Please see the past discussion regarding the vangard template. You are incorrect. Anyone can put that template anywhere they want. Bryan.Wade (talk) 20:53, 25 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- The template quite clearly says: "Requirements: 200,000 edits and 20 years of service". You currently have 152 edits. The only discussions I can find are ones where people also mention your use of the service award, or edit summaries from your user page where other people have removed the service award. — Fly by Night (talk) 21:06, 25 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Once again, look at past decussions on this. Go the the service awards discussion page. This issue has been resolved AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN. But then people like you don't look through the discussion page to see what has been deemed acceptable behaviour and start changing people's user pages willy-nilly. Again, read the discussion page. Bryan.Wade (talk) 00:29, 26 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Would you care to link to these discussions? I have looked at the four topics on WT:SVC and there is nothing whatsoever to support you claims. Moreover, would you care to share with us why you choose to misrepresent the truth? — Fly by Night (talk) 00:32, 26 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

- The pictures look cool, so I use them. Here is one topic in question http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Service_awards/Archive_2#Rules_for_displaying_awards . I have also reported people and the administrators have sided this me. Bryan.Wade (talk) 00:37, 26 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Also, I reported a user here for doing the same thing and the admins sided with me http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Administrators%27_noticeboard/Incidents&diff=prev&oldid=333675946 If you want to keep removing the tags I will report you and the admins will side with me again. Your call.Bryan.Wade (talk) 00:42, 26 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- (edit conflict) Wikipedia works on something called consensus; see WP:CONSENSUS. As far as I can see, this is a discussion between four editors (including yourself). I would hardly say that that give you authority to come and shout on my user page about things being resolved "AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN". The picture does look cool, so why not earn it? Some cars look cool, would you steal them? Besides the picture, you display the words "This editor is a Vanguard Editor and is entitled to display…" That isn't just using a cool picture; that's just a bare faced lie! Why don't you stop wasting your time giving yourself awards that you haven't earned and don't deserve, and instead actually do something to improve the encyclopaedic? — Fly by Night (talk) 00:51, 26 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- P.S. When you "reported" people to the admins, did they get detention? Did they get lines? Grow up, stop lying, get a life, and things will be so much better. I've looked at the admins "siding" with you. Their siding with you consists of you posting "As for the humor template. Why not!" on a totally unrelated thread. Please do carry on with your lies. Experienced Wikipedians can find all the facts, and you just end up looking (even more) silly. Do me a favour: Please "report me" to the admins; go on. I dare you. Oh, and do be careful, you have almost as many edits on my user page than you do on the project as a whole. — Fly by Night (talk) 00:51, 26 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- If you think consensus has changed then I suggest you go to the service awards discussion page so as to get the lead changed, because right now the page clearly states that anyone can put the template on their page with no penalty. Bryan.Wade (talk) 00:58, 26 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- The lead? You mean the "nutshell" abstract?! That simply says that displaying the wrong one carries no penalty. No-one is proposing a penalty. You're the one saying you'll "report" people for vandalism. If I were you then I would stop making false claims (e.g. that you're a Vanguard Editor and are entitled to display such-and-such, or that admins have "sided" with you when in reality you just made the post "As for the humor template. Why not!" on the admin's noticeboard, or that you were reverting vandalism; this last one is a big deal, and you could find yourself in hot water if I were to run and tell teacher). — Fly by Night (talk) 01:07, 26 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
As require by policy, I have to inform you that I have posted about you in wikipedia administration incidents here Bryan.Wade (talk) 01:13, 26 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- I've closed it, this is serious time wasting. Fly By Night, why do you care what service awards a mostly inactive user has on their pages? Have you nothing better to worry about? I'd suggest reading WP:BIKESHED. Fences&Windows 01:41, 26 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- People work hard on Wikipedia, and things like service awards and barnstars are important for motivation and reward. Displaying bogus awards is not only dishonest, but it debases the entire system. Call me old fashioned, but I think that people should be honest and should be rewarded for hard work. Besides that, I'm not the only one: the admin JamesBWatson has removed his service awards thrice, while the user Mkdw has removed them once. — Fly by Night (talk) 02:17, 26 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
