A tag has been placed on David Hawkins (author), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. AllyD (talk) 07:59, 14 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

David R. Hawkins

[edit]

Flyersam- This is a long drawn out issue, that you have not been privy to over the last several years. This came to a head last year shortly before Dr. Hawkins death. I created the last two incarnations of the David R. Hawkins article; we editors had mountains of research on everything Dr. Hawkins ever was involved in or had written. You may or may not be aware that there is a German Wiki article regarding Dr. Hawkins that is still in good standing. The English (American) wikipedians tend to be deletionists regarding subjects and authors they deem "pseudoscience". Though Dr. Hawkins wrote multiple books, worked with scientist Linus Pauling, was on several national shows, including an interview with Oprah and Barbra Walters, lectured in the U.S. and overseas, was acknowledge by authors such as Deepak Chopra, and other authors have written books about him, etc, etc,-individuals much more suited for encyclopedic cataloging such as Riley Schillaci the swords swallowing girl who was eliminated from some talent reality show gets to post her job resume as an article or such the Wellington local homeless guy Ben Hana who had a drunk driving accident in the 70's. Questionable people like Dr. Hawkins and his work shouldn't be shown to the general Wikipedia readership. Iconoclast.Horizon (talk) 18:07, 14 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I had a file with over 22 pages of listings for everything he had ever published or released. It may be in the talk pages or I may still have a copy. Much of the dialogue took place on the deflationist admin's pages. Multiple versions of the article existed form average to stripped down. All were revised according by 'anti-spiritualist' 'anti-psuedoscience' proponents, even though Dr. Hawkins work has been well established. A one point they tried to delete it because they could not say with certainty that his birthdate was correct since a birth certificate had not been found online. Granted, I am not an acolyte of Dr. Hawkins (as I was accused of in the AfDs) but do recognize that he and his work is far beyond worthy of being listed here and that the campaign to keep his kind of work off Wikipedia goes far beyond just this article.
