Please clarify...
[edit]Dear Sir:
I am not completely aware of the nature of the warnings that you have shared with me regarding the Catholic Memorial High School entry at Wikipedia.
I can accept the edits that bring the page into comformity with concerns about content neutrality, although I feel your edits go too far in this matter. Regardless, I will take the guidance provided in the pertinent FAQ's.
What I find odd is that you take it upon yourself to make numerous grammatical and stylistic changes. While I did not originally post the page, the general format I would see for a page representing our school is one that follows the Chicago Manual of Style. This is what we require of our students, and thus it would be odd to follow something else on this page.
Please clarify for me if you are using some other generally accepted writing style resource, other that the Chicago Manual, and I will consider applying it to our page. If not, please allow stylistic elements to remain unchanged. Otherwise, it might be better if this insititution were not represented on your website.
Easter Blessings to you,
Fr. Paul Hartmann, President, Catholic Memorial High School, Waukesha, WI

- I did not make those changes, it may be best to ask the person that did. If you want information on style here on Wikipedia, you may want to see WP:MOS -- ForgottenManC (talk) 17:52, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
some balance struck?
[edit]In this entry, what do you mean by "some balance struck"? That some of the information should have been kept, or what? tedder (talk) 18:23, 23 April 2009 (UTC)

[edit]This is not vandalsm.
The "Scott" award was created in my garage to commemorate this and it stays in the Director's office during the year.
It was given at the Senior Banquet and is a legit thing. This is not vandalsm, please stop deleting it. If you would like to give me a reason for it to be removed that does not constitute vandalism, please iform me of such —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hats4you (talk • contribs) 23:07, 17 May 2009 (UTC)
- This was considered vandalism1) it's not encyclopedic, awarding something for an 'unintelligent' act is of note to no one outside of that school; 2) your writing is not objective/written from a neutal point of view WP:NPOV; 3) you did not make any citations WP:CITE; 4) use of words like 'retarded' and 'ogrish apenditures' make this a pretty clear case of vandalism. -- ForgottenManC (talk) 23:19, 17 May 2009 (UTC)

Why the removal of information on Ernestown Secondary School?
[edit]Why did you remove information on the Ernestown Secondaey School page? That information was informative and fine.
(Regular mario (talk) 01:11, 27 May 2009 (UTC))
- See WP:WPSCH/AG (as previously mentioned). If it is not relevant to the community outside of the school it is likely not notable enough for inclusion. Also, none of it was cited, which generally just means a citation tag, but the combo of the two (especially the first) led me to remove it (and give my reasoning of the article guidelines linked above). -- ForgottenManC (talk) 01:49, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

[edit]Why did you remove the last sentance of the first paragraph of the Meads Mill Middle School page? Meads Mill talks about Kevin Porter all the time!!! Zippedy (talk) 20:51, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
- I am sure the school does, but I am pretty sure no one else cares where a college hockey player went to middle school. High school, maybe. In any event, it should be cited and not placed in the lead of the article. -- ForgottenManC (talk) 02:25, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
Kelso High School
[edit]Why did you remove information under Notable Alumni and Coaches? Looking at the articles you post on, you have no idea what is notable and what isn't in the state of Washington. Ed is very well known in the Pacific Northwest as a coach. I am going to add it back in and please give me good reason as to why he isn't a notable coach. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ks03 (talk • contribs) 16:00, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
- FWIW, I replied here and cleaned up Kelso High School (Washington). tedder (talk) 16:56, 29 May 2009 (UTC)

Hi, can you review through my school's article again and tell me what needs to be improved? Thanks Deltawk (talk) 04:11, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
- I made some changes. Can we remove the first references section? All should be in reflist. The section on the curriculum is really not all that notable to anyone who doesn't go there it reads no different than thousands of other high schools. Some of the alumni had references but not that demonstrated notability. The intro is definitely too long, be sure it only summarizes what is in the article (no info just in intro). Cheers, ForgottenManC (talk) 23:03, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for your help with the article, I've made some changes per your suggestions, and hopefully will be addressing the issue with the introduction (hopefully by adding the intro's information in the body and then summarizing the intro) I'll probably have to replace the paragraphs listing the AP courses... Deltawk (talk) 23:15, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
- Great, good work. When done, if you want it reassessed add it to the assessment requests on the school page. ForgottenManC (talk) 01:16, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
- I've made all the changes that you've suggested, and the article is already queued for assessment in the Category Schools. Deltawk (talk) 23:48, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

More Reference Help.
[edit]Do we have to have a link to the references we used. Because I had used a few newspapers for some of my references.
Also, that other advice did not help much. How can I cite my references.
Thanks, evilmaster 23.
- The WP:CITE pages seems pretty clear to me, you need to cite it if you want to be sure it doesn't get removed. - ForgottenManC (talk) 03:44, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit]Please stop undoing all the edits on notable alumni. They are important people in the community and help the schools reputation. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.190.101.200 (talk) 04:21, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
Hello! I trust that you meant well when you changed a number of things in the Balwyn High School infobox, but some of them are from outdate sources. For example, the principal is currently not Bruce Armstrong, but is the previous person. Please try to obtain assistance from students or staff at the school before editing the infobox. Thanks in advance! Flipper24 (talk) 11:11, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
- I did not edit the infobox. Even so, on Wikipedia, editing it isn't the job of students and staff of your school. - ForgottenManC (talk) 19:17, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
Whats wrong with the edit I put in ? Please wright back so i can do it the correct way. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Donny345423 (talk • contribs) 02:41, 17 July 2009 (UTC)
What The Heck Is Going On? :/
[edit]Hey, I am replying about Wikipedia. Wikipedia recently has falseley accused me of editing two pages that I've never seen in my life before (and nobody else uses the computer that I am on besides me). The first artical is Plaxico Burress. Who the heck is Plaxico Burress, and why would I edit a page about a guy? I have no interests in biography type stuff. I never edited that page. See this link for info about the Plaxico Burress page that I DID NOT edit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:76.235.97.98#February_2008 Just recently I got another message from Wikipedia that said I had edited the O'Fallon Township High School page. Although I live near O'Fallon, I have never in my life looked up "O'Fallon Township High School" on Wikipedia. The Wikipedia server is making a mistake. I haven't edited anything. Please confirm to Wikipedia that I haven't done anything wrong, and that I have not edited a single page titled "Plaxico Burress" or "O'Fallon Township High School." Thank you. -Jim —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.206.27.171 (talk) 00:56, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
