For shutting out this nonsense. Great move on your part! Regards, Swarm X 22:40, 21 April 2011 (UTC)[reply] |
- Wow… Thank you very much. This is my first ever barnstar, and it made me smile from ear to ear. — Fly by Night (talk) 22:48, 21 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- You're quite welcome. And you've done far too much good work here for that to be your first barnstar, but I guess that's life. :) Swarm X 23:59, 21 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- I think they're less common. Looking at the editor figures from the past it looks like Wikipedia was like a small village back in the day: everyone knew everyone. People got to know each other's work and lots of barnstars were given back in the day. Now, there are so many users that it's like New York city in rush hour. People don't bump into each other like they used to do. Thanks again Swarm… you've made my Wikipedia year! — Fly by Night (talk) 00:13, 22 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- For whatever it's worth, I completely agree with the point you were trying to make. The whole direction that thread went was just bizarre. It's like making a completely logical statement in a room full of people, and they all burst out in laughter as if you're completely insane.

- I sincerely hope the WMF is working on a solution. However, until that happens, there's a task force- Wikipedia:RfA reform 2011- that is working on different possible proposals to improve RfA, and the discussions range from practical, realistic ideas that will soon go the community for a vote, to possible alternatives to the RfA process altogether (although we're not going to propose anything radical). It's quite a positive collaberation- maybe that's where all the serious people at WT:RFA went. Anyway, I'm a coordinator of the project and you're more than welcome to put in your opinion or join the task force. I can guarantee your opinions there will be much more productive than anything you can say at the RFA talk page! If you don't want to focus on this, I totally understand, but I thought I'd let you know. Best regards, Swarm X 05:28, 22 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Thanks, I'll take a look now... — Fly by Night (talk) 13:12, 22 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
