Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Fish finger , did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you. [edit]Please do not add or change content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did to Fish finger. Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Favonian (talk) 10:27, 21 September 2010 (UTC)
- Let me explain a bit more. Contributors to Wikipedia can't just put in their own opinions, or even things they are sure are true. One of Wikipedia's key policies is Wikipedia:Verifiability, which includes: "The threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth—whether readers can check that material added to Wikipedia has already been published by a reliable source, not whether editors think it is true." You are trying to add the assertion that "Grimsby has long claimed to be the birthplace of the fish finger", but it will not be accepted unless you can cite a reliable source that says so.
