If you make a typo in the article name next time, you can just move the article to the correct title, rather than re-creating it and tagging the old version for WP:G7. Singularity42 (talk) 22:38, 18 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ah. I thought moving pages required admin privileges as well, but apparently not. Thanks for the heads up.Forbes72 (talk) 17:46, 19 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Your GA nomination of Electronic sports

[edit]

The article Electronic sports you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needed to be addressed. If these are fixed within 7 days, the article will pass, otherwise it will fail. See Talk:Electronic sports for things which need to be addressed. Do you plan on continuing with the GA nomination? DARTHBOTTO talkcont 21:42, 17 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Grooveshark Article

[edit]

Hello, I noticed you made some updates to the Grooveshark article recently and was wondering if you’d be willing to make some additional updates to improve the quality and accuracy of the page. I can send you some links to articles that have more up-to-date information about the company to help you determine ways to build and improve the article. For example, the company has secured multiple settlements and additional label licenses over the past year that are missing from the article. Erinpickard (talk) 19:23, 13 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Comcast, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Blackout (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Whoops. It's fixed. Thanks, automated message.Forbes72 (talk) 00:36, 20 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop by and check responses. Personally, I think you should withdraw any of the new content that you added, if it cannot be corroborated in at least two reliable sources. I doubt you'll find anything that looks even close to reliable that would say that Comcast Business was founded in 1992. - 2001:558:141C:0:0:5EFE:AA1:D1F0 (talk) 22:40, 5 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Energy Comment

[edit]

Hi, I was going to thank you for some of your edits to Energy but there were so many I didn't know where to begin :-)

Edit: I started to discuss the lede's first sentence with you here but have moved it to Talk:Energy now that I've noticed your comments there.

Net neutrality

[edit]

When you get the chance, can you stop back by Net_neutrality and check if your concerns have been taken care of? Thanks! TeamLFB (talk) 23:28, 28 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Are you referring to my tag of the over-quotation of the article, or the overuse of "applications"? The applications weirdness is fixed, but the article is still much too quote heavy I think. Look at the "Development of the Concept" for example. Instead of a broad overview of how "net neutrality" developed, the section is essentially one sentence about history,(the first) and then four positions put in chronological order. Getting a coherent account is very difficult, but we need a better flow to tie this stuff together. I'll see if I can help out.Forbes72 (talk) 03:19, 30 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Net neutrality history

[edit]

I undid you recent edits to Net neutrality because you edit descriptions said you were moving something to history but you only deleted it. XFEM Skier (talk) 13:26, 12 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Huh? Maybe you misread my edit summary: "moving 2005-2010 history to Net neutrality in the United States (rules no longer in force))" If you check the edit history there, you can see the material being moved into the article.(here is the specific edit) The US section is pretty verbose, I was just trying to move the US specific material out of the general article, as the information is is pretty out of date. The only reason the word "history" came up was because that was in the name of the subsection that I moved. I assume your concerns are a semi-automated false positive? Maybe I should have tagged it with WP:MERGE? This was not an unexplained deletion. I am willing to discuss the move if you wish. Forbes72 (talk) 19:13, 12 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I got it I read that as a subsection not as a separate article hence my mistake. Carry on. XFEM Skier (talk) 19:39, 12 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the notification. User:Tbonnema says that they think the broad sourcing is possible. I'm going to see how much it improves before nominating WP:AfD,(and I'll keep an open mind) but it will probably go there eventually.Forbes72 (talk) 20:50, 5 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

UK and Cyprus are on different continents

[edit]

You said in one of your comments that UK and Cyprus are on the same continent. This is false. Cyprus is an Asian island. It is in EU but geographically not in Europe as Britain. Read this article for more info https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Europe. Baloglu (talk)

You may be right...it's complicated. The exact boundaries between continents is by convention, rather than by a clear, impartial definition.(and they change over time) In the strictest sense, islands aren't even part of continents at all. To be honest, I don't recall the context of this. If you feel there's an issue with one of my edits, go ahead and change it. Forbes72 (talk) 01:30, 29 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I saw you made a comment on the silicon carbide page

[edit]

I do not know how to edit wiki pages myself, but you, being an experienced editor, might be interested in this note and then delete it. On the silicon carbide page, in right side properties column above the melting point data, the chemical formula is backward CSi. But I think it should be SiC. Correct it if you have the time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.226.16.7 (talk) 05:14, 17 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Interesting. The name implies listing Carbon second, but the Hill system says Carbon goes first. The formula listing on Calcium carbide, Aluminium carbide always mirrors its name, but Tungsten_carbide, Beryllium carbide, Silicon Carbide use hill system for infobox, and follow the name in the text. SiC sounds more right to me, but I think it needs more consideration why there's two systems, which is better, and if some editors already have some perfectly logical explaination I'm not seeing here. Forbes72 (talk) 22:31, 19 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The template ([[1]]) is not at all helpful, just describes the field as "chemical formula". Tungsten trioxide has the same conflict, and they went with WO3 exclusively, instead of the O3W (ref [2]). I think the answer here is actually to list both, using the common ordering in the text, and clarifying the infobox as using the Hill system name.
