only one line break before/after new sections. Multiple line breaks make noticeable gaps that should not exist on pages. If you check the revision history of pages you have been editing, you can see the issues I have rectified from your edits (and again, please leave an edit summary for most everything you do).

Can you please at least comment here to acknowledge that you are aware of certain editing practices/tips? I know you are trying to help, but it is not helpful for others to have to monitor your edits after making the same repeated mistakes.

Notes on editing figure skating articles

I wanted to leave you a few notes about editing Wikipedia articles related to figure skating. I have heavily edited these articles for a few years and primarily update tables/scores, which you seem to be attempting to do. However, you have been making multiple and repeated errors that need to be addressed, and it has become tedious for me to rectify/undo your mistakes:

1. Personal bests are listed on each skater's official ISU page. Just because a competition is international doesn't mean it qualifies toward a skater's personal bests, which you tried to do with the free skate score of Richard Dornbush.

2. I already said this in a previous comment, but I'm not keen on adding a "Detailed results" section for skaters who haven't medaled at major international competitions (e.g., Olympics, Worlds, Europeans/Four Continents, and the Grand Prix Final). There are already a sizable number of pages with "Detailed results" sections that are worth maintining and take a decent amount of time to upkeep; trying to maintain a scores section for not-medaled skaters seems a bit superfluous, and the already-useful "Competitive highlights" table normally suffices for these skaters.

3. General formatting/editing tips that I've already mentioned that you continue to not do: avoid successive editing and try to use your sandbox before importing larger edits; only use single line breaks before and after sections; be consistent with date formatting in tables; leave an edit summary with all your edits.

I would like to maintain these pages without unnecesary revisions, but you have been making it difficult to do so. I am sure you are only trying to help, but your edits are getting to the point of disruptive editing, as it is not helpful to have to monitor your edits after making the same repeated mistakes. Please leave a comment here or at my usertalk (linked next to my signature) before doing further edits, so I can at least have acknowledgement you are receiving this feedback.

ArbCom 2018 election voter message

Hello, Fovmjforvfjfo. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
